1. Counter attack the allegations ??
Stan ,   Johannesburg   (01.30.10)
Israel should now make a strong counter claim to the UN concerning the embedding of hamas within civilian infrastructure, their use of human shields, and damage to its own infra structures to deny it's own population sustenance - all of which are a SERIOUS War Crime - and which the Mission found 'no evidence". How many of the women and children were killed by Hamas by this (e.g. secondary explosions) ?? Israel must persue this will all it's might.
2. SUCH PUBLIC LYING ACCUSATIONS -
Arn. ,   SWEDEN.   (01.30.10)
FROM UN, SHOULD HAVE JURIDICAL CONSEQUENSES. THOSE LYING, SHOULD BE PUNISHED WITH THE SAME PUNISHMENT, AS IF THEY HAD CONDUCTED THE CRIMES THEMSELVES. THAT IS ONLY FAIR !!!. Arn.
3. well
gadi, idf ,   israel   (01.30.10)
i can only back what it says above. in operation cast lead, the idf made over 165'000 phone calls warning civilians to evacuate (even telling them in which direction to go) before boming weapons and ammunition storages, which were most of the time stored deliberately in the living room, dorm rooms, kitchen, etc. about 2.5 million leaflets warning civilians have been dropped over gaza warning civilians to avoide being near terrorists and to refrain from helping them. israel also evacuated 38 palestinians for medical treatment including two children. over 300 qassam rockets have been fired during the six-month ceasefire before the operation, where most of the fireing took place in november and december. hamas' rocket range now targets over 1 million southern israelis living in major cities that include ashkelon, beer sheva, ashdod, sderot, gedera and kiryat malachi. since israel's defensive operation began december 27, over 290 israelis were injured in palestinian rocket and mortar attacks and over 240 israelis have been treated for shock. palestinian rockets struck nine education facilities including high schools, kindergartens and elemntary schools. three synagogues in the western negev were hit by rockets. 84 rockets exploded in sderot during the operation. over 1000 people in israel have been wounded by palestinain rockets and mortars fired from the gaza strip since 2001, including israelis, palestinians and foreign workers. since operation cast lead, 22'893 truckloads of 703'224 tons of humanitarian aid have been delivered through israeli corssings into gaza including basic food, commodities, medication, medication, medical supplies, blood units and donations by various governments.
4. A question of credibility
Chardon Bleu ,   Geneva Switzerland   (01.30.10)
Who still believes in Zionist fairy tales after the criminal cover-ups used in order to deny the calculated ethnic cleansing of Palestine which has now been going on for more than 60 years in the name of the Zionist ideology, an ideology which in itself is based on founding myths combined with fatal European -isms (nationalism, colonialism)?
5. Just Curiuos
chris ,   japan   (01.30.10)
i really do no care which side is right or wrong. I do not even care if both side slaughter each other. I am just curious to ask one question for Israel military. You have the most sophisticated military equipment in the Middle East and you have been accused many times in the past for similar crimes against humanity. Why don't you embed journalist as Americans did in Iraq so those independent journalists can film fire coming upon you from flour mills, hospitals, schools, mosques etc..? If can't embed journalist why don't your soldiers film those places before firing your weapons? You can even put cameras on your tanks (find a way of doing) to film all the locations you are going through
6. truth will emerge
Ilana   (01.30.10)
IDF is the most moral army and Israel the most moral country compared to ALL other countries and their history of crime against humanity. The problem is that the Jew haters continue their mantra NO MATTER WHAT!!! That is called BLIND and DEAF HATRED. To be ignored like an annoying miniscule bug on the wall.
7. Gaza
Poppy   (01.30.10)
No 4 You are talking cr..p It is people like the Hamas who are the evil ones, Look at the world, who are the terrorists???? Hamas are terrorists They are using their own people to hind behind. They are not Heros they are stupid people who could live a wonderful life being free and enjoying the fruits of life, but they opt to fight and kill. For what??????????? If they would be NORMAL HUMAN beings they would think of Love
8. #4 Chardon your words are worthy laughter
Krzysztof ,   Warsaw, Poland   (01.30.10)
For over 60 years, year after year the Palestinian population has a steady 3% growth. So your accusations are a joke. More over, to say sth like you said one needs to selectively forget the brotherly alliance of Palestinian Husaynis with the nazis and their plan to not only expell Jews from Palestine in 1948, but lobby at Hitler's offices to slaughter all the Jews of the Middle East during the war: Jews who had nothing in common with zionism. It is also interesting why mr Chardon Bleu forgot to mention the expulsion of hundreds of thousands Jews from Arab lands due to a combination of racist laws, secret police invigilation, and pogroms. How long will such a leftist, totally biased narrative be spreading? Hey, educate yourself a bit more...

