62. Break off relations with turkey already!
jason white ,   afula,israel   (01.12.10)
Pass a law that makes travel and trade to turkey by Israelis against the law. How about a movie about the turkish genocide of the armenians?
63. to # 57
Yafa ,   Palestine   (01.12.10)
what a funny!!!!!
64. Reciprocity to this???
Turk   (01.12.10)
"Israel is interested in proper relations between the two states, however we expect reciprocity and a similar attitude from the Turkish side," Levy said in a statement. Reciprocity to this?? as you wish....
65. To: No. 59
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.12.10)
We'll be sure to pass along to Mr. Mitchell the message that the Palestinian Arabs believe he should be made to sit on the ground. Okay?
66. #59 Salma
Marco ,   Spain   (01.12.10)
Salma, Ayalon may think that he is being too smart, but in reality he is nothing but an idiotic fool. Israeli absolute arrogance is going to lead to the destruction of the Jewish people. George Orwell in his book Animal Farm implies that 'Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely'. The same is true for arrogance. Arrogance self destructs and absolute arrogance destructs absolutely.
67. When a deputy foreign minister...
Dave Wilson ,   USA   (01.12.10)
acts childishly as in the case of Ayalon. You cant help but feel sorry for the state of Israel. By acting in a childish undiplomatic manner, does Ayalon think that he is scoring a point? If you people dont start picking better leaders, then your future is bleak.
68. not nice
gokcen ataman ,   istanbul-turkiye   (01.12.10)
"we just want it to be seen that he is seated below us and that there is only one flag here" this statement is just not nice and not fit for a Deputy Foreign Minister. this behaviour reminds me of teenagers trying to survive. simply not the greatest way to show power.
69. We need to brooke out ties with Turkey
Dani ,   Amsterdam NL   (01.12.10)
They are frustrated because no one in EU want Turkey since become and "Islamic republic" .
70. To # 65 Hey Sarah..

71. to #70 lol first try to elect your parliament member
ghostq   (01.12.10)
and that if they won't kill each other, the fatah hamas agreament isn't finall. :)
72. This argument is the problem of the world
SAM ,   ME   (01.12.10)
The argument that goes if another nation does something wrong then we get to do something wrong too at the same level. What is right is right and what is wrong is wrong... stop being children.
73. To# 71 dont worry Baby
Salma ,   Palestine   (01.12.10)
Why do we elect them if your democracy country will arrest them, but about Fatah and Hamas make sure that it is summer cloud will disappear one day so dont worry !!!but tell me are you a lawyer to defend on Sarah?!!
74. turkey and israel
Yasemin ,   Istanbul,Turkey   (01.12.10)
lots of people in turkey don't like tayyip erdogan.he's too islamic for turkey, and he's hypocrite.but it's not only erdogan's fault.israel and turkey don't have a good relationship since davos(in history, ottomans were very tolarented to jewish). I want to say that turkish people are the nicest public in the world and not all of us are islamic or racist.not all turkish people are muslim.it depends to people.it depents to government(about relationship).and im sure that akp won't be the government on next election.and theres no genocide about kurds (or armenia;armenian people died because of epidemic.but world know it like its a genocide).there are terrorists(not all of the terrorists are kurd) and we have to do something for them(like other countries).
75. Israel has had enough being bashed by al the hypocrites@55
James ,   ISRAEL   (01.12.10)
Yes Time to fight back, I too say: bravo Ayalon. Time we do not put our feelings toward a discredited entityto the likes of Erdogan who has been able and be accepted in the EU. Does anyone blame them. After all if the likes of Erdogan decided to associate with THUGS like Iran,Syria and by association Lebanon that has allowed to have a state/party within its country. Goes to show why Erdogan is emulating Hizballah and turning his country back TO THE DARK AGES before Ataturk restored it into a DEMOCRACY which is now reverting to the old days. Ataturk must be spinning in his grave. Were he to be alive today-- gosh things would change and the restoration will immediately change.
76. Ayalon: diplomatic genius?
D and D ,   Israel   (01.12.10)
This is not a matter of right and wrong. It's a matter of good manners. We've shown that we (Israel) don't have any. It is embarrassing that our country's representative (shudder the thought) can't find another way of showing his displeasure with a country's behavior, except by taking away a flag and lowering a seat. Why doesn't Ayalon see understand how idiotic he makes Israel look? That, of course, is a rhetorical statement.
77. who denies holocausts?
observer   (01.12.10)
Israel is denying the Ukrainian Holodomor of 7 millions unless the victims clear the Jews from the incrimination. The Knesset, even, refused to recognize the Armenian Holocaust of one million in order to keep good relations with Turkey. Why is it illegal [in certain countries] to deny the Holocaust but it is legal to deny other genocides?
78. Finally By Marcel @17 *** Wow you are absolutely>>
James ,   ISRAEL   (01.12.10)
Spot on Marcel.Time to show Israel has some gumption to behave NOT AS SERVANTS but as a real democracy not accepting any Bu**it. The rest of our leaders seem to bend backwards to please anyone, which is not only sad,but also becomes apologetic at every turn and appeasement directly to the enemies. Time to stop being mealy mouthed and TELL IT LIKE it is,NO HOLDS BARRED.
