1. and the name to blame is HUSSAIN OBAMA
zionist forever   (01.24.10)
Bush was no friend of the arabs but when he said to Abbas time to sit down and talk with Sharon & Olmert Abbas said yes Mr President and he sat down to talk unconditionally. Obama is no friend of israel and would like to see the entire country dismantles and handed over to the muslims but Abbas is saying the US isn't doing enough so I won't talk. In the beging when Obama was on a tour of the muslim world and bowing down to arab royalty he pretty much said to Abbas you tell me what you want and you got it and he was acting so hostile to Israel Abbas thought this man really was the messiah. Now Obama is starting to see that the world doesn't work in the nice simple way he wanted it to and mainly because of the midterms coming in November Obama and the fact he has been concentrating on his heathcare plan he hasn't been as openly hostile to Israel as he was and isn't delivering everything on Abbas list as promised. So now Abbas is acting like a spoilt child and having a temper tantrum and saying I won't even sit down & talk about the idea of a Philistine state until I get what I want in advance. Obama has been the peace breaker not the peace maker.
2. Of course there won't be talks, because 2-state idea is dead
Nour ,   Palestine   (01.24.10)
...as dead as a door nail. Moreover the people in polity today (Abbas, Netanyahu, etc.) are not programmed in their mind to fathom what a fair, sustainable deal looks like. Equality and justice is the key to peace. Israel wants to throw bread crumbs to Palestine and thinks we'll accept whatever is thrown at us because we're 'weak'. Well this theory is proving false, we are not weak, nor are we going to give up on our fundamental human and national rights on our land! Likewise some people on our side are willing to wait centuries til Palestine is a Judenrein. Well it's not going to happen - obviously, as it was never a Judenrein! The only logical, realistic and practical solution is a modern bi-national state founded on strong citizneship principals and an innovative representation system. I might add that the one-state solution is already here. Thanks to 'Settlers R Us'. Settlers, nice doing business with you.
3. :: The end of the Two State solution
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (01.24.10)
Well it is wholly the Israelis fault that a Two State solution is no longer feasible, a big thank you to the illegal settlers. What we need now is a statement from the Palestinians calling for the implementation of a One State solution. I am sure Jimmy Carter will gladly help out with the discussions on how best to implement this new solution.
4. To: No. 2
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.24.10)
You're welcome. I remind you that in 1950, Jordan extended citizenship to all Arabs -- present and future -- living in the West Bank. You would be well advised to take advantage of their magnanimous (however foolhardy) gesture. Palestinian Arabs living in Judea and Samaria definitely have no role in Eretz Israel. Been REAL swell. Here’s your hat; what’s your hurry? Oh -- don't let the door slam you in the backside on your way out, chica.
5. MR MITCHELL - GOODBYE AND GOOD RIDDANCE!
stude ham   (01.24.10)
we can now go on with the rebuilding of our ancient lands.
6. Negotiations
Ricardo Macher ,   KarneiShomron Israel   (01.24.10)
Abbas and friends seem not to understand what negotiation is! It's for sure not: "Give all I ask for and then we negotiate" What's left to negotiate after that? This PA entity doesn't exist but in Obama's will, let's stop playing games. Oslo was a big failure, let's call terms and offer, let's talk to the Europeans and tell them: "This is our offer, not one centimeter more, please help us"
7. "term"?
roli ,   miami beach, USA   (01.24.10)
Laughable. Abbas has been in charge of the Fatah since Arafat died. It's not any different in terms of being communist and like all the others just vassles of China. Holocaust denial was his dissertation so that makes him Nazi #1 in the international social protocol lecture circuit. All the meanwhile 39 million Uighurs die in China while his good ol buddy Osama gets his kicks from heroin in the Pashtun. Where is the next useful idiot leftist leader?
8. Start focusing on post Netanyhu.
JJ ,   SA/TX   (01.24.10)
Prepare and gear up.
9. END the reeze, the arabs will NEVER negotiate in good faith.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (01.24.10)
Build, build, build, o-BUM-a's lacky Mitchel can't make the arabs budge any more than our arab "president" can.
