31. #22 your mistakes need to be corrected.
(01.11.10)
You are ill-informed, here are the corections: Since when DHKP-C is only a 'leftist group' as you argued? DHKP-C is a terrorist group as recognized by the EU, US and international community. They murdered Turkish civilians, soldiers, businessmen, and recently one of their would-be suicide bomber was caught at Bilkent University conference hall with a suicide belt. Is that what you call just 'a leftist group'? Ayone can always critize police inaction in protesting against DHKP-C, but ignoring that DHKP-C is a terrorist group is a grave mistake on your part. Would al-Qaeda members' march be happily welcomed by Americans or Germans or by anyone else in Europe? Oh, you need to get better informed, the small town where the Gypsies had a fight is a Kurdish populated town, not ethnic Turkish as you falsely claimed. Have you already forgotten recent Dolapdere incident where the Gypsies took up weapons and chased the PKK?DTP Kurdish terrorists out? Also, don't generalize Konya, the city is huge with millions of residents, and it has a large secular leftist and secular nationalist voters, Konya is not all religious people town. I don't care about your aim, but you are spreading disinformation. Also, Erdogan's and Davutoglu's strategy and policy are all in line with the US policy in the Middle East. AKP's biggest supporter in the Middle East and Europe is the US.
32. Thank you Joe,from Ramat Gan
Kemal ,   Mersin / Turkey   (01.11.10)
We too can not wait to turf out Erdogan and his entire crew in upcoming elections. He will be gone by 2011 latest.
33. Turkey and Kurdistan+Turkey with Armenian
Dani ,   Amsterdam   (01.11.10)
I don think they did use gloves how many dies between elders woman and children? how many Jews were expelled from Turkey? With Mr Erdogan Turkey has decided it role in the EU.

If only you would silently crawl back under your rock & stay there, the air in Florida would be cleaner.
35. Turkish empire is in the dustbin of history
Michael   (01.11.10)
and using Israel in a pathetic attempt to revive its former glory is a waste of time.
36. Turkey's treachery under Erdogan.
Samir S. Halabi from ,   Geneva, Switzerland.   (01.11.10)
Erdogan is a snake in the grass, he always disliked Jews, he is only pretending that he has nothing but respect for Turkey's jewish citizens. Turkey will soon realise whom their real friends are, ti maybe too leate by then when the arabs twist their daggers into Turkey's back yard. The Turkish military will soon come to their senses and expose erdogan for what he is, a traitor to Kemal mustapha's vision of a secular Turkey, never to go back or to become an islamic fundamentalist state.
37. Disproportionate force? The new slogan made on purpose for
Dani ,   Amsterdam   (01.11.10)
the Jewish Nation hypocrisy is hitting hard everywhere, what is the proportionated answer to this kind of aggressions? Is someone realizing that the Americans are going to hit the Yemen because one single terrorist made an attempt, we vice- versa cannot defend our country what is this? Equity? Is this proportional? I don't think so
38. Erdogan
Mike Van Harris ,   Antwerp Belgium   (01.11.10)
Well spoken .
39. # 31
Atheist Turk ,   Germany   (01.11.10)
Please do not make me laugh. Manisa is definitely not a Kurdish town or has a Kurdish majority. It is near Izmir and definitely in the Turkish West. By the way! The town where the gypsies where chased has a MHP (far right nationalistic) mayor. Who has elected this mayor? The Kurds? :) DHKP-C is definitely a terrorist organisation. But the police had to protect these people. Even it is hard. This is how a democracy works. But who told you, that these people where from the DHKP-C? The Turkish media just quotes: They were protesting against the American air-base in Incirlik. So what do we know? Konya is difficult, though Islamist parties get there 60-80% of the vote. Erdogan and Davutoglu are definitely not pro EU or US. Both use Erdogan and AKP as a vehicle. They think Erdogan could be a modell for the rest of the Muslim world. Erdogan works for no one apart from his wallet. Kindest regards
40. At Last It is OVER, Turkish Israeli relations is over
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (01.11.10)

41. @ 36
Kemal ,   Mersin / Turkey   (01.11.10)
Hi. I don't think Erdogan is an anti-Semite. I have seen him critizing anti-Semitism dozen of times. He believes that anti-Semitism is a crime against humanity. The problem is people like Erdogan never forgot about the days of Ottoman Empire and in my opinion, what they want is peace and order in former Ottoman territories. Well, times have changed..Someone has to tell this to Erdogan though. Turkey can never be anything like Iran or Saudi. Not 1 Erdogan,if 1000 Erdogans were in rule,it still wouldn't be enough to bring such system to Turkey..Because Turkish people(At least %95 of them) love the fact that religion and state is seperated in Turkey. And i don't expect that the army will do something un-democratic..Days of military coups in Turkey is passed.. Shalom.

its gotta be done by a separtist group in turkey to be a valid test - comparable to hamas and I think he would use disproportional force to solve the problem.
43. Atheist Turk to #31
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (01.11.10)
Atheist Turk is right on the ball on that. He wrote the facts. especially his last paragraph is very accurate. If USA is still under the impression that Erdogan and his party represent moderate Islam I would be very disappointed. Erdogan himself had declared in front of the medial that there is no such a thing as moderate Islam only a year otr two ago to the news media.
44. Turkey should develope nukes....
Marco ,   Spain   (01.12.10)
45. Viva Turkey....

