6. Armed soldiers help protect the rescuers and aid givers
Mikey ,   SomeWhere OverThere   (01.18.10)
In a desperate country like Haiti, people will steal and hijack the aid trucks for personal profit and Chavez knows this. Men with guns are necessary to protect the rescue convoys and protect the defenseless.
7. And what if it were true Hugo?
Patrick ,   Or Akiva Israel   (01.18.10)
Dear Mr. Chavez: Let’s suppose you are correct and the US is indeed invading Haiti. Thinking this through to me it still sounds better than living under your regime, where every day I have to wonder if what I own and have worked for so hard will still be mine (or yours) when I wake up the next day. While US-style governments and economies may not be perfect, we know that yours stink. Just ask your Russian colleagues who have to help you to send aid, they learned. Have a nice day

M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (01.18.10)
Damn!! I thought we only pretended to help countries with oil. To cover up our evil intentions we pretend to go through the aid motions, like it was the case with Kuwait. Oh, wait! No occupying US forces there. Somebody must have screwed up! No telling why we went all the way to Iraq for oil, when we could have gone just a little South and helped ourselves to Chavez' oil. But we're making up for that mistake by occupying, of all the miserable, useless places, Haiti. Not only are those guys almost as good at pretending as we are, but creating that earthquake was a stroke of genius. Look at all those free goodies flowing in!! Of course, we know that they're bound to be hiding some sort of wealth behind all that abstract poverty!!! Chavez, if you haven't lost it already, you're well on the way. Why would we want Haiti when we have New Orleans???

11. US is not stupid enough to WANT to occupy Haita
Sharona ,   Jerusalem Israel   (01.18.10)
In fact who would want to occupy Haiti? Even the Haitians don't want to occupy Haiti. They want to move to the US. And certainly NOT to Venezuela.
12. Chavez = Idiot
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.18.10)
The United Nations has 7,000 well-armed troops in Haiti. Is the United Nations planning to take over Haiti, too? Frankly, not a half-bad idea. Let's move the United Nations there.
13. This man has a similarity to the Libyan president

Col. Qaddafi, a real demagogue. The country is in ruin, let Obama build it and occupy it at the same time. Super freak.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.18.10)
.... Chavez has this morning announced the takeover of the French Hypermarket chain. What a fraud! By the way, American troops are there to protect the relief workers -- and the number will be increased. Disasters tend to bring out the best in people and the worst in people. The worst is now emerging -- looting, rioting, scavenging and theft of badly-needed supplies. It would appear that certain Haitians think it is foolish to distribute food, water and blankets for free when you can sell them on the black market. Hopefully, troop presence will put an end to such disgraceful behavior.
18. You fool Chavez, you forgot the bit about...
Ahmad Ninjah ,   Iran   (01.18.10)
The Zionists having caused the earthquake. Can't I rely on you to get it right when I tell you to say something? I will have to recall you to Tehran for a 'briefing'.

Why can't a similar force be deployed in Gaza Sarah? "The worst is now emerging -- looting, rioting, scavenging and theft of badly-needed supplies.Hopefully, troop presence will put an end to such disgraceful behavior."

Ginette Golden ,   Toronto, Canada   (01.18.10)
He is as ugly as he is despicable! The ground is starting to shake in Venezuela and when the Earth will really move up and down and sideways, I hope the Americans AND Israelis won't be silly and rush there to help...They have enough of their Arab friends to help. Oh darn I forgot, they don't have doctors, only militia...oh well!

I think you need to direct your question to Hamas. I must say, however, that I am very, very surprised. I hadn't known that Hamas tolerated any competition to its looting, scavenging and theft -- isn't that something over which Hamas has scrupulously maintained an absolute monopoly? Never fear, it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Any Palestinian caught looting, scavenging and stealing in Gaza will be dealt with in the way that Hamas has always dealt with any competition -- a bullet to the back of the head. We don't agree on anything. Don't flatter yourself.

israel owes gaza nothing. the looting and scavenging and theft of badly needed supplies IS DONE BY HAMAS ON A DAILY BASIS. 1. hamas thugs stop aid at the eretz border and looted israeli trucks with aid 2. hamas thugs stole the gasoline given to gaza gas stations and kept it for themselves 3. hamas thugs looted the un aid compound and plant in gaza and stole blankets and food from the un storage house. 4. hamas thugs, knowing tunnel builders and operators make a profit, foisted a heavy tax on each operator to take a cut of the tunnel operators' profits for themselves. 5. hamas thugs stole enormous amounts of gazoline from humanitarian delivery trucks, not giving them to the gaza gas stations and keeping it for themselves. then, they staged, in broad daylight, a shameful picture to the news agency of themselves sitting "in the dark with candles", when one can 100% see that daylight through the curtain and daylight when one of them opened the door to the outside. it was all over the news. 6. hamas stole food and blankets from the delivery trucks meant for their citizens and those that they claim they are "protecting". so, stop the bs propaganda here. the only looting, theft, scavenging is done by hamas thugs in gaza...and indeed it is a very disgraceful behavior on the part of hamas. since the thugs rule gaza with an iron fist and at a point of the gun, no outside military forces would dare come in. it will be suicide. yes, the worst is now emerging because hamas indeed rules gaza where it is a thieving, rioting, violent, self interested, abusive and sacvenging entity, not only to its people it purports to "help", but also to the innocent gazans under their thumb ruled with fear and at a gun point. hameed aboughaze, iranian

quote "since the thugs rule gaza with an iron fist and at a point of the gun, no outside military forces would dare come in. it will be suicide." But you tell me the IDF, Shin Bet and Moshe are the best in the world, but now they can'tescort aid? And what about Cast Lead? They went in then!
29. How much aid has Venezuela given?
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (01.18.10)
Any at all? I'll bet that not a single bolívar fuerte has been sent. Certainly no food, water, medicine or other tangible aid.
30. To: No. 28
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.18.10)
Jordan, Kuwait and one or two other Arab states have sent teams to Haiti; as have some Moslem countries, Turkey for one. When they are through there, they are free to go to Gaza and help their brother Moslems and/or Arabs to their heart's content. That would be a first.
