Jewish CANADIAN ,   Toronto Canada   (12.19.09)
These fanatics will destroy you. And unless Israel cuts off these neo fascist barbarians you will deserve your doom.
2. Israel needs folks with some backbone
Galut ,   Selah   (12.20.09)
perhap not everything they do is right but they are able to stand thier ground better than some of the leaders of Israel.... I think Moses and Joshua of the Bible would conmend them for standing thier ground !
3. Among all the wishy-washy political-correctness in worldview

the settlers, whether one agrees with them or not, are a breath of fresh air. Few are willing to really take a firm stand and to fight with their lives for what they believe in. Yes, the settlers ARE the modern-day Maccabees. Thanks to them for fighting "tooth and nail" to hold onto our G-d-given land, a Jewish State that is way older than 60+ years. Kol ha'Kavod.
4. Jews names, clothing, behavior and language have marked them
L ,   Israel   (12.20.09)
as unique and a nation apart. Look at Israel today and see if this is observably so. I can not believe how many English words are peppered into Hebrew as if it were one and the same language. On the news this morning, I hear rapid-fire Hebrew with this one word over and over "deelehmah" -- huh?!? -- oh, it English: "Dilemma". Ridiculous. As a doctor I once spoke with said: in countries where movies and television have sub-titles, you will find the saturation of English. I'm sure the French are not going around sprinkling "dilemma" into their language. They have pride of culture. WHAT is the matter with Jews? We are always trying so hard to be accepted and like everyone else that we lose ourselves. Even in our OWN LAND. (did you know that the highest percentage of cults' memberships is comprised of Jews? Certainly so in the U.S. -- and how many leave Israel to quest spirituality in India?!?) HAVE PRIDE , SPECIAL JEWISH PEOPLE! Jewish names, Jewish language, Jewish behavior, Jewish country -- chosen to be "a light unto the nations".
5. the biggest disappointment of all.......................
MEIR ROSENSTEIN ,   ISRAEL-BAT AYIN   (12.20.09)
IS THAT THE SECULAR MEDIA HASN'T AWAKENED TO THE REALITY THAT ISRAEL SUPPORTS THE SETTLER MOVEMENT. AT LEAST Y-NET HAS THE INTEGRITY TO PUBLISH THE LASTEST FINDS.
6. Jewish Behavior

I aggree with Mel There is a saying ,As America goes, so goes Israel. Much of my country's devisive behavior has influenced many countries. Israel is No exception! Have they not learned form the time Moshe came down from Mt. Sini, with the Commandments of YHVH? You answer that!
7. 1.you shame all of the diaspra and yourself
truth   (12.20.09)
God bless what this article refers incorrectly, in my opinion, as the "settlers." The are Jews living in Jewish villages located in Jewish land. Nomenclature matters...never forget that, and the wrong nomenclature of referring to these wonderful people as "settlers" living on "settlements" is bad public relations. These are Israelis living in Jewish villages, braving very hostile neighbors; buffering their fellow Israelis from the hostile acts of those neighbors.
8. Kol HaKavod (Kudos) to ynet! What an interesting article!!!
Michael ,   Petach Tikva   (12.20.09)
One thing to add is the fact that the Hashmoneans started with ideals and eventually degraded and even became Hellenists. This is very similar to secular zionism, which originally had great ideals and was very connected to the Jewish nation and to the "national destiny" of the Jews. However, now many of the descents of great secular leaders do not really care much about zionism and nationalism, but talk about how great it is in America and how they'd like to live there (or Canada). Hundreds of professors even signed a document supporting the "Palestinian cause" recently.
9. Sorry I missed it!

If the poll were expanded to include participants everywhere I would've given the settlers a thumbs-up too! Keep building settlements and give the IDF something better to do. If I were in the IDF, I'd support the settlements too, just so there's less West Bank land to patrol.
10. Good news! Settlers ARE the new Maccabbees.
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.22.09)
It's a good thing that most Israelis view settlers are the new Maccabbees. They are correct. Settlers ARE the new Maccabbees. Like the Maccabbees of old, settlers refuse to submit to the dictates of the evil and corrupt. Like the Maccabbees of old, the settlers' worst enemies are treacherous and cowardly Jews. Like the Maccabbees of old, our settlers will certainly win.
11. What??? A positive article about Settlers?
Shlomo Silverstein ,   Maale Adumim, Israel   (12.22.09)
I've just seen a porkie with wings outside my window. YNET with with a positive article about Jews living in the land of Israel that is beyond the green line? I'll have to print this out and frame it. I suppose they'll have to balance this with another 20 articles bashing religious Jews now.
