1. Egyptian Micky Mouse Imams....
Marco ,   Spain   (01.09.10)
"Hamas to blame for blockade on Strip, its leaders want to stay in power even at cost of their people's starvation". Hamas wants to stay in power because it was elected in a landslide by the people of Gaza. An election that was certified by the international community as fair and square. On the other hand, the last time there was a presidetial election in Egypt, I listened with amazement to an interview with the leading opposition canidate who said that he would be voting for Mubarak because he is "the better candidate". In Gaza, its democracy, in Egypt, its Hosniwood. Hosni Mubarak and Israel are equal partners in the crime of starving the people of Gaza. As for those so called Imams, they should be more worried about democracy and the state of the economy in Egypt itself. Have they forgotten that things are so bad that some Egyptians are sleeping in cemeteries? Do they know that Hosni has been in power forever and that he is preparing his son to inherit the presidency?
2. State-controlled Imams and Media
David Appletree   (01.09.10)
In Egypt the media and Friday sermons say what the Egyptian government tells them to say.
3. #1 You Just Don't Get It
Dan ,   Titusville, FL   (01.09.10)
Those zany Gazanians act exactly like undisciplined spoiled children. They have no interest in anything but continuing their rioting. The Germans elected Hitler but that did not make his actions legitimate. What does it say to you that NO other Islamic country sends anything but weapons to Gaza? No other Islamic country allows Palestinian refugees in to its borders? Jordan, the ancestral homeland of Palestinians will not allow them on Jordanian soil. They have made themselves the cursed of the earth and no one gives a damn about them and neither should you.
4. It is correct that thousands Egyptians died for Pal nonsense
Alan ,   SA   (01.09.10)
Israel has never had ANY territorial dispute with Egypt EVER-not in 48 and not today....All those Wars were for a Palestinians Benefit Concert!. If Egypt and Israel had co operated all the in Science and Industry they would be a great force and massive economy for BOTH . .Instead all those $$$$ wasted on weapons. All those brave soldiers on both sides who fell ,fell for nothing! Just to keep Mufti Haj Amin Husseini then Arafat's and Hamas' Gangs in power . Egypt is thanked by having viper nests in employ of Iran along Suez Canal waiting to strike at Egypt by attacking boats using that waterway
5. No one cares about imams of Egyptian corrupt regime
WA ,   USA   (01.09.10)
6. Egyptian truth will slowly drain
Anon ,   Johannesburg   (01.09.10)
into the rest of the arab world! Arabs and Muslims alike, stop your support for Hammas/ hizbola and start supporting peace in the middle east. If the Arab street will riot for peace we will ahve peace
7. i cant believe israel is supporting a dictatorship in egypt
chilem ,   arlington,usa   (01.09.10)
zionist will glorify any regime that supports and aids the occupation of palestine. look who israel's arab allies are in the m.e. egypt, jordan, and saudia arabia(all dictatorships). the reason egypt govt. is afraid of hamas is because egypt has no democracy and they fear many egyptians will see that and start to demand change inside of egypt. if i was hamas i would leave egypt alone and get iran to help rebuild the seaport and the airport and start using those to get material in. this way u are not infringing on anyone's borders. now if israel tries to stop hamas from using its on seaport and airport then i think hamas should reactivate the suicide bombers. egypt u r overtly starving the people of gaza out and this will be the mark u have left for future generations to judge
8. Music to my ears
meL ,   LA2TLV   (01.09.10)
FINALLY we see an Arab country criticizing Hamas and declaring the real truth: that Hamas is to blame for the blockade on Strip, and that its leaders want to stay in power even at cost of their own people's starvation. If more Arab countries stopped their blind support of terrorism, we might actually see some forward movement.
9. 1 2 5 7-U cant believe your DC hero is getting his own way.
