It takes more than a few weasel words of apology to make up for years of libels, slanders, generally despicable behavior, and actions against Israel. True "teshuva" requires him not just to acknowledge his transgressions, but to work to undo the damage. Some things can't be undone - like how he sided with Sadat against Begin and Israel ended up with the short end of the stick at Camp David. But I don't see that he's retracted anything he's said or written. This "apology" barely goes beyond the classic "I'm sorry anyone took offense at my words."
