1. I don't know, put aside all the nonsense they spew...
Brian ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (01.23.10)
...about victory the last time around. Look at the destruction caused to Lebanon, consider Olmert was running the show, and the IDF was treating the whole thing more as a half assed exercise than a war, and than take into consideration, that BiBi is running the show now, and Hezbollah is no longer a terrorist organization, but an actual part of the Government, I think they will be avoiding confrontation for a while more, they didn't even make a move when their buddies Hammas were getting hammered and learning their lessons. People might not be happy with BiBi right now, but you better believe our enemies, are a lot less bold with him in charge, a whole lot less.
2. Blah Blah Blah.....................
Philip ,   Afula,Israel   (01.23.10)
Whats the point of this "scare article" other than to remind us that the honourable minister without portfolio, Mr Yossi Peled is alive and well.
3. Hezbollah and Lebanon.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (01.23.10)
Three years after Hezbollah’s war with Israel, Lebanon is a divided country teetering on the verge of a civil war that is largely a result of Hezbollah’s bellicosity toward Israel and its refusal to submit itself to the domain of politics with the rest of Lebanon. Hezbollah itself is a battered and bruised organization struggling to regain its standing inside Lebanon. More about the last war and the “victory” of Hezbollah at : http://xrl.us/beee8c
4. Yossie Peled joined a party that has neglected the North!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (01.23.10)
Likud Governments channeled billions of shekels earmarked for the development of the Galilee and the Golan Heights to the Territories and now he is concerned about another conflict with Hezbollah which will affect the Galilee more than anywhere else. His Prime Minister came to the Galilee a couple of months ago and made more empty promises about employment and an improvement of services in the North. Amazing, the Treasury knows nothing about this! In fact the funds for the railway line to Karmiel are still frozen. Yossie Peled would do better by having the decency to accept the job of Health Minister instead of that of Minister Without Portfolio, a common disease in the present Government, and, with his abilities, effect changes which could help those in need of medical care in the north of Israel where hospitals don't even have MRI Units!
5. Looks like some one's asking for war..
Alex ,   Stockholm-Sweden   (01.23.10)
While Hezbollah is not even considering engaging in a battle with israel, the israelis are asking for it.
6. Your own officials state that your operation was a disaster.
Mark ,   The Netherlands   (01.23.10)
How could you guys even claim you won hezbollah?? Did you manage to get back your prisoners??NO Did you stop the rocket attacks??Definitely not. Did your ground forces have an easy time in lebanon??NO. the only thing you did was aerial bombardment along with artillery strikes, which of course caused nothing but civilian casualties. Get real, you were humiliated in that war and the world saw it.
7. Second Lebanon War can be placed at the door of one man
Eric ,   Tel Aviv   (01.23.10)
Second Lebanon War can be placed at the door of one man: Barak He left south Lebanon without a treaty or other guarantees that the north would be safe. So he is as guilty of the war as a man who lights a long fuse and then walks away is for the explosion that eventually follows
8. israel and arabs
j solana ,   san diego   (01.23.10)
it so clear, the best chance for Israel to remain, is to make a fair and honorable peace with the neighbors, sooner or later it will loose.. just check back the history.. but this time there will be no more chances at all.
9. Ron B., a tearful Lebanese President thanked Hezbollah...
BBSNews 19:32 ,   Charlotte, NC   (01.23.10)
...and Hezbollah is part of the government, it was in all the news. The only country violating 1701 is Israel with its illegal and sovereignty violating fly-overs; and they've been forced to curtail them by the UN. Hezbollah is seen as necessary to protect Lebanon from Israeli aggression. Obviously with good reason since various and sundry Israeli ministers are always coming out and ratcheting things up. Doing it at this time, when Israel is conducting gorwoingly more manacing "operations" in the north, clearly is a political move on the part of Bibi. Because everyone who is anyone knows that Israel *needs* another war, and soon. Because peace is getting much too close for the illegal colonists comfort.
10. Peled's remarks
Isaac Shladovsky ,   East Windsor, USA   (01.23.10)
I wish to support fully and completely the response made by the gentleman from Afula a,k,a #2. I recall a Yiddish proverb which says that when one talkksmuch too much you can be certain that he will end up saying foolishness, Shabat Shalom

12. Never fear, Hezbollah is near. lol
Marco ,   Spain   (01.23.10)
13. Warning!
Ram ,   London   (01.24.10)
Israel should warn the UN and the International Community that should Hezballah attack it will not waste time trying to avoid the human shields they hide behind. That's the mistake Israel made in the last war and it can't afford a repeat.
