1. :: Room for 7m more?
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (01.02.10)
11 million Palestinians, what is the total Jewish population worldwide, about 13 million isn't it? As a two state solution is becoming ever more unlikely (due to illegal settlements in the WB) it will be interesting to see how these 11 million Palestinians fit into a one-state solution. It wouldn’t be hard to absorb another 7 million Israeli citizens after all Israel has a great record of absorption.
2. And less than 300 thousand are really refugees
Eric ,   Tel Aviv   (01.02.10)
By any normal definition less than 35% of these Palestinians are refugees.
3. Palestinians count children with a non-Palestinian father
Steve   (01.02.10)
If Jews would do the same, their numbers wouldn't always remain so anemic.
4. Define "Palestinian"
ben Ish   (01.02.10)
5. Remember Jews you are Palestinians also
Ruri   (01.02.10)
Don't let the constant repetition of the "Palestinian" lie enter your mind - just because the mainstream media and the world elites have been pretending there is a "Palestinian people" that doesn't make it so!
6. According to Yoram Ettinger in an
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (01.02.10)
article just published in Ynet, the population figures of Palestinian Arabs are wildly overestimated in order to fulfill a politcal, as opposed to a scientific, aim. There's no reason not to believe that the same hasn't been done with respect to Palestinians living abroad. The number of Arabs counted as "Palestinians" at the time of the 1948 War of Independence included Arabs who had drifted in to the region less than two years previously. So, in conclusion, one should be really careful with these statistics as reported by Palestinian authorities as they have a political, as opposed to scientific, purpose.
7. Interesting ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.02.10)
When the modern State of Israel was established, Jews from throughout the world flocked to Israel to help build a Jewish state. The Palestine Authority has been around for quite a while now; how many Palestinians living abroad have flocked to areas controlled by the PA to help build a Palestinian state? Not one. Not a single, blessed one. Therein the difference.
8. They lie about Karina ship, lie about history, lie about #s
Believability? ,   Boulder US   (01.02.10)
There are about 1.55 million, not 2.5 mill arabs in Judea (Jew-di-ah) & Samaria. See the Ettinger reports
9. Matty Groves forgets one important point.
flyingdoc57 ,   Florida, U.S.A.   (01.02.10)
"As a two state solution is becoming ever more unlikely (due to illegal settlements in the WB) it will be interesting to see how these 11 million Palestinians fit into a one-state solution." [M.G.] You always seem to forget, or ignore, the fact that Israel is a soverign State, and will decide FOR ITSELF any so-called "solution". We Jews have already had the "FINAL solution" imposed on us during W.W.II. Neither you nor anyone else will be imposing any additional "solutions", be it one-state, two-state, three-state, etc. The fact is that the so-called "Palestinians" (no such thing, of course) already have their State, and it's called Jordan. As for the 7-million so-called "Palestinians", one thing is for certain...They will NEVER be incorporated into Israel. Israel has always been, and will always remain, a predominantly Jewish State. Here's an idea for your, though. Being that your (fake) heart bleeds endlessly for these poor, poor, downtrodden, peaceful, tolerant little cuddly angels of humanity, why don't you and B.S.News each take 3.5 million of the little darlings into your own bunkers? With an "Allah Hu-Achbar....Ka'Boom!" here, and an "Allah Hu-Achbar....Ka'Boom!" there, their numbers will become quite manageable in no time at all.
10. excellent!
OZ   (01.03.10)
they can and should stay there!
11. Is their right of return less than that of the Jews?
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (01.03.10)
Many Jews could claim they are Polish, Russian or American but choose to live in Israel. Do the Palestinians have less of a right to live where their ancestors once lived, which is more recent than many Jews. The Canaanites, Phoenicians and Egyptians have lived in this area for 3500yrs, with Babylonians, Greeks and Romans over 2000yrs. I think the need for a Jewish homeland is greater than that of the Palestinians but their needs and dreams still need to be addressed. One state solution while is some ways to best answer would destroy any hope for a true Jewish state. I believe a 2 state 1 nation solution could work but would need a lot of trust and both sides willing to give up some of their dreams.