13. #5, where would you find these "independent" journalists?
Danny   (01.30.10)
and Israel has repeatedly shown photographic and video evidence which is simply dismissed out of hand. Remember the standard operating procedure here: Extreme guillability to anything anti-Israeli and extreme scepticism to anything else.
14. Hey "Poppy", I already tried to reason
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (01.30.10)
with Ms. "Chardon Bleu" in another post and all she could come back with was that historian Benny Morris was the subject of criticism by another historian so he could not be trusted. She took a quick google and, on that basis, dismissed Professor Morris, the author of at least one dozen books and considered the dean of Israeli historians. I find his style so dry and the basis upon which he will accept information so limited that I really do not like him. Nonetheless, he is detailed and accurate as far as he goes and he is humble enough to change conclusions upon furthering his research. In the meantime, Ms. "Chardon Bleu" cited Illan Pappe, an academic who poses as an historian, was fired from two universities and caught fictionalizing history and defended himself by saying it is the perspective that counts, not the truthfulness of the facts. You can look him up on isracampus.org.il. At any rate, from that exchange, I discovered that Ms. "Chardon Bleu" was neither an academic nor scholar but rather one of those nasty lowlevel posters whose sole aim is to demonize Israel. In short, it is useless to try to correct or teach her as her purpose on this Talkback where she appears occasionally is neither to learn nor engage in a sincere exchange of ideas. There are plenty of those on Ynet Talkbacks, incidentally. Ms. "Chardon Bleu" is not even particularly good at taunting others, by the way, as her intellect is inferior. She does have a lovely pseudonym, however. I hope these remarks help, "Poppy".

Zero credibility to xenophobic, pro-Nazi neutral, intolerant parasites who live off other countries tax-evasions. Aren't you busy enough prohibiting building minaretts these days? You of all people wish to lecture us? Disseminate your lies on other websites, or better, clear your own dirty stable!
16. Chris #5
Resistor   (01.30.10)
I have asked that same question Chris, without getting an answer. As you point out, this happens all the time-look at Jennin for example.
17. Hamas has the proof, Israel has not
observer   (01.30.10)
part of the proof Hamas has is provided by Israel itself as a phone call recorded on a answer machine. No one can buy Israeli stuff of warning phone calls to residents & to the mill itself.
18. To Gazan: Thank your mufti,
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (01.30.10)
al-Husseini, for losing your homes. Wasn't he the one who encouraged most of you to flee but to return upon defeat of the Jewish forces? This did not occur. And, yes, some were forced to leave by Israeli troops for strategic reasons given that Arabs formed a third column within Israel during our War of Independence. Proof? The Druse were allowed to remain and the Druse didn't listen to your mufti, a Nazi collaborator, by the way. Few of you wretched Arab Muslims really ever take any responsibility. It's always someone else's fault, namely, the Jews and the state of Israel. You remind me of those entitled teenagers one reads so much about. If you were to take responsibility for your poor decisions and corrupt leadership, however, we'd perhaps have grounds for dialogue. Will it ever happen?
19. Hey Resistor, do you want the "idiot
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (01.30.10)
award", still flogging Jennin when it's proved, very decisively, that Israeli troops were not responsible and that the whole thing was an Arab propaganda coup? I know you hate Israel but can't you make a better case against us?
20. "observer" #17:
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (01.30.10)
Your statement just doesn't make sense. There seems to be a few steps of logic missing. Perhaps you could clarify and amplify.

