62. #51.. BASIL, THE CATHOLIC CHOIR BOY ?
ABRAHAM ben JACOB ,   CANADA   (01.15.10)
BASIL , DO YOU REALLY KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SPEAKING ABOUT ? MANY CATHOLIC TEACHERS ARE TEACHING THEIR STUDENTS ABOUT JUDAISM IN NEGATIVE WAYS. THUS THE STUDENTS NATURALLY RESENT AND HATE THE " CHRIST KILLERS " JUST LIKE THEY WERE TAUGHT AT MANY CATHOLIC SCHOOLS. AND WHEN THEY HATE JEWS, THEY ATTACK ISRAEL RIGHT AWAY. I WITNESSED THIS MYSELF WHEN I WORKED WITH A FRENCH CATHOLIC MAN. AND DESPITE ANY TRUE FACTS, HE ALWAYS BLAMED ISRAEL NO MATTER WHAT. HE WAS TAUGHT THIS BY HIS TEACHERS AT CATHOLIC SCHOOL. IT IS A PROVEN FACT IN COURT CASES THAT MORE THAN A FEW CATHOLIC PRIESTS MOLESTED YOUNG BOYS AND WERE VERY HATEFUL TOWARDS THE " SAVAGE CANADIAN NATIVES " AND TREATED THEM VERY POORLY AS SECOND CLASS PEOPLE. IS THIS WHERE BASIL LEARNED HIS HATRED FOR JEWS AND ISRAEL, BECAUSE IT IS REALLY EVIDENT IN HIS TAKBACK ARTICLE. BASIL WERE YOU A CHOIR BOY AT CATHOLIC SCHOOL ? AND WHERE WERE YOUR LEADERS WHEN JEWS WERE BEING MURDERED IN EUROPE BY THE NAZIS. NOT ALL OF THEM KEPT QUIET, BUT MANY THOUGHT THE JEWS WERE BEING PUNNISHED FOR BEING " CHRIST KILLERS ".

and these politicians want to secure their salaries from the CJDL. However, not to worry, George soros will be more than happy to compensate these groups. All they have to do is apply to the Open Soicety Institute OSI and they'll get the funding because good ol' George likes to spite such narrow minded politicians.

Sam ,   Canada   (01.15.10)
Canada supports a 2 state solution of Jewish and Palestinian states. The Palestinian solution is 2 Palestinian states with no Jewish Israel. To that end Palestinians are trying to stigmatize Israel around the world. The Harper government will have none of that and unlike many naive people in the West is not fooled by Palestinian declarations of support for 2 states.

Well put it this way: when we Jews are offended, we don't take to the streets shouting death threats. We don't rant and rave and scream in public, curse the authorities or any of the other foul behaviour displayed by Moslems when they perceive even the slightest insult. We have sat down for centuries under political villification - cartoons, articles in the press etc., and should we have dared utter a word we would be at best ignored or have "freedom of speech/press" quoted at us. yet look what happened in the aftermath of the Danish cartoon.

1. The settlements are fully legal under international law. They are built on non-sovereign territory which was acquired by Israel in the course of fighting a defensive war. Read here: http://www.globalpolitician.com/24388-israel-jerusalem Although you would benefit from reading the treatise in its entirety, feel free to scroll down to the section titled "Law on Israel's Takeover of 1967 Lands." Read both subparagraph 1 and 2 -- the first examines the issue under Security Council Resolution 242 (it is neither binding nor enforceable, as it was issued under Chapter Six of the United Nations Charter, and not Chapter Seven). The second section discusses Acquisition of Non-Sovereign Land in a Defensive War and concludes that international law does not preclude Israel from retaining AND settling Judea and Samaria and, in fact, fully supports Israel’s right to do precisely that. 2. Care to explain how Palestinian human rights are being violated by Hamas launching Qassam missiles into civilian population centers in Israel? Israel was subjected to eight long years of daily missile barrages before resorting to a military solution (nothing else worked). Perhaps you can also tell me how Palestinian human rights are being violated by Hamas and Hizbollah's strident and frequently expressed goal that their intent to destroy the "Zionist entity" (that would be the State of Israel) and to effect the extermination and/or expulsion of the Jewish people? Canadian funding was cut to organizations whose support of Hamas and Hizbollah was both vocal and financial. Seems to me that Canada’s decision to do so will save lives – Jewish lives – while having absolutely no effect on Palestinians, because the money never reached ordinary Palestinians. Whatever was left after the usual siphoning by terrorist “leadership” for personal gain was used to purchase of weapons to be used against innocent Israeli civilians. For a very long time, Hamas also used such funds to recruit and brainwash gullible Palestinians to be suicide bombers, who would then detonate the explosives they wore in crowded Israeli buses, restaurants and hotels. In addition to violating the human rights of the innocent Israeli victims, it seems to me that the Hamas “leadership” also violated the human rights of those hapless Palestinian suicide bombers by sending them off to certain death. That you oppose cutting funding to canadian so-called “charitable” organizations that fund terrorist groups such as Hizbollah and Hamas calls into question whether you have a conscience. Do you, or are you just a common garden-variety psychopath?