12. :: Flyingdoc57 - #9
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (01.03.10)
Oh no-no-no. Where did you get that silly idea? Haven’t you been listening? The EU/America and various Israeli Govs have all stated that a “solution should be achieved through *negotiation*”. Israel will decide nothing by itself. <"Palestinians" (no such thing, of course) already have their State, and it's called Jordan> It is bigoted mentalities such as your that has stymied the peace process. Israel had a chance to have a sovereign state (before it sold itself to America for aid and protection) but because of greed (illegal settlements in the WB) this is looking like it is no longer possible. If Israel will not give up the illegal settlements then it denies the Palestinians their own state. Simply put, if Israel continues to annex the WB then it will have no choice but to incorporate the WB (and Gaza) Palestinians into the state of Israel. Wouldn’t that be nice Flyingdoc57, a one-state solution where Jews, Muslims, and Christians all have equal rights and responsibilities in a secular and democratic state? Don’t you want Jews, Muslims and Christians to live in peace Flyingdoc57?
13. Bloodyscot. dallas is different from Nablus . Arab
Jae ,   Lynn US   (01.03.10)
naionalism and fundamental islam is a toxic brew in the middle eats that westerners- 10,000 miles removed- do not and can not understand. Different paradigms. You dream of material success more than religious and nationalistic success. They dream the opposite.
14. Didn't PA claim 11m in 1948?
William ,   Israel   (01.03.10)
So, aren't there like 500 million "palestinians", including Jesus and all his followers?
15. #7 - Many "Pals" outside the region tried to help Arafat
William ,   Israel   (01.03.10)
"Palestinians", mostly Christians, living outside the region invested a lot of money to help build up the area. Most notable was the casino in Jericho which Arafat's terrorists used as an attack center and lost the rights to immediately. One businessman confided in me that he would rather invest in Israel than with the PA; Israel is more stable and honest, where as the "pal's" leaders are corrupt and extort huge amounts of cash.
16. 7 million? Didn't they claim Israel was committing genocide?
William ,   Israel   (01.03.10)
The Leftists and Arabs claim Israel is committing a genocide of "palestinians", albeit a slow one. With growth numbers of 2.9% and an average of 4 children per household....sounds like the "pals" are just like any other population who receives free housing, free healthcare, free education.... Obviously, Israel is not doing it correctly, which is why Hamas really wants to show the Jews through example.
17. #11 - Once established, a State can offer immigration policy
William ,   Israel   (01.03.10)
The "paletinians" can offer whatever they want to those is the diaspora once they achieve a sovereign State. Until then, they have no right to set immigration laws. Israel, being a sovereign State, can offer immigrations to whomever it wishes, whether it be under the auspice of where their ancestors once had a State and Judaism was created/flourished, or simply because living as a Jew in Israel is very easy. However, Israel doesn't make the immigration policies of Germany, like the "pals" will not make immigration policies to Israel. The Right of Return could extend to "pals" in the diaspora, but only to Ramallah or Gaza City. You bring up an interesting point - "Pals have a right to live where their ancestors once lived" - you're right, and they can in the States their ancestors lived, which according to British census and other documents was: Iraq, Egypt, Tunisia, Bosnia, Yemen, etc.
18. a miracle!!!
JK ,   L.A., USA   (01.03.10)
What a miracle of miracles!!!!!!!!!!!! After the allegged "Palestinian genocide" there are millions more palis!!!

21. MATTY GRAVES...FORGETS ALL IMPORTANT POINTS
ABRAHAM ben JACOB ,   CANADA   (01.03.10)
MATTY GRAVES...FORGETS ALL IMPORTANT POINTS..............................WHY LET THE TRUTH OR FACTS GET IN HIS WAY ? IT'S NOT HIS STYLE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE TRUTH. IF HE DID , HE WOULD HAVE NOTHING TO WRITE ABOUT. HIS " WRITING " CAREER WOULD BE OVER.
22. BLOODSHOD SCOT... CAN'T SEE THE TRUTH , SOBER UP MAN !!
ABRAHAM ben JACOB ,   CANADA   (01.03.10)
IF THE RIGHT OF RETURN OF IS APPLIED TO MEXICANS REGARDING TEXAS, THEN MILLIONS MORE ARE GOING TO POUR IN. THIS IS CONTRARY TO THE OFFICIAL U.S. POLICY, ALTHOUGH MANY GET IN AND SERVE A REAL PURPOSE BY WORKING AND MAKING MONEY. THE U.S. HAS BUILT WALLS FOR THIS PURPOSE TO KEEP OUT TOO MANY ILLEGALS. NOW, IF 50 MILLION MEXICANS WANTED TO EXCERCISE THEIR RIGHT OF RETURN, TEXAS AND CALIFORNIA WOULD BECOME PART OF MEXICO,.... MEXICAN STATES.