(01.09.10)
10. all israel m.e. allies r dictators(sa,jordan,egypt)
chilem ,   arlington,usa   (01.09.10)
the facts are clear hamas won elections and because of that israel and its goon allies created this blockade to punish the palestinians for their democractic choice. israel is saying to the pals u better choose who we want u to choose if not we will starve u out. these are the facts. u cant say the blockade is becuz of rockets becuz rockets were flying into israel when fatah/dahlan was in power in gaza and u did not blockade gaza then, israel only blockaded the strip when hamas gained political power at the expense of israel's puppet power(abbas). the facts are clear hamas is more democractic than the egyptian govt. those immans who made those statements probably cant even vote in egypt so they should shut up. its similar to the usa when they had black men who couldnt vote in the usa go fight in vietnam for the vietmanese socalled freedom and democracy. egyptian immans should wonder why there's no democracy in egypt. My question to all u supporters of this egytian govt. assault against gaza is do u honestly believe egypt is a democracy, if u cant answer that question then u have no business commenting on anything about egypt. i wouldnt support a regime who kills and oppresses its own people. nazi germany was more democractic than present day egypt. so in essence u r supporting a dictator thats worse than hitler.
11. both egypt and hamas deserve death
Yaniv ,   Israel   (01.09.10)
they cant wait to attack us because of them lot of weapons get to their dirty hands!
12. PR trouble in the hamas camp ;)

JMK ,   NYC   (01.09.10)
14. oh, the sweet irony, Mr. Galloway!
LOL!   (01.09.10)
It canee be good for your vote numbers back home in Londonistan, laddie!
15. "Chilem" lacks objectivity:
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (01.09.10)
Hamas is so "democratic" that it throws its opposition (Fatah) off of three-story high rooftops and shoots its opponents in the knees, incaptacitating them for life. Somehow, "Chilem", in his gross intent to celebrate this "democratic movement", refuses to recognize the facts. Well, he is a Hamas sympathizer. What should the Reader otherwise expect?
16. #1 Electing Hamas was poor decision
Cynthia ,   USA   (01.09.10)
Under Hamas leadership, unemployment has increased to 45% and the people remain welfare dependent. Those with college educations leave because there are no jobs. The only industry that flourished to date has been terror through use of child labor. The steel gate should cut into the weapons smuggling business and the iron dome will frustrate their efforts. Hamas hostility to Israel provoked Cast Lead and now Hamas needs more donations and world sympathy so they continue to fire kassams and mortars at Israel. They have absolutely no concern for their own people and could care less whether they have jobs, food, security or any hope for a future. Don't blame Egypt. Blame Hamas and Fatah for perpetrating the conflict for self-gain.
17. Name one Arab democracy
Edward   (01.09.10)
Lebanon? - Hizbollah rules with Iran's blessing and support
18. Hamas leaders want to stay in power at cost of its people
AC ,   NYC   (01.09.10)
Marco, Hamas won an election to goven Gaza ONLY as a town. Hamas was not allowed to keep an ARMY or to Run Gaza as a country. Gaza and Hamas IGNORED their own territory's CONSTITUTION. The Palestinian Authority is supposed to be in charge of ALL Palestinian territories. So Marco, the elected Mayor of Madrid has to abide by Spain constitution isn't. Do not confuse local mandate with a total country mandate. ENTIENDE
19. kiling a compatriot you call control media, give me a break
AC ,   USA   (01.09.10)
People forget to read carefully the whole article. The comments are against a coward who killed a LAW ENFORCEMENT citizen in his OWN COUNTRY.
20. pure ignorance PALESTINE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A COLONY
ac ,   NYC   (01.09.10)
First of Hamas is not using suicide bombing lately because of the Israel defense and BLOCKING OF HAMAS. That is the reason why Gaza is blocked. PALESTINE has never been a free country not even under their Arab Muslims rule. So Palestinian territory can not do any business with Iran to rebuild ports. Thats why they have to SMUGLE WEAPONS like criminal cartels.
