1. Hmmm...how does this scenario go? Let's see:

Peres will say that this proves that Israel wants peace. US will say that it's a good start. EU and UN will say that it's not enough. Abbas will say that it is only a ruse to distract from Israeli settlements - 'the main obstacle to peace'. Iran will say 'Death to the Zionist entity!' Hizbullah and Hamas will do a victory dance.
2. Another bright idea from the Israeli govt??
William ,   Israel   (12.29.09)
What a sham!! UNIFIL, despite whatever promises they made, ALWAYS failed in their mission in S. Lebanon, whether by design or by accident. UNIFIL can't keep weapons from Hizbullah's hands or even Israel's border, but they can keep Ghajar safe? No way. Besides this - the village leader is correct - another govt action, to please the world, that ignores both common sense and the actual people who live in Ghajar. Thanks to Israel, the village will be over-run with terrorists, and Ghajar residents' lives will be in danger. Nice. Really nice.

will rue the day they become part of lebanese soil and country. this is a recipe for disaster because hizbullah will take over this village on the israeli border )too valuable a location for hizbullah to ignore), making the lives of its residents hell on earth, using their homes as cache depots and using their kids and wives as human shields. this will eventually happen because both unifil and the leb army are useless as proven in the past. i feel sorry for ghajar residents. they know not what they wish for. eventually, after ,uch violence eminating from the village in the future where the israeli army will have to intervene to stop terror attacks by hizbullah, these residents will realize that no matter what it has always been better and more peaceful on the israeli side. mark my word. this will happen. i give it one year maximum. hameed aboughaze, iranian
