1. Hmmmm
Paul ,   Trinidad   (01.19.10)
"adding land for public institutions and public needs" I wonder where they will get the land for "public" institutions and "public" needs. Hey, Ali. We need your land. Get lost.
2. True rule of law unknown in Israel, that's clear...
BBSNews ,   Charlotte, NC   (01.19.10)
3. Anyone not see the blatant double morals?
Apa ,   NYC   (01.19.10)
When Arabs build illegally, it gets torn down and the people evacuated. When Jews build illegally, the city administration bends over backwards and even plans to whitewash the illegal building afterwards.
4. Is Havillio even Jewish?
Yehuda ,   Har Nof   (01.19.10)
He doesn't act Jewish or have any love for Judaism or Israel His only connection to Judaism is playing soccer with Rav Eliyashiv's fair-haired boy Pindrus who sells his soul to Barkat for a cushy job and fancy office with perks
5. Double standard as usual.
JayZ ,   Jerusalem   (01.19.10)
Let's demolish the arabs houses, because they didn't acquire permits which by the way costs them fortunes. while lets find a way to whitewash what the jews build, free of charge. Alas, lets even fund their buildings!! they are jews.
6. Silwah Valley WAS Jewish until Arab took it over
avi ,   jerusalem   (01.19.10)
This area, just like the "Sheik Jarrah" Shimon HaTdaddik neighborhood was Jewish until Arab rioted, took over the area and became squatters. The land is originally Jewish. Now the Arabs claim it to be "historically Arab" east Jerusalem, when historically it was Jewish. Why don't they go back to Lifta Valley if they are so keen or "reclaiming" their land.
7. They are so keen to go back to lifta, but israeli authoritie
JayZ ,   jerusalem   (01.19.10)
s is stopping them from doing that. Also, lots of the people who were forced out of lifta are currently living in the west bank, mostly ramallah. Open the borders and allow them back to go lifta, they won't refuse. I urge you avi, to help them settling back in their village, or what is left from it, after cutting it all the way, and building all these roads and bridges on its lands.

Maybe he is Puerto Rican ; Julio Havillio The only reason he has his job is because he is the cousin of none other than our Former PM Ehud "cash filled envelopes, Charge the tickets twice" Olmert Does that say something about his character?????????
9. #3+#5 Get your facts straight
Amihai ,   Yesha   (01.19.10)
For each arab house destruction in jerusalem, there is ten destructions of illegal structure belonging to jews. And that's not because there is a lot more, in fact proportionnally the arabs build a lot more illegaly. But because of "pressure" and leftist self-destructing ideology, some of those case are still waiting after 15 years. And here, the permits would have been issued eventually without the building having already been built. This kind of problem is another subject and is currently under discussions in the knesset.
10. illusion of law
i ,   jerusalem   (01.19.10)
Like those who raise hell for the protection of our illusory democracy, the legal beagles are barking about law in a framework where only politically driven action is the norm. I am familiar with this building, and its residents, it is no bother to anybody in this slummy neighborhood. The street is a single lane donkey path at a 50 degree slope, with pipes embedded in the asphalt peeking through and a general back alley appearance, The building is perhaps the best in the area, and Ateret Cohanim is not stupid. Jews lived all over pre-state, and here is no different. There was a Yeminite community where Bet Yehonatan stands.
