2. Unacceptable
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.16.10)
Lebanon has a seat on the Security Council. The sort of collusion proposed by Lebanon's president constitutes a clear violation of the United Nations charter; Lebanon should be removed from the Security Council forthwith. Does similar collusion exist behind the scenes? Oh, absolutely! But this jackass put it on the record by having his his officel issue an official press release. Lebanon must be removed from the Security Council.

4. haiti and the arabs
alexi   (01.16.10)
Haiting is hurting big time. Isdrael sent a rescue and medical team. Where is Syria, iran, jordan lebanon, Turkey and egypt. No where. Thousands of people are starving and as usual the arabs do nothing. Turkey sends teams to gaza whose own government has caused it problems because of firing rockets into israel. Gaza has a border with egypt and can trade there. israel has no obligation to trade with a country swimming in money and firing rockets at it. Nothwithstanding ayalon's reposte which was stupid and for which he should be fired, erdogan is dead wrong. Where is turkey and its aid to haiti. We klnow the whole story. Its as usual with the arabs. They are all self serving selfish interlopers.

Hezbollah would understand that most Israel want real peace and would likely accept Israel right to exist.

Tsk, tsk, "babe." Shouldn't assume facts not in evidence. http://www.aldeilis.net/english/images/stories/economicsanctions/goodfaith%20copy.pdf and http://www.un.org/en/documents/charter/index.shtml I spend an equal amount of time in the United States and Israel. Wikipedia, by the way, is useful -- just make sure you look at the citations and the references to make sure they come from credible sources. That said, the article whose link I provided was published in The Florida Journal of International Law. I also provided you a link to the United Nations Charter which comes, needless to say, from the United Nations website. Don't you feel stupid! Perhaps it would be best if you take up pole vaulting across canals, as lucid discourse and scholarship are clearly beyond your ken.

Dont you realise how stupid you sound? Its is a "collusion"??? Lebanon has the right to use its vote any way it chooses to. If Lebanon decides to vote JEWISH, I would not see you barking in protest. Grow up and get a life you dopey cow!

21. Makes sense, Israel threatens them both daily...
BBSNews ,   Charlotte, NC   (01.17.10)
...and of course Israel works behind the scenes with AIPAC and such and tries to "coordinate" US foreign policy, much to our regret and sadness. Face it, Israel threatens Lebanon, Syria, Gaza, Abbas, Iran, all of them on a long-running nearly daily basis. I suspect these alliances are going to grow because Americans diplomats are simply no longer seen as honest brokers. We are seen as collaborators with Israel's warmongering and its hard to argue against that, because the US has allowed our little client state of Israel to run rough-shod over the region for decades now, and the Middle East has gotten the message. Ponder what will happen if Turkey really does finally tire of Israel completely over its continued vile occupations and incursions, and they all align together? The mighty and "moral" IDF won't look so mighty all of a sudden. The US military has its hands full, what with Iraq, Afghanistan, Haiti rescue ops etc - and with all those Israeli insults at successive US Presidents, err, well, maybe President Obama will take the call in a day or two...
22. UN started out a good idea, now a complete failure. Move it
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (01.17.10)
to Dubai and ignore it, all that would happen is that there would be less spies in the US. The UN couldn't/wouldn't stop the slaughter of black Christians by muslum arabs in Dabfur and proved itself to be worth less than a paper tiger.
23. Hizbullah is a private revolutionary movement controlled...
Ron B. ,   Lod   (01.17.10)
Hizbullah is a private revolutionary movement controlled by Iran. The Iran-controlled Lebanese terrorist organization Hizbullah, said recently that an Israeli withdrawal from Mt. Dov would only be a start. The group claims seven Arab villages in northern Israel are actually Lebanese. In any event, both Iran and Hizbullah have repeatedly made it clear that they do not believe Israel should exist at all, regardless of border demarcations. A Hizbullah spokesman said also that the group would not give up its arms until Lebanon had another force capable of confronting Israel. More about Hizbullah (3 parts) at : http://xrl.us/oxbo6
24. More BS News
Yaron ,   USA   (01.17.10)
Your comments are brilliant. You must have been first in your class. When you stand with Iran, Syria, Lebanon, etc , you stand for tyranny and dictatorships. Set aside your Jew haterd for one moment and use your journalistic skills to see the story objectively....as opposed to your usual ignorance.
25. To: Yaron at No. 24
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.17.10)
He has no journalistic skills. He is not a journalist. He goes from news forum to news forum to news forum always spouting anti-Jewish and anti-Israel drivel. In the world of serious journalism, he's a running joke.

Oh, I know quite well how it works, Mahmood. Go back and read what I said. Back-room, on-the-quiet collusion is commonplace; openly asserting such collusion may be "honesty," but it also directly contravenes the United Nations charter and the law. Were it up to me, Israel would withdraw from the United Nations. So I don't know exactly what it is for which II should "remain prepared" .... the United Nations once had promise, but has outlived its usefulness. I would like nothing more than to see them decamp to Switzerland. The Swiss deserve them. Truth be told, I was addressing the law. Not the legitimacy of the United Nations -- it has none.
