1. The report of a booming smuggling economy...
William ,   Israel   (12.31.09)
is probably the most damning of the farse by Hamas that Gaza is poor and its residents are starving. Simple economics (that even racists can understand) - if the people you're trying to sell to have no money, they can't buy anything. If they can't buy anything, you have no one to sell product to and no trade - ergo, you're stuck with product and no money. But in recent reports - the money is changing hands, to the tune of $186,000 per day, per tunnel. No bad for poor destitute people who rely on handouts from the UN. Or maybe John Ging is buying viagra on their behalf.
2. An economy dependent on smuggling

What does it say about the economies of Gaza and Sinai when so much depends on the freedom to smuggle? Across the border, Israel is busy growing and building things. I know, it's a radical concept, but the Arabs should try it.
3. Do they realy need the tunnels in Gaza?

The “blockade” such as it is, can end any time that Hamas releases kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit, revokes the genocidal Hamas Charter and agrees to recognize the right of Israel to exist and to negotiate peace with Israel. EU and USA financial contributions are being used to maintain a lawless, genocidal extremist regime that persecutes Christians and to finance terrorism against Israel. The problem to the solution in the Middle East is the jihadist ideology to whose followers it is their religious duty to fight the infidels and therefore any peace treaty or hudna can only be temporary. Peace is by definition impossible until we tackle the jihadists”. As to human rights let’s be fair : http://xrl.us/bea8f6
