At least give these people credit for reviving an essentially dead language and taking it out of the synagogue and into the streets. And while Israelis should certainly learn English, there's no reason to confine Hebrew to the synagogue where they don't even speak the idiomatic Hebrew that people use in their everyday lives. In fact, my husband used to say that somebody speaking to him in the Hebrew they teach in yeshivas in this country, would be like somebody speaking to me in Shakespearean English.
7. #5
Noa ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (01.05.10)
Actually, according to dictionary.com, spelt is also correct (in addition to being a grain). I guess this talkback has become a spelling lesson for all of us...
8. #3 - spelt
