That makes a change coming from the left & Obama. The left have always been in favor of releasing Bargouti. Even before Shalit was taken Olmert & Livni and Peres were looking for excuses to release Bargouti because he was popular. More than ever now Israels peace camp want Bargouti out because they think he is the palestinian Nelson Mandella. Even Bush was generally in favour of releasing him. Now we have the Obama regime against releasing him. This is probably the first good thing the US has pressured Israel into doing since Obama came to power. This is crazy, they pressure us to release him now not to.
