1. Hamas
Ricardo Macher ,   KarneiShomron Israel   (12.23.09)
Just by talking to them we are losing! We all know that Gilad Shalit is important, but Israel's image and security is more important. Start punishing those killers we have jailed and you will see how everything changes. Stop being naive and stupid, we don't need more humiliations like the last exchange!!!
2. i hope that..
adir ,   israel   (12.23.09)
i hope that it will be the last deal made with terrorists. i still thinks we need to give hamas ultimatum or else....BOOM
3. Hamas Chutzpah
Rose ,   Netherlands   (12.23.09)
Hamas kinapped an innocent boy who never hurt anyone and treats him worse than the perpetrator of the worst crimes against humanity and then says ISRAEL puts obstacles to freeing him. He should never have been not free in the first place. That no Israeli leader has ever said this, betrays a weird Israeli mindset.
4. Have to Wonder
Mark of Lewiston ,   Lewiston USA   (12.23.09)
I have to wonder if the government of Israel takes any obligation under any treaty as an actual obligation or as just a weird suggestion. The exile is specifically prohibited by Geneva Conventions. Saying "No" would be one thing. But trashing a treaty as if there were a specific "except Israel" clause is nuts. Why does Israel sign treaties it has so much contempt for?
5. HAMAS ! ARE YOU AFRAID OF MR. AHMADINEJAD ?
Atilla Karagözoğlu   (12.23.09)
I am sure he wont mind this deal. accept it. and lets start to talk about tomorrows ! WHAT YOU THINK HAMAS ! WILL WEE SEE SUPRISE POZITIVE THINGS FOR THE PEACE ? DO YOU REALY WANT 1967 BORDERS, HAMAS ?
6. Atilla @#5
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (12.23.09)
No Hamas does not want the 1967 borders and they never said that they do. They want ALL of Israel and Palestine. "Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it." See The Hamas Covenant: http://www.mideastweb.org/hamas.htm
7. Violation of UN Charter Article 51
Ron B. ,   Lod   (12.23.09)
Israel is a sovereign and democratic state with an obligation, and not just a right, to defend its citizens from armed aggression. Gaza has for years been used by Hamas and other groups as a base for rocket strikes on Israeli centres of population. There have been thousands of such attacks, putting hundreds of thousands of Israeli civilians at risk. These are, as Human Rights Watch has put it, unlawful and unjustifiable, and they amount to war crimes. To understand what it means to live under rockets threat consult : http://xrl.us/bfq9oi
8. I reckon Bibi does not want Shalit back...
BBSNews ,   Charlotte, NC   (12.24.09)
...so why keep dragging it out for the families on both sides? Bibi should just admit that he simply does not have the will to complete the deal, a deal made even more impossible by Israel's other deals; Kuntar comes to mind. Israel chose this road long ago. Don't whine about precedents that Israel itself set with past prisoner deals.