Wherever did you get the idea that the Jews "took" your homes? There was nothing there but swamps in the north and desert in the south. The following is an excerpt from Mark Twain's "Innocents Abroad," which puts paid once and for all to the Palestinian myth of peaceful villages and farmers with lush olive groves and orchards. Hard to believe that the fertile and forested Israel of today is the bleak, desolate and abandoned Palestine that Mark Twain visited. "Of all the lands there are for dismal scenery, I think Palestine must be the prince. The hills are barren, they are dull of color, they are unpicturesque in shape. The valleys are unsightly deserts fringed with a feeble vegetation that has an expression about it of being sorrowful and despondent. The Dead Sea and the Sea of Galilee sleep in the midst of a vast stretch of hill and plain wherein the eye rests upon no pleasant tint, no striking object, no soft picture dreaming in a purple haze or mottled with the shadows of the clouds. Every outline is harsh, every feature is distinct, there is no perspective -- distance works no enchantment here. It is a hopeless, dreary, heart-broken land. " "Palestine sits in sackcloth and ashes. Over it broods the spell of a curse that has withered its fields and fettered its energies. Where Sodom and Gomorrah reared their domes and towers, that solemn sea now floods the plain, in whose bitter waters no living thing exists -- over whose waveless surface the blistering air hangs motionless and dead -- about whose borders nothing grows but weeds, and scattering tufts of cane, and that treacherous fruit that promises refreshment to parching lips, but turns to ashes at the touch. Nazareth is forlorn; about that ford of Jordan where the hosts of Israel entered the Promised Land with songs of rejoicing, one finds only a squalid camp of fantastic Bedouins of the desert; Jericho the accursed, lies a moldering ruin, to-day, even as Joshua's miracle left it more than three thousand years ago; Bethlehem and Bethany, in their poverty and their humiliation, have nothing about them now to remind one that they once knew the high honor of the Saviour's presence; the hallowed spot where the shepherds watched their flocks by night, and where the angels sang Peace on earth, good will to men, is untenanted by any living creature, and unblessed by any feature that is pleasant to the eye. Renowned Jerusalem itself, the stateliest name in history, has lost all its ancient grandeur, and is become a pauper village; the riches of Solomon are no longer there to compel the admiration of visiting Oriental queens; the wonderful temple which was the pride and the glory of Israel, is gone, and the Ottoman crescent is lifted above the spot where, on that most memorable day in the annals of the world, they reared the Holy Cross. The noted Sea of Galilee, where Roman fleets once rode at anchor and the disciples of the Saviour sailed in their ships, was long ago deserted by the devotees of war and commerce, and its borders are a silent wilderness; Capernaum is a shapeless ruin; Magdala is the home of beggared Arabs; Bethsaida and Chorazin have vanished from the earth, and the "desert places" round about them where thousands of men once listened to the Saviour's voice and ate the miraculous bread, sleep in the hush of a solitude that is inhabited only by birds of prey and skulking foxes."

Suppose you address Swiss foot-dragging on restoration of Jewish-owned bank accounts in Switzerland which were appropriated by the Swiss. Suppose you address the failure of Swiss insurance companies such as Keller and Winterthur to pay out on the fully-paid up life insurance policies that they sold to desperate Jews in Europe in the 1930s. Suppose you address the fact that supposedly neutral Switzerland colluded with Nazi Germany and, in fact, banked Nazi gold -- most of which came from confiscated Jewish wedding bands and the teeth of gassed Jews. Clean up your own house. There's a great deal of Swiss dirt to account for.

