Synagogue... singular? Thought there were at least half a dozen synagogues torched recent in Gush Katif?!?!?

Now I know why Creton is a derogatory name to call someone.
3. It's not about the damned money

What we WANT is some indication from the Greek government that they take this hate crime seriously. What we WANT is some assurance that the police force in Crete will protect Jewish antiquities as zealously as they protect Greek antiquities. Money has nothing to do with it. The manuscripts that were destroyed were priceless. Evidently the Greek government never acceded to numerous Israeli requests over the years to send these manuscripts to Israel; now they are gone forever.

I strongly disagree with you Sarah. It is most certainly about the money. Face it, we are too cheap to repair our own synagogue. I still remember the time when a few misguided Jewish fools burned the Al AQSA mosque. It was a hate crime and we did not contribute to the rebuilding of that mosque. Its easy for you to be an arm chair quarter back when you are thousands of miles away, but its us here who have to bear the brunt of the reaction to the stupidity of people like you (no offense intended).

What a shame. I'm happy to foot the bill out-of-pocket. Thankfully, a 30,000 euro expenditure wouldn't have all that much of an impact on my finances. Offense taken. Watch your mouth. I am an Israeli citizen as well as a citizen of the United States, and I spend roughly an equal amount of time in each. All Israelis -- and Jews in the diaspora -- want peace. On terms set by Israel, not the Palestinians, understand?