I call for Turkey and Iran to acquire an arsenal of nuclear weapons immediately......
46. #5
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (01.12.10)
israel acts first because it knows waiting will turn to another holocaust. You argument is very compelling but your average fanatic does not believe in that. I lived in Iran for a very long time and I have seen enough to know that the ideology is to eradicate Israel and not to tolerate it. Do yo really think everything will be fine and dandy once Israel is gone? We don't believe that. To eyes of the fanatics we are all infidels and have to either turn muslim or die. You may not think that way but that's what begin preached all the long in Iran, Egypt, Pakistan and all the muslim countries. The parasite of ME is lack of knowledge and understanding. The only place Jews feel welcome and belong and protected is Israel. Now you take this argument and convince your boys to stop messing with us and get real about what's real.
47. Another fool

49. #45 Now you need to send Turks truck convoys with food aid
Marco El Puerco,Puta ,   MadreImperio Español   (01.12.10)
because they will wreak the economy/agriculture of Turkey and will need all the help you can give them this is how it always ends up with Islamist rule in any country
50. I read through most of the comments...
BBSNews ,   Charlotte, NC   (01.12.10)
...and it struck me how there is not a single wingnut capable of contradicting anything Erdogan said, nope, the level of the repartee' instead rose to things like "Erdogan is a loser". The thing that makes most rational people nervous is just how much truth lies in what the Prime Minister said. Israel is indeed threatening peace in the region and using disproportionate force. Swatting a fly with a 20 pound sledge hammer is disproportionate by anyone's measure. Israel does routinely violate Lebanon's airspace, this is a matter well documented. Israel should be put under the same pressure for nukes as Iran, as Israel has threatened to use them, and Iran does not even have them. And why should he remain silent? He's a head of state, he clearly sees right from wrong, and he is speaking out about it. Israel did use WP, it is paying $10 million dollars to the UN because of it. There's simply nothing untrue is his words, so where's the beef?

And what do you think Turkey and Iran Islamists will do with these nuclear arms once they have eliminated? They will do what they have always been doing for the past 1100 years, attack Europe that includes Spain to dominate and convert to fundamentalist Islam. No more flamenco guitars and dancers wil be allowed, All beautiful Spanish ladies will have to cover their faces and beautiful jet black curly hair. No more happy Spanish songs at the beaches of Majorca. I guess Ibiza will be condemned and evacuated. However there is one little problem. Before they start using their arms against Israel and the west my educated guess is that they will use it against themselves for the Shia and Sunni have to settle down their differences first. Buenas noches.
52. Turkey : Why is the AKP doing all this now?
Ron B. ,   Lod   (01.12.10)
The AKP is doing and saying what it believes: the party, rooted in Turkey’s own Muslim Brotherhood movement, has always hated Israel, and now that the AKP is comfortably in charge in Turkey, it will oppose Israel with any means available as well as promote other aspects of the Turkish Muslim Brotherhood’s agenda. Do you honestly think that trying to sound intelligent really hides the fact that you obviously have not thought things through? Do the facts really have to be spelled out yet again, or would it really make a difference? Israel is a nation that is completely surrounded by nations wanting her to disappear. I honestly don't think that we as americans can really understand just what that would be like. You might think you do but you don't. Second, in the latest example of events, how is killings 3 militants that are in the process of launching another rocket towards Israel responding with a "sledge hammer" when Isreal has been getting hit for days by rockets? Would the US just "take it" and/or negotiate if it happened to us? As for Erdogan's comments, on the nuclear weapons issue, do you think that if Israel does not have them do you think they'd admit it? It's a huge deterrent when dealing with so many aggressors that are itching to destroy you. And if the nuclear weapons were really such an issue then why do her neighbors refuse to live with Israel at all? That is the real issue. The "nuclear arsenal" they may or may not have would then be something to deal with. No one is saying that Iraq or now Iran should not exist, just that they were/are an obviously grave threat with nuclear weapons. Secondly, why is it Isreal cannot use WP but her enemies, specifically Hamas, can? Oh, and by the way, if you want to sound intelligent don't start of your comment by name calling. It just doesn't come across the way you may have intended.
54. #39 you came up with more mistakes...
(01.12.10)
Manisa is not a 'town' as you assumed, it is a city. I said to you in my earlier post the 'small town' where Gypsies and Kurds clash is mostly Kurdish populated. It is Selendi. And, yes, there are many Kurds in Manisa, Izmir, Aydin, Mugla, Antalya, Mersin, Adana etc. Even Bulent Arinc, a Kurd who is originally from Tunceli, is an MP from Manisa. DHKPC is protesting in Edirne for DHKPC members' release who were questioned and arrested due to their terrorist activities. Those arrested DHKPC members are students in Trakya University and since the beginning of these serial of protests, it was always put out very clearly by protestors that they were there to protest for their fellow terrorists' release. One of the terrorists' mother was among the first protests. They surely are the DHKPC, they themselves say it clearly since the beginning. Save your laugh to yourself and get better informed if you want to have the correct information.
55. Turkey intruding inside Irak & killing Kurds is it OK?
Joe ,   Canada   (06.18.10)
Only two days ago Turkish troops crossed the border into Irak & killed at least 4 rebel Kurds. Does Erdogan like the Palestinians more than his own oppressed Kurd citizens? He is not concerned about Turkish heavy artilery fire accross borders of a soverein state but he is concerned about what happens accross borders of a rogue non-state named Gaza. Curious logic of the demagogues.
56. What can be the excuse of being a murderer of people?
Mıhael ,   Russia   (11.25.10)
