First, I don't understand how there can be a "firearms attack" in London since private gun ownership is essentially illegal. But, assuming the police are right, why warn the citizens if they can't defend themselves? I've seen numerous reports of citizens being sent to jail for defending themselves and their property. If you expect them to just run like jackrabbits until the police get around to getting over there, they need no warning for that. I guess at least you don't expect them to be human sacrifices to your authoritarian governmental zealots. As one of the bloggers I read calls it, "the place where Great Britain used to be." Give the citizens guns, let them defend themselves against the terrorists.
