Rivkah   (01.14.10)
But the big quake that will likely hit California this year is where my charity is going. Charity begins at home which America has forgotten for many decades. To hell with Hurricane Katrina victims but rush to the aid of foreign countries that practice voodoo and witchcraft as national religions like Haiti. II Chronicles 19:2 in the Authorized King James Bible warns that helping the ungodly brings a curse. Helping the godly brings a blessing. Helping Haitians who practice witchcraft and voodoo and their national religion will curse America and Israel, not bless them. Such people are better off dead, especially the children since that is the only way they can get into heaven: to die as children before they are old enough to choose Y'hovah. Helping Haitians is like helping Muslims. They will only hate people for helping them and bring a curse on them. I learned that the hard way by helping sinners who hated me for being able to help. Better to let the sinner perish. Help the godly or help no one.

5. Cuban Aid to Haiti
Andrew Chermak ,   Toledo, Ohio   (01.14.10)
Cuba already had "hundreds of doctors" in Haiti BEFORE the earthquake and now they are treating quake victims in field hospitals. It's great that Israel is sending 40 doctors and a field hospital to Haiti, but why the hell didn't Cuba get top billing in this article for their hundred's of doctors? We had to wait for the final sentence of this article to know that Cuban doctors were already on the scene of the disaster.

Listen here. 2 Chronicles 19:2 must be read in context. The scripture is: "When Jehoshaphat king of Judah returned safely to his palace in Jerusalem, Jehu the seer, the son of Hanani, went out to meet him and said to the king, "Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the LORD ? Because of this, the wrath of the LORD is upon you." If you read 2 Chronicles 18 you'll know that Jehoshaphat makes an alliance with Ahab. If you aren't familiar with Ahab do some research. Lets just say the Lord hated Ahab. So when the phrase "love those who hate the LORD" is used it's pointing to the keeping of the treaty between Jehoshaphat and Ahab. This has NOTHING to do with the people in Haiti or helping the needy, godly or ungodly. Beyond that it's a direct violation of the two great laws: Matthew 22:34-40 ‘“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: “You shall love your neighbour as yourself.” On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." Denying help to the needy denies help to a creature who, like ourselves, are made in the image of God violates the first law. And denying help to these people violates the second as well for all of humanity is our neighbor. This was also taught plainly for all to see.

You are right, that is what the religious people believe. But as Jews we can not stand by and watch without helping.
8. 6 Bill, USA: If you love those who hate the Lord and help
Rivkah   (01.14.10)
the ungodly, you bring a curse not a blessing. Loving the Lord with all your heart is not the same as loving Satan with all your heart. They are different people. Loving and helping those who love and obey God is helping your "neighbor" as yourself. There is no commandment to love enemies except in the Beatitudes which are rules for the Kingdom of God (Millinial Kingdom) that was rejected. So the groundrules went back to sell your garment to buy a sword, get a purse, and get a script (money and belongings and a defensive weapon). That is what Yeshua the Messiah told his disciples in the Garden of Gethsemane at the end of Luke before He was arrested. The beatitudes do not work except in God's Kingdom. The problem with being kind to those who hate you is that they will attack you, just as swine attack a person who throws pearls of God's wisdom at them which people are warned not to do. When rich Europe and rich Asia pay back America for all the assistance they have gotten the last 50 years then I will have some confidence in helping foreigners instead of Americans. America has nothing to give and has robbed its people and their children and grandchildren for generations to help others who hate us for helping.

No matter what they practice at the end of the day they are still human beings who are in desperate need of all the help they can get. Israel (bless her) is always one of the first countries to send relief & thats how it should be. No Rivkah I do not agree with you.

Why ? because this is an Israeli news website in Israel & it comes first. Appreciate the fact that Cuba was mentioned, even at the end of the article. Be assured, a Cuban news website would not mention a word about Israel sending doctors to Haiti.

turks have shown to Israel till this day for help we gave them after their last earthquake. We always try to be the good guys and the world still hates us or show apathy. Who was there to help us during the Holocaust? After the Holocaust? During the war of Independence? Who was there for us in the Yom Kippur war outside the U.S.? What about the second lebanon war? How about when thousands of rockets and mortar shells fell on our south? Who was there for us? Did anyone send a band aid or an aspirin? So we just keep on trying to be the nice guy and no one will be nice to us. The money used for Haiti could be spent here buying more medicines for the national health basket.

Rivkah   (01.15.10)
nice to Israel. In fact, the Jewish Messiah will judge the nations for how they treated the Jews who are Jews in their hearts. He is Michael the Archangel, the guardian angel of Israel and He has fought for Israel since 1948 or haven't you noticed? He cares that Jews help others. The outcomes of Israel's wars are so unusual that the US Military Academy at West Point won't teach them because the outcomes are too improbable. Emmanuel CARES!

Very true Jason, no counrty besides USA helped the Jews in our time of trouble. Its not about trying to be the nice guy, its about, "this is the right thing to do" its ingrained in us Jews to help.
