1. "Lebanon?" What "Lebanon?"
Arie ,   BaGolan   (12.20.09)
Just another Iranian province on the shores of the Mediterranean! With Iran's Hezbollah Battalion firmly entrenched as the puppet government, what was once a proud State is now nothing more than a Muslim gulag along the sea.
2. The problem with Arabs
Eyal ,   USA   (12.20.09)
Is that they are so two face and hypocrites. Assad kills Father, son receives blessings from Assad. What is wrong with this picture? I don't think the Arabs have any dignity. This is really a win for Israel. No more dividing Hezbollah from Lebanon.
3. Lieberman is best Israeli Foreign Minister ever
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (12.20.09)
palestinians and Arabs may see, Certainly he is best for Arabs, Palestinians should act fast before Netanyahu Governmet collapses
4. Disgusting! Hariri is a coward!
Jay3 ,   Israel   (12.20.09)
These are the same people that killed his father! And now he is appeasing them! Where is this weaklings honor? This guy is nothing but a coward and i know his father would be rolling in his grave!
5. watching is one thing and living it is another thing
roger ,   loa angeles   (12.21.09)
you are definitely right, hariri's move is very bad for march 14 coalition but i believe for strategic reasons he was obliged to do so. think about it, Sinni muslim in lebanon are not in power shiite are (hezbolla) the only was to weaken them is to have close ties with Syria who cannot afford to be sandwiched in the middle of of 2 shiite states which could poses it minority alawit regime to a revolution. Now, hariri did what he did and that visit is his only option for balanced power in lebanon. now he is coward? maybe good move? that will appear in the near future when hezbolla is disarmed. which i hope it happens without bloody war..
6. Lebanon
Eli ,   Israel   (12.21.09)
Outside Lebanon Hariri has no real allies. One has to be insane to rely on Obama’s America, and he is not. His calculations are very pragmatic: (i) he understands that Lebanon is crucial to Syria; (ii) that politically and personally he can survive only by Syrian benevolence and (ii) the gift of his allegiance to Syria will be appreciated in Damascus because Syria needs a loyal player in Lebanon as a counterweight to Hezbollah. By the way, in that sense Papa Assad has been a real powerbroker - he used to prop up opposing Lebanese factions (Shiites, Sunnis, Christians and Druses) in their struggle against each other.
7. he truth is...
faysal ,   dubai uae   (12.21.09)
Lebanon cant live without mother syria's blessings when it comes to politics. Fact. Syria didnt kill Hariri.
8. You failed to mention the key ingredient
Mea   (12.21.09)
Obama. If Hussein Obama was viewed with any sort of respect in the Arab world, this meeting between Hariri and Assad would not have taken place. Indeed, the whole Arab world sits in silent amazement at the incompetence of Obama's administration, with two exceptions: Iran and Syria. Hariri needs to gain as much security for himself as possible, since it is obvious that he has none with the Obama admin. This is unfortunate not just a prime example of the ramifications of a spineless adminstration mired in indecisiveness but actually becoming just another example of it--as the middle east quakes with the realization that there is no one watching the atore. OBAMA OUT IN 2012!
9. #7 Mr. Truth. Sure sure. Assad washed his hands first
Jake   (12.23.09)
before giving the green light on Hariri.