21. Gaza and US both voted democratically-see what they both got
Alan ,   SA   (01.09.10)
22. to AC
chilem ,   arlington,usa   (01.09.10)
u need to read more and research more, hamas was not elected to govern gaza only. first off its not a town gaza has many cities inside of it.(so u might not be educated enough to have a convo with me) secondly hamas won general PA election which cover gaza and the west bank. haniyeh is the prime minister of all of palestine, it was abbas and his goones on orders from israel/usa that broke up the unity govt. first off hamas won in a landslide but compromised with fatah for the benefit of palestinians they formed a unity govt with fatah which the corrupt in fatah tried to use to oust hamas in gaza. u need to get ur facts straight, u lost all credibility when u said hamas won elections to govern gaza and that gaza is a town. but what can u expect from a american
23. Well, the same Imams sided wit the U.S.
Observer ,     (01.10.10)
agianst Iraq and justified the U.S. bombing and the killing of hundreds of thousands of Iraqui civilians. These Imams are dance to the tunes of Mubarak just like any Belly Dancer dances in Al Haram Street to the tunes of Abdul Wahab.
24. gaza elections
paul ,   hamilton, canada   (01.10.10)
Like any elected "government" they can be un-elected in the next election. Pardon my ignorance but when is the next election due in Gaza. The result of this next election will go along way of indicating whether or not the people are starving/suffering due to their political choices.
25. Prove it #23
Better Observer   (01.10.10)
as usual you lie and make no sense US killed in military action 10,000 of Saddam Bahatists and Al Qaeda Jihadis, and a few hundred civilians as unintended collateral damage The other 140,000 dead Iraqis since 2003 were murdered execution style by Saddam Bahatists and Al Qaeda Jihadis but even these numbers pale in comparison to Saddam causing the death of 2 million people in the course of the last 20 years of his rule
26. Egypt vs Iran
Jack ,   USA   (01.09.10)
Chilem, your comments, too me seem misguided. You state Israel is supporting a dictatorship in Egypt. But advocate the Palestine' s using Iran to help rebuild Gaza. Iranian clerics are worse than the old Soviet Union when it comes to dictatorships. Any government who fears the free will of its citizen is no government, but an oppressor. Don't believe me? look at the citizens of Iran. They live under oppression because their leaders fear the free will of its people. They like Hamas fear loosing power. Being voted out because the masses do not support government policies.
27. Gaza Water park ?
Pro soldier ,   San Juan   (01.10.10)
I hear Israel & Egypt going to create the gazinian water park in gaza i hope they built a hotel too ;-)
28. KILLING EGYPTIANS WONT LIBERATE PALETINE
Jojo ,   PRT WASH NY   (01.10.10)
For once, the Imams of Egypt are correct. Since there isn't and never was a palestine, killing is 'murder' Your Farouk killed (sacrificed) 1000's of your sons in '48 ; Your Nasser sacrificed many 1000's more in '67 ; Saadat, not wanted to be overdone, sacrificed many more 1000's of your loved ones in '73. FOR WHAT? THINK ! Of all your not so glorious leaders, none ever hinted that he was willing to sacrifice himself. Nasser, the biggest of them all, was ready to send to the killing field, ONE million of your sons. sadly, like most if not all Muslims, you " never miss, missing an opportunity " Uncontrollable hatred blocks your mind, blinds you to the reality of the modern world; thanks to your education, your mosques, your clergy. Finally, something happened a few days ago. The thugs running Gaza decided to teach you a lesson ---and killing is the only education they are getting. So they shot and killed one Egyptian, and the whole of Egypt reacted the way a normal, decent people would react by this unprovoked murder of one of it's son.On the other hand, did you know that in November/December alone, Muslims slaughtered/maimed 4300 muslims (verified). I don't think that you want to be part of it. Egypt has a staggering problem; it cannot feed ,clothe, house, and provide work for millions? .Common sense would dictate that since we have a peace treaty, you should be able to cross the border and get to work. Instead we import 1000 of foreign workers from distant lands, we relocate plants, factories overseas as well. Of course we could build together factories, use manpower in our fields, construction and more. we could help in solving the problems of water, food, energy, health, by working side-by-side. Your past leaders sent the flower of your youth to fight, kill and be killed. The called it glory. How about a glorious leader able, willing and capable of giving you bread, work, good education, self respect, instead of the typical "brainwashing" that leads to nothing but poverty, misery, and no tomorrow for your children. PS; did you know that hamas is infiltrating Israel by the thousands, in order to work here.
