Jerusalem, under Israel's control, has been open to all. Christians and Muslims from around the world come to visit and worship in Israel's capital city. (This, it should be noted, has never been the case prior to Israel's control over the city!!!) Jerusalem, it must be kept in mind, has never been the capital city of any people or any state, none, but that of the Jewish people, and it has held this status for more than 3,000 years. It is time to just let Jerusalem be. It is not broken thus there is no need to fix/change its status or the status of any of any of the sites in it.

The vatican should be willing to give us property in their cities. I see absolutely no reason why a religion that is so big, numerous, and well established, need to pick at the land of Israel, which is already stressed for land as it is. Perhaps the whole city of rome and venice would suffice as a trade... I apologize to all the normal Catholics and Jews. Claims like these are counter progressive and only open fronts for future contentions. Shame on any religions who play these games.

The current pope -- as was the practice with the prior pope, as well -- does not even refer to Israel but rather to "the Holy Land." Other than JNF land all land legally belongs to the state and property owners infact have taken long term leases. The Vatican have long overstayed their lease and its time to take back a little bit of our heritage. How much jewish property stolen over the centuries is currently in the vaults of Vatican? We can't march in and take all that back but we can insist that the property is returned to the state and in exchange it can be leased back to vatican on maybe 50 year leases. Do things that way there can be no argument of Israel trying to take away christian holy sites etc just transfer ownership to its LEGAL owner. The same thing should be done to all land owned by churches not just the catholic one. Israel isn't Vatican and its not a catholic state so time to let them know this country is controlled by the jews again and the Roman empire is gone.

Under the law ALL land except JNF owned land belongs to the state. Land owners are infact holders of long term leases ( about 99 years ) So if you think the place belongs to the Danjani family then it should be even easier for the state to take back than it is from the church. Every inch of Jerusalem belongs to the jewish people and the Israeli government is responsible for overseeing it. Non of it belongs to Vatican, Ruaaia, or the Dajani family.

The building is not for sale, but it could be rented for special events like a Passover Seder. His Eminence and twelve of his cardinals can try and make a booking, assuming that the room is not already in use at that time. Kosher catering is also available. Can the Israeli government raise the issue with Vatican about Jewsish properties, especially destroyed Jewish cemeteries, synagogues, yeshivot and private property of all Jewish living and dead in the countries espousing the Roman Catholicism. See the example of reparations to American Indians by the US government. That would be very appropriate context
