Turkey certainly needed to hear strong words about their repeated racist attempts to spread blood libels about Jews but this should have been done 'man to man'. This stupid stunt has done more to humiliate us than Turkey and has also taken the focus off the Turkish blood libels and had the exact opposite effect to that required. Thankfully, Peres has acted like a man and issued an apology. Unfortunately, this stunt means that it is now virtually impossible for us to demand an apology from Turkey for their racist TV programmes.

Why is it that most diaspora Jews admire Peres' stand and regret Ayalon? The answer is simple, they are used to bow their heads! Dear Ladies and Gentlemen of the Y-net editorial board. This is not the first time I have written you about the TBer Benjamin of Singapore. The last time was just a few days ago when he wrote a TB attached to the article about the passing of the Righteous Amongst the Nations Miep Gies. At that time you agreed with my request, you re-read his post and decided to remove it. Again in today's post the TBer Benjamin writes in clear English but with a most unusual style. A style which if read by any native speaker of English clearly shows that this gentleman has a strong knowledge of the English language and that he has a clear point to make. When I read his posts it is clear that his message is messianic at best and/or indicative of mental illness, namely that he is a sufferer of the "Jerusalem Syndrome." His posts are distinctly different from those of other Christian TB posters and really I for one am very disappointed by the fact that Y-net editors are not catching this in time before posting his TBs. I do not pretend to tell you what to do about this gentleman's peculiar style and postings, I merely request that the Y-net board seriously consider a careful reading of this gentleman's posts by a native speaker with strong analytical skills BEFORE they are posted. Mr. Peres solved this because of his behaviour last year! Remember? Last year during the Gaza war the president of Turkey insulted our President Mr. Peres in a public forum. And at the end of the day Our President Mr. Peres' behaviour earned him honor and assisted our State of Israel in dealing with Mr. Ayalon's very problematic and non-diplomatic behaviours! Ayalon thought that the Israeli journalists would support Israel, so he shared the secrets of his meeting with the Turkish ambassador with them. He did not realize that they prefer damaging Israeli foreign policy and letting Erdogan get away with antisemitism in order to destabilize Netanyahu. Netanyahu thought that by implementing Leftist policies he would be loved. He brought Barak to attack the Jews and started the building freeze. But Netanyahu failed again. By apologizing to the turkish government and people , Mr.Ayalon gave a sure and healthy sign that he is NOT the nazi he seemed to be when he acted exactly the way Nazis used to act with the jews when they(the nazis) had the upper hand. By his intervention in this case compliments have to be handed to Mr. Shimon Peres which is a true statesman and has the true jewish spirit of peace and understanding.