79. to funny observer, who is not capable to observe
Kate ,   ISRAEL   (01.12.10)
To observe correctly. The why and wherefores observer. The Jewish HOLOCAUST is a unique ONE that has been systematically perpetrated solely to the Jews, for being Jews. Stop white washing your displeasure for some hidden reason. I am beginning to see how your mind works, but it will not wash sorry. The Armenian genocide was a great shame.I have armenian friends who do not even want to talk about it. Of course they are young and heard it all through their elders. Still one thing they agree upon is: That until Ataturk came into power the turkish armenians were treated despicably. Time heals all,but the Armenian Genocide will not be forgotten Incidently there are rumours of the opposite side who say the Armenians were the instigatiors who caused equal atrocities versus the turks. One must have an open mind. So,our Jewish politicians are not that stupid, they must have read or even witnessed the episode don't you know... .I know where you're coming from: i.e why did not Israel acknowledge it?....Political expendiency perhaps. Simply this, that is a blot on Israel am ashamed to say. What I'd like to see is the exposition of the turkish archives to show they have nothing to apologize for and prove it. Which brings to mind:I also like to see the Vatican open its archives hidden in their vaults for us to see about Jews,Jesus and more. You then mention the Ukranians, why is that, could it be they were part of the USSR and suffered? You sneaky devil, you purposely brought the Armeninas in to your rant.. I object at the way you show hate toward Israel. p/s Where do you live observer?
80. yes gokcen ataman you are correct
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (01.12.10)
This is undiplomatic and not fit for a Deputy Foreign Minister. But was it fit for PM Erdogan to say what he said at Davos last year? Was it fit for him to invite Khaleed Meshal the leader of Hamas (Akin to Israel inviting Abdullah Ocalan) and then hide into a factory so that media cannot take his picture with him? I can go on and on. The fact is so many of these unfit acts of PM Erdogan finally created an outburst in Israeli leadership. Is this a surprise for you or in all honesty anticipated and in the case of Erdogan and his supporters actually provoced? My guess is it is the second.
81. @40, it's not about who is pouring most oil on the fire
Suzanne   (01.13.10)
it's about the moral duty of Israel not to lower itself to this disgusting behaviour. And yes, I agree. Turkey insulted Israel way more than the other way round. But why act also like a child? The ones from the sideline will mainly see Israel nagging and acting arrogant and ignore Turkeys insults. If you want to win the heart of those on the sideline, first thing you should do is not get yourself seduced to this childish typical mid-east behaviour.
82. Kate - Israel
Ed ,   Sweden   (01.13.10)
Hello Kate! If you really have some doubts about the fact of the armenian genocide, i suggest you to google "Yehuda Bauer - armenian genocide", or read Yossi Sarids statement about the armenian genocide here:http://www.armenian-genocide.org/sarid.html or this link http://www.panarmenian.net/news/eng/?nid=37827 to read what William Schabas has said( the president of the International Association of Genocide Scholars Kind regards/ed
83. # 79
Birdi ,   Israel   (01.13.10)
Kate,Observer lives in Lebanon.
84. D and D # 76 >>.Good manners maketh men.
Stephen ,   US   (01.13.10)
So they say.But was Erdogan's manner toward the elderly Presidnt Shimon Peres during an interview in plain view of the cameras, when he did not like being interrupted, and did not like being criticised,he just up and left in a huff. Did his behaviour show good manners? I think NOT.
85. Israel has no right for to talk about Nuclear disarment
mike honcho ,   ny,ny   (01.13.10)
Israel wants everyone else to follow the rules, but its ok for them to break them because its for so called "defence".Of course Israel threatens Iran everyday.
86. Hello Ed in Sweden.Very grateful..
Kate ,   ISRAEL   (01.13.10)
Firstly Ed I did not say I was in doubt about the genocide of the Armenians. What I want is for Turkey to be honest, not by mere words, but proof it did not happen.Which they seem to persist. As far our Yossi Sarid,or this Bauer, being Jews would not satisfy me.However,i much prefer the International Association of Genocide Acholars more. Thanks again.
87. Birdi sent you a thank you response.
Kate ,   ISRAEL   (01.13.10)
about you know who. i said more, cannot remember now. suffice to say we know many lebanese posters on all our websites who proclaim it with pride. Why is this one hiding it? Thnks Birdi
88. Pleased to read your post David Israel@80
Stephen ,   USA   (01.14.10)
Firstly I say, to conform with dignity is fine and dandy. But Israel is having to deal with an Islamic state that Turkey has become. Also the egregious film they produced was not only irritating, but insulting. Calling the IDF child killers, what? Israel has had enough and with friends like them trying to patronize Israel. Erdogan has become a monster.(did he bring Meshaal along)? if he did what a blunder to be sure. I wrote about the Davos incident and saw it.When our President Peres was astonished at his behaviour, but calm as is his wont. I say bravo to Ayalon,be it undiplomatic or not, makes Erdogan worse,my point of view. Me thinks by now the turkish army would have thrown him out of office. From what I read from the posters they do not approve of him. Do you know when their elections are due,and who if any would replace him. Seeing his terroristic following and chumminess with them. The less we see of him and Gul the better. What is more,Israel should not bow down to apologize. The ball is now in their court. Let them live with it.
