is that we havent forgotten who we are and what we want to be. We are Jews living in French Quebec, a minority in a minority. We hold our own. We dont look for handouts. We work, we save we build. We have built the best institutions in Canada, including the Jewish General Hospital, the many Jewish day schools and various other Jewish Institutions. We are children of survivors as well as many who ran from North Africa in the 50's and 60's. We keep kosher on a highter per capita level then any other Jewish Community in the world save Israel. We are just that good. Israel would do itself a favour were they to learn from us. We are givers...we are not takers. Thats who we are!

Montreal was the biggest and best Jewish community in Canada until the 1980's. Thats when Toronto became the key Canadian Jewish community.

The referendum in the 90's influenced a lot of Montreal Jews to move to Toronto. Toronto has a great Jewish community but the weather is awful.

Those who moved to Torornto are the selfish takers. Montreal is still more observant, kosher and giving than the Toronto Jews

those fools who ran to cow town Toronto and sold their houses and buildings for peanuts.We turned around and resold them for high profits. They went to an overpriced WASP anti-semitic town where they told themselves they could be all thay want to be. They also ended up paying a friggin fortune to have their kids educated in a Jewish school. Jewish Montrealers have enjoyed subsidised Jewish education for over 35 years. Running from a golus to a golus is dumb. The only reason to run is because someone is trying to burn your ass. So today most Montreal Jews who have a bit of Yiddish saychel are sitting pretty, (myself included thank g-d) ready to chill and take it all in stride. Thus they give and give. There is no finer Jewish Community outside of Israel bar none. I have come across many blowhearts (mostly Torontonians and Americans) who like to pretend that they are high livers. In due time they mostly all crash and burn. They dont understood a very simple idea. As long as the money is in your pocket your the boss. Once its out of your pocket your done..

How did this inspiring story of self-less Canadian Jews from Montreal turn into a nasty slinging match between Toronto and Montreal?

I am from Ottawa so I liked both communities.