10. #2
Haifa granny   (01.24.10)
"Israel wants to throw a few crumbs?" Name one crumb the Palestinians are willing to throw. They are not now and never have been willing to do anything to make the peace process work. Tell me, Nour, do you know what "negotiate" means? I will tell you what it does not mean, it does not mean the Palestinians make demands and Israel folds, which seems to be what your side expects. The "Palestine" you want would as Judenrein as the Third Reich, and I doubt whether your leadership would have any compunction about about using the same methods to achieve it. Ain't gonna happen, bro.
11. Finally a PM w/a backbone. Obamma never saw this one coming
just like he never ,   saw Sen.Brown coming   (01.24.10)
12. Admitting defeat is the key to ending the arab
war aginst Israel ,   you arabs lost, bad.   (01.24.10)
13. abbas disappointed
alexi   (01.24.10)
abbas is disappointed because US cannot force israel though it has tried in obama's first year. He claims he had much better relations with olmert. That shmuck offered abbas everything and got back enemy rhetoric and 8000 missiles from hamaas without reply until cast lead. Olmert is going to jail for that unless weinstein bails him out. Abbas, who is dapper and somewhat civilized is another example of the arab mentality..." israel is too blame, give us more, give us money, give us our rights, and then we will murder israel and not set up a state. We are not interested in a state. its the same lying arab rhetoric. Olmert has left a legacy that bibi is trying to correct and it is not easy. Abbas and olmert can go party is damascus ; israel doesn't want either of them or gneim or any of their other scumbags.
14. Bye bye & don't come back.
Avi The Builder ,   Eretz Yisrael   (01.24.10)
Eretz Yisrael is not for sale.
15. Abbas was not happy with what Olmert offered, not happy no
Rebecca ,   Modiin   (01.24.10)
If he cant make a move now, then we say stop and start from scratch. We start from what we have TODAY, and Oslo, Green lines, Olmert and Livny, 67 and 48 are in the past, gone, forgotten, no longer a starting point. Be careful Abbas.
16. Start a war, then lose that war? You do not get to
dictate the peace. ,   make peace, fools   (01.24.10)
17. Bi-national one state solution?
Janice Cohen ,   Jerusalem Israel   (01.24.10)
Also a non-starter, so where do we go from here?
18. Abbas is right, Jews will only keep stealing.......
Cali Cal ,   Los Angeles, USA   (01.24.10)
and building until the United States and the world make it abundantly clear that the settlements are illegal and built on OCCUPIED LAND AND NOT THIS IDIOTIC DISPUTED TERM that the UN termed the land to placate the Jewish lobbies in the United States and Europe. Lets be real the Jewish settlers in Palestine from day one never intended to share the land but to become occupying rulers. This was Herzl's vision and cannot be denied. Negotiating while building continues is idiotic, since Oslo Israel has kept stealing land while destroying Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem as well as removing Palestinians from homes they have lived in for decades. This is disgusting and racist and I cant believe my country has supported a country that would do this. It took the US years to realize the evils of South Africa and my hopes are that we finally realize the evils of the Israeli occupation of 2 million arabs in the West Bank. Cheers.
19. Palestinians don't want a state in '67 borders
Leon ,   Los Angeles, USA   (01.24.10)
Palestinians want a purely arab state on '67 borders to start and a gurananteed temporary bi national state in Israel through transfer of "refugees" leading to a majority palestinian (former Israeli) state. Through terror and intimidation they will force ALL of THE JEWs out of Israel like they have already forced most of their christians out. The End Result will be a reunification of palestinian states into one muslim palestinian state. THAT IS THEIR ONLY GOAL. Wake up lefties!!! There are Two platforms in the palestinian society: a Hamas platform - Kill All of the Jews and a Fatah platform - First state, Second state - jews are out or few, irrelevant and scared.
20. # 10
Birdi ,   Israel   (01.24.10)
Haifa granny, you are great. Lol hakavod lach.
