1. still talking and doing nothing...
Jon S. ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (01.10.10)
Barak promised the completion of a fence by 2010, this is unbelievable incompetence. We are being flooded by 10s of 1000s of economic migrants claiming to be refugees and the govevernment STILL does nothing but talk. 200 new arrivals a week! The Sudanese in particular know that as soon as they enter Israel they effectively make themselves refugees as Israel is unable to return them. In Sudan itself however, the conflict is over in Darfur and refugees are returning to the South. Migrants are not coming from Cairo, they are coming from Sub-saharan Africa with the intention of settling in Israel (easy, cheaper, quicker, safer to get to then Europe). We are also perceived as soft on illegals. Make no mistake, those here already are here to stay and no incentive exists to stop further infiltrations. The left ofcourse welcomes these new comers (we are a State for all citizens afterall) and feeds the media with ridiculous sob stories. Indeed, the general Israeli perception of these illegals is that they are running away from carnage in Darfur. While only some 5% of all the infiltrators are from Darfur, even these had been living in Cairo for many years before paying people traffickers and bribing Egyptian border guards to bring them into Israel. They could quite happily go back to Sudan now, but can't as they have now been to Israel. This is purely an economic migration and must be stopped immediately along with mass deportations. The fence must be started yesterday - not talk for another 6 months. Stop talking - you've been talking for 3 years while 20,000 illegals came here. Try to actually IMPLEMENT a policy.

Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (01.10.10)
will destroy Israel too if you listen to the bleeding hearts that say they should be allowed to stay. The illegal aliens pay no income taxes but suck up social services and lower the wages legal citizens get paid. Deport all illegal aliens and take care of the people who are legally Israelis.
3. If the kids climbs over the border fence
Rankoo-Karoon ,   USA-Israel   (01.10.10)
If someone climbs over the border fence give them a chance for citizenship status on a basis of watch. Really at this point in time they took the razor blades they climbed it they made it over maybe they deserve a chance. Rankoo-Karoon

you are not an american citizen so you should not be overly concerned with american money as it is. i think you should be much more concerned with the lands and things you stole from the original aborigines, on which land, you, by the way stole and reside.give it back!
7. Yack, yack and yack, BUILD IT ALREADY!

really don't have the problems encountered by the likes of Israel with an influx of illegal civilians who may, or may not be, terrorists, and you appear to lack the mental connections which would allow you to understand. Your anger and hostility is quite evident, however, and so is your moral indignation. There doesn't seem to be anything substantial behind your attitude, not anything that I can put my finger on. Perhaps you're just a young university student who gets carried away with politically correct causes. Sorry, Danny, the world is turning back, now, in view of the multipronged threats posed by Islamic terrorists. Most recently was the airport threat. I'm sure you are aware of it, an educated boy/man like you. At any rate, the western nations are turning to Israel for assistance in terms of how to make airports and air travel more secure. Hasn't hit Australia yet, eh "Mate"? Well, don't worry, it will. At that point, you may need to rethink your attitude of moral highhandedness.

Wonder what would happen if you built a few hundred homes for the Aborigines you displaced or for the families of the Aborigines your people massacred in wanton genocide. Just thinking out loud!
12. Irony of the Fence
John ,   Boise, Idaho USA   (01.11.10)
Israel has the right to dictate their own building and fences. This is their country..not ours and they have the right on a fence to keep out terrorists and those who won't contribute to their society. They have every sovereign right to do so and by whatever means at their disposal. Ironically, Iran is trying to load up their missles with nuclear bombs and so now everyone is concerned about a fence???
13. fence

incredible! They should be building bridges, not more fences. will they ever learn? “As long as our civilization is essentially one of property, of fences, of exclusiveness, it will be mocked by delusions” RW Emerson 1803-1882
14. Errect a DECENT fence along the WHOLE border!!!
