1. A viable Palestinian state is coming...
BBSNews ,   Charlotte, NC   (12.06.09)
...the pressure is becoming relentless from all sides, it's a matter of international law, the US President has proclaimed it a matter of National Security, the EU is talking about recognition right now. No more stalling. Time's up.
2. more money for terrorism!
nothing more!   (12.06.09)
3. #1 must be drunk.
Vinny ,   Brooklyn N.Y. U.S.   (12.06.09)
There will be no state because they don't really want one. Destroying Israel is much more important to them and Israel will not be destroyed. Not too hard to figure out.
4. Sure Hamas needs steel rods +concrete for bunkers not homes
Alan ,   SA   (12.06.09)
5. Great. World Bank funds next mideast war.
Billy ,   Jerusalem   (12.06.09)
6. only 60 million?
AS ,   Bonn, Germany   (12.06.09)
No matter what you think of Fayyad's plan... is 64 mio. supposed to be serious money? For setting up additional administration and infrastructure on a nation level, it's surely a complete joke.
7. poor, oppressed palestinians
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (12.06.09)
international bums still getting handouts for doing nothing. must be nice.
8. more money to steal!

9. :: Tick-tock - tick-tock
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (12.06.09)
BBSNews is right; the reality of a Palestinian state is fast approaching. Of course this will not be a unilateral occurrence as Israel will play a pivotal role. Here is a short listing of events that Israel will partake in: 1) A comprehensive peace with the Palestinian people 2) Removal of all illegal settlers and security forces in the Palestinian WB 3) Release of all political prisoners 4) Forfeiting of all claims to E Jerusalem 5) Massive compensation for decades of brutal occupation and the refusal to allow the Right of Return 6) Participation in Truth and Reconciliation tribunals 7) A land link between Gaza and the WB A large fruit basket with a note of heartfelt apologies would also be nice.
10. Abbas, Chavez and Ahmadinejad
Cynthia ,   USA   (12.06.09)
Abbas met with Chavez and Ahmadinejad in Venezuela on 11/27/09 and apparently signed agreements with the two anti-Israel dictators. Abbas thanked the Chavez government for its support and said: "We're all on the same path." Obviously more money will now be thrown down the drain or used for terror. Anyone expecting a peace agreement to thrive in the presence of this liaison is mistaken.
11. 64M$ FATAH... NOW U C IT... NOW YOU DON'T!
stude ham   (12.06.09)
what a bunch losers these world bank twits.
12. Recognition and support
Arie ,   BaGolan   (12.06.09)
Over the years, the EU and the US have provided the PLO with over $10billion. As both US and EU reports showed last year, NO ONE knows what happened to the money. Of course, the coffers in Swiss banks by the Arafat Abbas and Haniyeh families have grown considerably. But since they are prepared to continue being generous, and since we have also agreed that the Palis should have a SEPARATE state that is isolated away from the Jewish State, it is time to build the infrastructure for that State. What that means is we can stop providing infrastructure support for a foreign entity and concentrate on our own needs. So finish the border fence, cut off infrastructure support and financing, no more access to our schools and facilities since they should be able to build their own as an INDEPENDENT AND SOVEREIGN entity, and we wish them well. BYE!
13. #6-U say" $64M is a joke"-hence Pals laugh all way to bank

Your hallucinations are really amazing !
15. Yisrael, it's no hallucination...
BBSNews ,   Charlotte, NC   (12.07.09)
...you see, Matty simply outlined the same deal that everyone knows will be the eventual outcome, even if Israel has to be drug kicking and screaming into compliance with international law and resolutions. Well, all except the flowers. But they would be a nice touch after all...
16. Arie, will you become a Syrian citizen or back to...
BBSNews ,   Charlotte, NC   (12.07.09)
Israel? Because as all the adults know, including even Bibi, the Golan Heights will be going back to Syria. You see, Moshe Dayan admitted it was stolen. And you know it Arie.
17. It will boost Salam Fayyad's bank account!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (12.06.09)
Welcome to the Palestinain Slush Fund!
18. BBS News still trying to convince us....
Malone ,   Hfx   (12.07.09)
....that obama is relevant, rather than the laughingstock he has turned out to be.. You got what you voted for, unfortunately, the rest of the world will suffer due to his incompetence, although not as much as the US.
19. Israel FOREVER
cas reader   (12.07.09)
More money in PA's private bank accts and more villas in Switzerland for corrupted PA leaders. World Bank really knows how to throw away money. There will be only ONE State and that is the Jewish State of Israel with Jerusalem as its undivided Capital.

Birdi ,   Israel   (12.07.09)
"even if Israel has to be drug kicking" Cherokee you must be tired, your English is poorly. you mean, dragged kicking, dont you? WACKO.
21. Matty Groves is right - clock is ticking for the Pals
JPS ,   Efrat   (12.07.09)
Here is the short list of events that the Palestinians will partake in: 1) A comprehensive peace with the Jewish people. 2) The demobilization of all armed militias other than the single Palestinian security forces (that means disarming Hamas, DFLP, PFLP, etc) 3) Release of Brian Cohen 4) Forfeiting all claims to any land in sovereign Israel 5) Massive compensation for decades of brutal terrorism and the ethnic cleansing of Jews from Arab countries 6) Participation in Truth and Reconciliation tribunals 7) Amending the PLO charter to delete clauses calling for armed struggle and replacing them with explicit clauses that recognize Israel and peaceful negotiation as the only means for peace. Nullification of the Hamas charter if Hamas is a partner in the Pal parliament. A large box of chocolates with a note of heartfelt apologies would also be nice.
22. non of the money will go to the palis
ghostq   (12.07.09)
only to their leaders.
23. palestinian state
marco ,   pardes hana, israel   (12.07.09)
I say give them their state, then once they have it they can run their own show. Israel won't owe them anything. No electricity, no water, no bank services, no open border, no medical services. They want to be all grown up and have their way!! When the first rocket or terrorist crosses over the border into Israel, we will have the international right to respond by flattening the place. Sounds fair?
24. # 16
Birdi ,   Israel   (12.07.09)
Cherokee you are delusional as usual.
25. # 18
Birdi ,   Israel   (12.07.09)
BBS & Matty Groves (the same person) can try to convince us until he is blue in the face. What he fails to realize is that he is the biggest joke on this forum.
26. The legitimacy of the Two states solution.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (12.07.09)
The Mandate (Article 5) stipulated that "no Palestine territory shall be ceded or leased to, or in any way placed under the control of, the Government of any foreign Power." This means that under international law, no one can force the Jewish State to cede any land that is legally recognized as belonging to the Jewish homeland. This renders the 1947 UN Partition Plan an illegal resolution. About the lies blocking peace in the M-E at : http://xrl.us/bfaec3
27. to #16 so how ancient synagouge ge there?
ghostq   (12.07.09)
from the forth century, go look for Gamla archiologic sight, it's very eye opener. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamla
28. to #23 you right let them pay for their own
ghostq   (12.07.09)
electricity phone lines and water, once they delair themselve "indipendance" they will get those bythemselves, Israel won't have to provide them with anything. no water no clothes no food no electricity, no phone services, no health services either, they will be on their own, and than they will whine how their neighbor treat them cause they r used to live on Israel expense, but it won't be Israel problem anymore.