21. # 17
Birdi ,   Israel   (01.24.10)
We don't (go anywhere)
22. Send the illegal occupying Arabs home
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (01.24.10)
Their country was created out of 78% of the original mandate territory they can go back to that - JORDAN
23. Abass term of office
Timkin ,   US   (01.24.10)
ended 4 months ago. Today the PA legislature expired. There are no elections for any of these expired invalid office holders. Gee, maybe Abass shuld have made an agreeement with Olmert. That was last year. This is today. Obama, is weak in USA now and huge anger against him. He may have only one term like JC Carter
24. 2
zionist forever   (01.24.10)
The palestinians are not in a position to demand Israeli citizenship. Neither the palestinians, Obama, UN or anybody else can tell Israel to do that. The ONLY people who have any say in that matter is Israels jewish majority and even most seculars want the country to remain a jewish state & not a binational one. This is not South Africa where the blacks were not only citizens of SA born and bred but they were treated as less than second class citizens by the white minority. Here the palestinians are not and never have been Israeli citizens that means they are not entitled to demand citizenship of a binational state. The reality is even if we do create 2 states and Israel withdraws to the 1949 ceacefire lines once the parties are over long term a palestinian entity can never be really viable. Once the state is exists in just 22% of mandate Palestine. I think you will also find that eventually all the foreign supporters of the of your cause will look for other lost causes to support. The only viable solution is for the palestinians to accept Jordan as their state. Its a big country with a developed economy, a stable government, 80% of its population are decended from refugees from 1948 so its perfect and everybody is a winner overnight.
25. Fools
Jack   (01.24.10)
You are all fools. Israelis want every bit of land but not the people living on the land. You can't have both land and no Palestinians. You have a simple choice. Two states or one state. That is the option. The Israelis get to decide since they have all of the power. If you do not choose, it will be one state. In fact, if you insist on Jerusalem, you are choosing one state. Bye the way, Palestinians are absolutely without a shred of scientific doubt, the descendants of ancient Israelites. It is written on their genome. Simply google "y-chromosome Jew Palestinian" for genetic research on the subject. Palestine has never been juderien. Only the Israelis have ever tried to make it so by seperating the populations forceably. You loathe the descendants of yourn own ancestors and are desperatly trying to take their land instead of joining them in your mutual ancestrial lands. Ignorance And xenophobia is your guide.
26. # 18
Birdi ,   Israel   (01.24.10)
Israel is not your country. There are no negotiations at present. Israel has a 10 month freeze of building in the settlements. Read the current news dear.
27. # 19
Birdi ,   Israel   (01.24.10)
We are'nt as stupid as you think we are as we know exactly what the Palestinians want. They wont get their hands on Israel & they wont drive us out of our land. Not now, not never. We are here to stay.
28. #25 Hey, great t/b! You have displayed your ignorance 4 ALL
Ari ,   Netanya, Isreal   (01.24.10)
to see!! Way to go. Now you are what I would call an uneducated fool. Why? Well because if you remember corrrectly that Clinton and Barak damn near gave arafart everything he wanted and he, not Barak turned it down. Then Olmert damn near gave 1/2 of Israel away to Abbas and he, not Olmert rejected it. Actually, it was Mashal that was calling all the shots. So to say that the Pals really want a 2 state solution is like saying iran wants to give up it's nukes. So how many more times do you think Israel will be playing this game with these terrorist morons?? It appears to me my ignorant friend that ingorance and xenophobia is really YOUR guide. Come back and talk to us when you grow up and have done a little bit more research in Israeli history before you shoot your mouth off again and make all of us just chuckle at your inability to catch up to the reality of the real world that we are living in ok???
29. #1: This IS Not a US Problem
emanon ,   USA   (01.25.10)
If the US pushes some idea, it is the USA opinion says that the USA has no place dictating to Isreal what to do. If the US does NOT get both sides to sit down, it is the fault of the USA. When will you take reposibility for yourself? The terrorstinians created this problem, not the USA. As long as the terrorstinians can keep world opinion AGAINST Israel, they are winning. By trying to make this the fault of the US, you are aiding and abetting the enemy. Israel is an independent nation. The terrorstiniabs are NO nation. That is the problem. You can't sit down with an entity that 1) can't agree amongst them selves who represents them and 2) wants the total annihilation of Israel. It is the terrostinians that want a one state solution: ALL THEIRS!
30. To: No. 18
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.25.10)
The only illegal occupiers of Judea and Samaria are the Arabs. Please keep in mind that the West Bank is non-sovereign land; Israel acquired it while fighting a defensive war against Jordan in 1967. It belongs to Israel, and Israel can do with it whatever it wishes. Israel did annex East Jerusalem, and Jerusalem is now the eternal unified and indivisible capital of the State of Israel. Israel is free to exercise eminent domain with respect to any part of Jerusalem.
