Indeed, given its role as the de facto US Embassy to Palestine, the Consulate must be rather selective in choosing those assigned to it. Reflecting their Palestinian "hosts", they must be the most disdainful of Israel. Israel had the opportunity here to show they are not a banana republic by demanding that Laas be recalled. But from this, it doesn't appear he even apologized, rather that a representative of the embassy in Tel Aviv did so. And they're making do with concessions on their own security protocol. So maybe Israel *is* a banana republic after all.

I assume when you say "Israel's colonists" you mean "Jews living in Israel". You couldn't possibly mean "Jews living in Judea and Samaria" because then you would have trouble explaining the Hamas Charter, the PLO (established in 1964), and the wars of genocide launched by the Arab colonists in the 1920s, 1930s, 1948, 1956 and 1967.