23.  COCA COLA AND PEPSI -- SAME THING ?
ABRAHAM ben JACOB ,   CANADA   (01.03.10)
AND THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT WAR TO WIN, THE MILITARY WAR. IF NOT, THEN ALL DEBATE AND COMMENTS WOULD BE RENDERED " USELESS ". BUT, ISRAEL DID GIVE UP THE TRADE MARK WORD CALLED " PALESTIAN ". THAT WOULD BE LIKE COCA-COLA ALLOWING PEPSI TO FREELY USE THE COCA COLA NAME SO OFTEN AND REPEATED ENDLESSLY OVER A LONG PERIOD OF TIME, THAT THE NAME COKE CAN BE MISTAKEN FOR THE NAME PEPSI. NOW, PEPSI, BY REPEATED AND UNCHALLENGED USAGE WOULD ALSO " OWN " THE NAME OF " COCA COLA " THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED TO ISRAEL AND THE PEOPLE WHO TOOK THE NAME OF " PALESTININS ". THE TRADE MARK NAME OF " PALESTINIANS " WAS USED ENDLESSLY AND THIS NAME WAS UNCHALLEGED NY ISRAEL AND THE WORLD ACCEPTED THIS WITHOUT QUESTIONING. YES, IT IS ISRAEL AND WORLD JEWRY WHO ALLOWED THESE ARABS TO USURP AND USE THE TERM " PALESTINIANS " THESE ARE ARABS, FROM LEBANON, SYRIA, ARABIA ETC. AND THEY CREATED A NEW PHENOMENON, ...... A HOLLYWOOD -TYPE PERSONA .... AND THEY DID CONTINUE THIS LIE IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE WORLD.
24. Israel has 8000 square miles, and
David ,   Cranston   (01.03.10)
Twenty Two Arab League Nations have 6 million square miles. 850,000 Jews were forced to leave the arab nations and they were integrated into Israel. The armies intent on destroying Israel in 1948 forced 720,000 palestinians to leave and with the exception of Jordan didn't integrate them but instead put them in camps to show the world how bad the Israelis were. They got into UNRWA's perpetual refugee program and got paid to have babies and that's why they have 11 million now.
25. one state solution
Barney; ,   USA   (01.03.10)
the State of Israel, the home of the Jewish people. Where all of the arabs who call themselves palestinians is an arab problem. not a Jewish one. So anyone of you 22 muslim loving nations of islam. take in your brothers. don't leave them in refugee camps as you have for 60 years. you can take them in and then if you don't like them just behead them in public like anyone else who "insults" you or your religion. arabs loyal to Israel the welcome mat is open to you if you accept living in a Jewish country.
26. Did you say a “Palestinian people”?...
Ron B. ,   Lod   (01.03.10)
According to Zahir Muhsein, the leader of the al-Sa'iqa Organization : “The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a PALESTINIAN STATE IS ONLY A MEANS FOR CONTINUING OUR STRUGGLE AGAINST THE STATE OF ISRAEL for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct 'Palestinian people' to oppose Zionism for tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa. While as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem.” - Zahir Muhsein, the leader of the al-Sa'iqa Organization revealed the truth in an interview to the Dutch newspaper Trouw (March 31 1977). 27. #11 Right to return where they came from
Cynthia ,   USA   (01.03.10)
There were many ancient peoples who lived in the area before they disappeared. The Palestinians are not related to any of them. The only two groups you mentioned that have lived in the area for thousands of years are the Jews and Egyptians. The Palestinians have no historical claim to the land and Israel has no obligation to give up land for their benefit.
28. to #1 you said jews not Israelis
ghostq   (01.03.10)
cause not all Israelis r jews, before you blab check your facts many jews were born outside Israel for over many generations after more 2000 years of exile, depends which one the first Temple or the Second one. all your data is wrong, and the biggest absorbtion belong to the USA, after USA it's EUROPA, so many arab immigrants there. go check it I dare you.
29. to #11 palis can't claim nothing cause they got no colective
ghostq   (01.03.10)
past or history, many of them r from bedouins origins aka desert nomads. and the Canaanites by marrige got mixed into jews, jews even got cnaanite religious rituals that not connected with Abraham, even the relics show that, oh and the PHILISTINS were greek origin and the classic greek were never in Israel they tried but were defeted, during the second temple era, you just proved jews were there always and that is their homeland, palis r just another historical phase. and the one state for Israel and palis is not relistic cause it won't solve the problem of land ownership, you will creat nation with civil war, plus the gap between Israelis r very wide, and I am not talking on the jewish population.
30. to #17 according to his logic jews will
ghostq   (01.03.10)
be able to return to Jericho cause if arabs can so jews can, to live anywhere they please, and the setler won't be called setlers, this goes both ways, after all it is jews ancestors land.
