so may all Israel's enemies perish.
2. sharon did destroy israel
nimrod ,   jerusalem   (01.04.10)
he destroyed israel with the disengagement, that idiotic chaim romon is still prowd of it, he just can't admit that they made ã big mistake.
3. Sharon
frank ,   israel   (01.04.10)
Nice that your "mouth-piece" is a convicted sex offender....wonder what that says.....
4. A Legend!
Steven Stein ,   New York New York   (01.04.10)
He was a great leader and He was a great General and He does not need to go through pain they need to take him off and let nature take its course, I love Sharon, but in my heart he is not returning, i feel for the family and people who really liked him. In the end he was Israels George Washington Sharon was a legend!
5. What's this coma nonsense? He is a security prisoner or a
Rivkah   (01.04.10)
medical or political or religious or family prisoner. But perhaps that is the only way to protect him. He is loved by Y'hovah, so a lot of people hate him. Maybe he is hiding out until his son Omri is pardoned and restored. There is much here that is unsaid.
6. Excuse me... Who misses him?
Arthur ,   SF, CA   (01.04.10)
7. life
colin   (01.04.10)
Sharon was maybe the bravest, most demanding army officer. in the history of the IDF. As most people went into politics and to-day can be said the was the worst Israel ever had. His every move as politician was always groveling to please the americans,The UN the EU He forgot he was Israeli and Israel will still suffer many years of turmoil.
8. He did wrong with Gush Katif but even he doesnt deserve this
Baruch   (01.04.10)
9. Arik we miss you
robyn ,   Johannesburg, SA   (01.04.10)
Since Arik was snatched away so suddenly there doesn't seem to be a vision in Israeli leadership. The disengagement from Gaza surely was part of a plan that didnt manage to materialize? Arik was a stratergist; he would never have left Gaza to rot and infest Israel the way that it has... Where to from here?
10. no he isn't the Israeli political situation
ghostq   (01.04.10)
can mannege very well with the non vision legacy he left behind, all he wanted is more gov power for himself, the other just afraid cause right wingers try to under mine them, than that the only excuse for not following the right. cause Kadima is bunch of bitter people who got no idiology back round but selfish need to be in the gov.
11. to #5 you right his situation is unknown
ghostq   (01.04.10)
god save his soul for now.
12. if its legal withdraw treatment & allow him to die
zionist forever   (01.04.10)
In his career Sharon made mistakes especially withdrawing from Gaza which was a gamble and if it had gone right it could have been good for Israel. It was a political move designed to get concessions out the US on issues like Judea & Samaria. The political side did work but the security side of things didn't and we got a nightmare. In general though in the post oslo era he was one of the best PMs and probably the only real patriot we have had. Rabin & Peres idealists & Peres still inisists that it can work if we make enough concessions. Barak & Bibi ambitious career politicians, who have Nobel Prizes flashing in front of their eyes & are unwilling to take on the US for long. At least with Sharon in general what you saw is what you got and he pushed Bush around when it came to politics not the other way around. He wasn't perfect but I think that since Gaza although it deserves criticism he has been demonized to much. I think that right now its time to withdraw medical treatment allow him to die. Even if he does come out the coma he will be a vegetable so is it really in his interests to continue treatment?
13. Mr. Sharon's Ultimate Legacy will be...
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (01.04.10)
that he evicted Jews from the their homes in the Land of Israel. All else that he ever did will be forgotten.
14. GENERALISIMO
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (01.04.10)
Sharon was a great fighter and general. As a politician he created an Israeli version of a banana republic, with to much power for the PM, with no checks or bounds. He was a human bulldozer, willing to destroy anything or anyone standing in his way. As is custom with to much power, corruption followed and has become an accepted part of our landscape. His illegal start of Kadima, after being elected as Pm on a Likud platform by the public, has created an avalance of dirty politics, in a already Bolshevik sytem. For someone who loved power so much, without any regard to his citizens, to end up like this, is nothing more then a measure for measure judgement.
15. Ariel Sharon was
bruno ,   bouxwiller   (01.04.10)
respected and feared by the enemies of Israel. this is a very good quality. May the God of Israel have mercy on him and save his soul.
16. He moves slow, should be easy to find.
Jo ,   TA   (01.04.10)
17. Sharon is
haider ,   Gothenburg, Sweden   (01.04.10)

18. wake up sharoon and see what babies are doing
sharooooooooon ,   telaviv   (01.04.10)
we miss great leaders, the leaders level is detorirating and getting to the bottom, iam affraid that someday we will lose it all because of the existing lousy lheadership, danger bell is ringing now!!!!!!!!!!!
19. THE NAME OF SHARON ...
Atilla Karagözoğlu   (01.04.10)
... is the number one name I know much from Israel. *** Ariel Sharon ! *** I have seen a documantry about him years ago. If I remember right ! HE LOST HIS SON TRAGICALY. *** I have also read about him as BUTCHER SHARON on some politics web sites. *** I didnt know Sharon founded Kadima until this news. So I see now. Sharon died and Olmert did become PM ! I see. *** I NEVER DID THINK OF SHARON AS LEFTIST ! NEVER. Kadima is a leftist party, right ! *** I also remember one more thing just now ! that is when Sharon was alive, THERE WAS A BIG SETTLEMENTS PROBLEM. I THINK SHARON ORDERED AND THE ISRAELIS WERE MOVING BACK FROM THE PLACES TO LEAVE THE PLACES TO THE PALESTINIANS ! *** Butcher Sharon !!! did order the israeli settlements to move the places where they live to the palestinians ??? *** life ! simple life.
20. Haim Ramon is a sexual predator! why is he not in jail?
leftists are the ,   enemy   (01.04.10)
21. Let's be honest
MEIR ,   Beit Shemesh   (01.04.10)
Both Sarid and Weiss are wrong. Mr Sarid, he was not the monster you made him out to be, hde defended Israel from his heart, and Daniella, he was not a destroyer. He built everything you have. He saved Israel in the Yom kippur War. However like all strongmen, he became prime minsiter too late in his life. He like Begin then tried to change public opinion of him as a hardliner, by undoing all the good he did. I wish there was a law that would not allow a prime minsiter over 70, for 2 reasons. 1) So no hardliner will have conscience in his old age to undo all the good he did earlier, which was not appreciated by the lefties. 2) Old men cannot and must not decide the future of the next generation. Only the next generation can too that. Anthing else is unethical. If the above were done, we would remember Sharon in such a different light.
22. great father
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (01.04.10)
Whatever his legacy, he was a great father. Remember how his sons were in trouble with the "Greek Island Affair"? He managed not only to get them out of trouble, he managed to get them well-paying jobs.
23. Sharon will be to Israel what Al-Jimmal Carter is to the US.
Remembered as the ,   WORST LEADERS EVER!   (01.04.10)
24. We miss you Arik
ajax ,   Israel   (01.04.10)
It hurts to think that just 4 years ago we had this great leader, and now we're stuck with this small time opportunist of Bibi.
25. Sharon will always be remembered for throwing out his own
Ari ,   Netanya, Israel   (01.04.10)
people from their own homes in their own land, despite the many good things he has done. His last act of leadership will be the one that will always be remembered and will stain his legacy forever. He was a great warrior and leader until evil entered him.
26. Ariel Sharon
Cynthia ,   USA   (01.06.10)
I consider you a great Israeli leader and wish I could have met you. In retrospect, you showed the world that giving the Palestinians land does not bring Israel peace.
