1. He wants a Theocracy - Not a democracy.
Ussishkin ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (12.08.09)
Misconstrued? This man is simply not credible if that's what he says to hide the truth of what he believes. Anyone thinking we would continue to live in this secular paradise of mildly Zionist denial of a democracy should wake up and smell the incense from inside the 3rd Temple. With this so-called Justice Minister's beliefs, we are at the dawn of a Theocratic Israel. It will be ruled by the men of orthodoxy and their fanatical fundamentalist supporters in the West Bank - like the inclusive Daniella Weiss, and the welcoming Elyakim Ha'Etzni, the charming criminal Baruch Marzel, his partner in ideology Feiglin and their torch bearer, Dr Baruch Goldstein. Such people mourn him and I have not spent one moment in grief, so much as in pain that those who call themselves Jews in the state of Israel spawned such a man and such followers. And there we were bemoaning the decline of our political class. Once the 3rd Temple is established it is doubtful whether Netanyahu and Liebermann will be Jewish enough to gain entrance. This is the beginning of our end.

4. Democracy & Communism have given 1000s of death sentences,
Jae ,   lynn us   (12.08.09)
in 2000 years Jewish law has not given 1. Even before that the Mishnah states that if a court rendered a corporal punishment once every 7 years it was considered a bloody court. IE once in 7 years was a lot. People are mostly ignorant about Torah, equally so among Jews. There are many viewpoints within halachah.
5. Well, the "Supreme" Court NEEDS a sense of Jewish law, all
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (12.08.09)
there is now is an atheist sense beating Jews down to show how egalitarian it is.
6. Currently- there is terrorism, violent crime, insecurity,

10. Like it or not
Ariel Ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim,   (12.08.09)
B"H Like it or not Jews are Jewish because of the Torah and the very reason we are on these shores and not in Nigeria is a Torah reason. The political left, that so vehemently opposes our own original Jewish value-system, institutions and legal framework: just read the Declaration of Independence of the modern State of Israel and show me the word "democracy" in there! There isn't one. Yet, there is reference to the Torah. So, cool it and stop turning the State to something it is not meant to be. There is a perfectly legitimate Torah longing within the Jewish people and fighting it is actually anti-Jewish. After all, we pray three times a day for the rebuilding of our Temple and for the re-establishment of our Just courts. Being on the Land of Israel, Jews are required to fall in line with the divine institutional standard! So, let Israel be Jewish! On a practical note, one doesn’t understand why the left is so affectionate towards and on the barricades for the Turkish-Islamic and British-Colonial laws that are on the books.