JO   (01.15.10)
and such groups that compromise their values or uses it's status to promote political agendas that are contrary to the the government poliices. I would understand Saudi Arabia or Iran funding such groups- they have like policies but western countries should not. All NGO's should be examined for any hate mongering or politics that includes hatred or bais against of any "other". I am not talking of clear, logical reasoning, or discussions, or bias to any group (we all have them) and some groups do an excellent work- helping the poor on the streets, providing a good education to the needy, etc. of faith groups that promote their charity in a fair and just manner while being devote. Public tax payers money has to be used responsibly and in line with all public policies of said countries.

there is quite a huge difference between ngo's that call for violence, death to others, racism against others and pervasive hate speeches against others...than....ngo's such as jewish ones that do not do the above things. they never call for death to any minority and never have done anything resembling what this pro arab ngo's are doing in every country they exist. calls for racism, antisemitism and violence against a community should always be banned, no matter who is doing it. if jewish ngo's behaved in the manner that these arab ngo's behave, i can assure you that the canadian government will abolish fundings for them as well. hameed aboughaze, iranian hameed aboughaze, iranian

If NGO Monitor really aimed at "advance a vigorous discussion on the reports and activities of humanitarian NGOs in the framework of the Arab-Israeli conflict." It's not unreasonable to assume that they would look at f.ex NGO's that send volunteers from Europe to Israel during Cast Lead to support the IDF. Branding what theese organizations do have done as "inciting violence" is an exaggeration that can only cause further polarization in this conflict. And polarization breeds extremism. ..I don't think there exists alot of "pro-Norway" NGO's in the world. ..You are more than welcome to criticize them as you like though.

Wrong. Volunteers from Europe may have came to work on kibbutzim and moshavim during Operation Cast Lead in order to replace Israeli reservists that were called up as a gesture of support for Israel. Israel's mobilization during Cast Lead was only 5%, which is nothing, really, and there are always lots of volunteers from Europe who come to work and live in Israel. That is nothing new. For the record -- volunteers from Europe – Jews and non-Jews alike -- do not "support" the IDF -- but thanks for the good laugh while I read that particular gem. Out of curiosity -- are you related to the late, unlamented Vidkun Quisling? Your post would do him proud. That doesn't say much for you, though, does it?

Oh, you're winning? Well, that certainly explains why Hamas is bawling like a baby about the tunnel defenses which Egypt is constructing and the rather embarrassing fact that Hamas cannot even control all terrorist elements in Gaza. Hamas' plaintive bleating and wringing of hands at Israel's ability to bomb Hamas' weapons factories at will is -- yawn -- old news. Keep up all those "wins!"
81. lone soldiers brothers aren't but mercenaries
observer   (01.16.10)
American FIDF& Canadian HESEG charitable foundations provide scholarships, money to cover tuition and living expenses for former lone soldiers who wish to remain in Israel to study after they've completed their military service. Israel entices non-Israeli Jews by a double salary, rental subsidy up to 779 NIS/month, utilities subsidy up to 236 NIS/month, and an extra month's vacation time. Tax exempted funds which have have destination in Israeli army's Chayal Boded are nothing short of money extorted from the ordinary taxpayers to kill civilians in Gaza and Lebanon using heavy American weaponry. The mercenaries are morally paid in spirit, as well.
82. Americans' tax money is used to feed the lone soldiers
observer   (01.16.10)
why the Americans' tax money is used to feed the lone soldiers who are non-Israeli Jews. why American taxpayers are supporting indirectly, through the tax-exempt contributions, a process that the government condemns. Every dollar that goes to lone soldiers makes Middle East peace that much harder to reach.

You said I was wrong in that the world would still see muslim violence even if there was no Israel/Palestine conflict. Well, let's take a look (again) at the hotspots of the world, and you can give me your take on how it's Israel's fault: 1. Sudan: Arab migrants moved into Sudan and began massacring the native Africans in the tens of thousands. 2. Nigeria: Christians are heavily persecuted by muslims. 3. India/Pakistan: The war between Hindus and muslims has claimed the lives of thousands of people. 4. Shiite/Sunni rift: Even today, Yemen is firebombing Shiite holdouts along its border with Saudi Arabia. 5. Kurds: Turkey has murdered thousands of Kurdish civilians. 6. Chechnya: muslim separatists decided the best way to separate was to murder russian children in a school. They also thought that holding a theater hostage was acceptable. Of course, citing quranic verses means it's all Israel's fault, right? 7. Bosnia: do I really need to teach you about this? 8. Riots: cartoons and burqa bans make the islamic world "offended" and therefore violence ensues. 9. Indonesia/Malaysia: Christians are persecuted by ... wait for it ... muslims! Recently, 4 churches were burned to the ground because muslims were offended by something or another. 10. Somalia: the good muslims there have been fighting amongst themselves, against Christians...you name it. Please tell me how all this would cease if Israel were to just disappear.

As a Canadian, I am thrilled at the moral and ethical clarity that our Prime Minister has shown. We finally have a leader that TRULY represents the standards and values of the citizens of Canada. The few 'yappers' that have, and will comment negatively against our Conservative government are few in number, and desperately ignorant.

YOU HAVE YOUR OWN AGENDA AND BY THE WAY IT SOUNDS, YOU ARE NOT SPEAKING ABOUT DEMOCRACY AND FREEDOM.
