1. I have an answer for you Yair...
Rachel ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (12.20.09)
Why don't you quit asking yourself questions of this nature and go into politics and pick up where your dear father left off? "What now" is a meaningless exercise unless you have some answers handy. Sitting on the sidelines kvetching fixes nothing and creates more of the political and social inertia of which you speak. As your dad would have told you, columns are nice but solve nothing without political will.
2. Bye-bye secular Zionism. Welcome Judaism!
Ariel Ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim,   (12.20.09)
B"H That's my personal story, anyhow. And you know what? It's not only survivable, it's even pleasurable: the greatest shot of visdom I've ever experienced.
3. This man realy smart, he's got talent, he's understand kind
Bob ,   Moscow   (12.20.09)
of mire he's in & that why, with all love that he has to Israel, he really need fresh air outside this swamp, where U can't find anything, exept "reah"...
4. no one is home...
traintalk ,   northern israel   (12.20.09)
seems to me the only thing to do is to start constructing viable platforms, an alternative open source - type foil that, at the very least, may remind us that a self respecting citizenry that is not consulted is insulted.
5. what now
laplace ,   paris, france   (12.21.09)
Yair, Dont dispair. This country has seen many harships in the past. Your father would have said so himself. He was more optimistic than you. He encountered more hardships than most of the newer generation and made it to the end.
6. who is the policeman
sagi ,   jerusalem   (12.21.09)
two cats want to make love ..one say ..now ...te other say now .. suddenly a policeman apear so they say ...not now
7. The only difference....
Andi ,   Israel   (12.21.09)
True, there is a hell of a lot that needs doing here. That's not unique to Israel. The only difference here is that people care and ask the question "What now?".
8. Yair- it's time for you
jan ,   Jerusalem   (12.21.09)
to get your anti-depressants adjusted. What help are your articles, really? Either you are overly critical of a particlular element of society, or now just ready to collapse. The people of Israel aren't. Sorry you Elites are (not really)
9. I was a truly radical solution
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (12.21.09)
I mean this solution is so far out there and has never ever been attempted here, but has worked in just about every other country with any conflicts in the world. We elect our OWN leadership and have ISRAELI leaders that lead us against our enemies and destroy them. Once they are no longer enemies we can talk about peace, but only after they are no longer our enemies, because otherwise that is just appeasement and we have seen how well that works. That is my extremely radical suggestion