More than 60 years ago, 5 Arab armies wanted to ethnically cleanse the Jews from Palestine and their plan back-fired. Such is war, C'est la vie, Chardon Bleu, et helas, il y ceux qui doivent payer.....des deux cotes.. Jordan thereafter ethnically cleansed East Jerusalem and the West Bank of Jews and desecrated synagogues. Israel has 1.5 million Arabs. You can keep your pathetic theory for yourself, Matty Groves and BBSNews...it's their cup of tea.... ..fuii.. http://www.netanyahu.org/whattheydont.html

Look at the accusers, Chris. For that matter, look at the United Nations, which ignores massacres in Sudan, five million dead civilians in ongoing tribal warfare in the Congo, massacres of Christians in Banda Ace, murderous child soldiers that terrorize civilians in Sierra Leone and the Ivory Coast, massacres of Kurdish people in Turkey, Iraq and Iran, et cetera, ad nauseum. For that matter, I note that you are silent on the fact that over ten thousand civilians have died in NATO bombardment of civilian areas in Afghanistan, Iraq and Waziristan. Why is that? Have you a clue how many civilians died in the NATO bombardment of Bosnia and environs? Why should Israel lend any credibility to charges of "war crimes" by responding? Do you remember the so-called "massacre" in Jenin? Thousands of mythical dead Arab civilians which then turned into hundreds of mythical dead Arab civilians which turned into dozens of mythical dead Arab civilians which, at the end of the day, turned out to be fourteen dead Arab terrorist combatants. For the record, Hamas uses human shields. They refuse to allow civilians to evacuate areas that Israel has warned will come under bombardment. How many countries can you name that actually drop leaflets warning in advance which areas are to come under bombardment? How many countries can you name that use loud hailers warning civilians to evacuate the area? Hamas shoots any civilians that attempt to evacuate. Nothing like a bunch of dead civilians for a photo op, right? Do you care? Do you even bother to take note of the fact that by preventing their departure, Hamas is directly responsible for their deaths? Of course you don’t. Truth clearly does not interest you. I remind you that Israel waited eight long years -- eight years during which Hamas rained missiles into southern Israel and sent suicide bombers to murder and maim Israeli civilians – before retaliating. Can you name one country that would wait eight seconds, let alone eight years? I think not. I don’t suppose that this fact interests you, either. Hamas uses mosques, schools and hospitals to stockpile weapons. That turns those mosques, schools and hospitals into legitimate military targets. If weapons are stored in a "flour mill," that "flour mill" becomes a legitimate military target. Hamas fired upon Israeli troops while cowering behind civilians -- did you expect Israel not to fire back? Is a big pile of dead Israeli soldiers what you would prefer to see? Can you name one single instance of a country's military troops failing to return fire when fired upon? I don't think so. There are no such instances -- when fired upon, troops fire back. You have clearly demonstrated your predisposition and your anti-Israel bias. What a pity that you have such a patently jaundiced point of view, but that’s your problem, not Israel’s.

It seems to me that the whole world is wrong except Israel. The UN is wrong, Goldstone is wrong. Israel refuses to cooperate with the inquiry and then submits its unilateral judgement. Israel, you have no credibility. wake up and join the world

.... and Abraham fathered Isaac, who fathered Jacob, who fathered the twelve tribes of Israel. Ishmael was cast out, remember? Oh, wait!! Didn't you once reject resorting to a religious claim to Eretz Israel? Yet you bring up religion now. It doesn't matter -- sheer stupidity on your part, actually; the religion works very much in favor of the Jews. Face it -- you are outcasts. And have been cast out. Here's a tiny bit of legal advice: never introduce elements into an argument that do not work in your favor; never ask questions to which you do not have the answer.

Another crime to cover up the crimes outlined in the Goldstone Report. . Your politicians and military commanders will one day stand in the dockets for war crimes. I also predict that one day 90 year old privates in the IDF will stand trial for being "Beasts of the Border Crossings" and detention camp dog handlers. Israel is a pariah among nations. Shame on you.
