Dear Mr. Edrogen, Please worry about your Kurdish population and poor financial initiatives. Try leaving Israel out of your rhetoric. Brian
32. Turkey most condemned for human rights abuse by EU.
robert renders ,   belgium   (01.31.10)
So they'd better shut up, don't you think?
33. Barak and Ben Eliezer shown to be foolish appeasers
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (01.31.10)
Lots of us called out Barak and Ben Eliezer for leaping to appease Turkey, assuming the role of supplicants against their "betters". And Israel made sure the deal for advanced UAVs went through. And what did all that bowing and scraping accomplish? Turkey continues to disrespect Israel and tighten ties with Syria and Iran. Only now it'll have more advanced technology it can leak to Israel's enemies. Barak and Ben Eliezer should resign.
34. As brilliant as its namesake
Ilan ,   Ariel   (01.31.10)
When you think about just how dumb turkeys and then think about Edogan then you get a good appreciation as to why they were given the name 'turkey'.
35. response to 27
Yaniv ,   uk   (01.31.10)
well said Steve, its just a shame that the world doesnt see it like that, had it been egypt that fought in operation cast lead then we would have seen a total different world opinion on the matter, just as we saw in the Iran- Iraq war or the turks- kurds...etc When a muslim kills a muslim ALL is KEPT QUIET. (what happened to the human rights campaingn then ha??)
36. Israel & Turkey

38. Ilan, you never seem to get one right!
BBSNews ,   Charlotte, NC   (01.31.10)
Here is a well-known excerpt from a letter from Benjamin Franklin to his daughter near upon the adoption of the eagle as a defining symbol of America, and I must admit, it was slightly disturbing when I read it again: "'For my own part I wish the Bald Eagle had not been chosen the Representative of our Country. He is a Bird of bad moral Character. He does not get his Living honestly. You may have seen him perched on some dead Tree near the River, where, too lazy to fish for himself, he watches the Labour of the Fishing Hawk; and when that diligent Bird has at length taken a Fish, and is bearing it to his Nest for the Support of his Mate and young Ones, the Bald Eagle pursues him and takes it from him. 'With all this Injustice, he is never in good Case but like those among Men who live by Sharping & Robbing he is generally poor and often very lousy. Besides he is a rank Coward: The little King Bird not bigger than a Sparrow attacks him boldly and drives him out of the District. He is therefore by no means a proper Emblem for the brave and honest Cincinnati of America who have driven all the King birds from our Country . . . 'I am on this account not displeased that the Figure is not known as a Bald Eagle, but looks more like a Turkey. For the Truth the Turkey is in Comparison a much more respectable Bird, and withal a true original Native of America . . . He is besides, though a little vain & silly, a Bird of Courage, and would not hesitate to attack a Grenadier of the British Guards who should presume to invade his Farm Yard with a red Coat on.'"

40. 100,000 armenians were kiled yet
Michael   (01.31.10)
Turkey refuses to admit its crimes and now the PM is acting like mother teresa. Can hypocrisy be defined any better?!
41. Erdogan is Islamist-Jihadist
Brod ,   USA   (01.31.10)
It is NONE of the business of Erdogan to be meddling in Israel's internal affairs. What makes him belligerent is he an Islamist-Jihadist singing the same theme song of Islamist-Jihadism in the region.
42. Let's Talk Turkey
Robert Blum ,   New Albany, USA   (01.31.10)
Without even responding to the usual criticisms and accusations against Israel by an ever-growing anti-Jewish world, I wish to remind the world that Britain and the USA have admitted to using phospherous bombs on civilians in Afghanastan. where is the proof that Israel has act6ually done so? Moreover, had the Muslims buiolt an infra-structure in Gaza and used all of the Israeli-built green-houses to establish jobs and prosperity, instead of using the land for terror bases and shooting some 10,000 missles at Israeli civilian populations, Israel NEVER would have felt compelled to strike the source of the terror, which nonetheless, Israel, unlike any other m=nation under attack or in war, did all i9n its power to warn and advise Muslim civilian populations where the attacks would be, so as to minimize civilian deaths. Since the world condemns Israel no matter what Israel does, next time, just act the way the Turks did against the Greek civilian populations and against the civilian populations of Armenians, and massacre everybody. Then, as do the MuslimTurks eeven to this day, they can deny having done so...Of course, this is an all but impossible scenario, since doing so would be out of character for the Jewish people.
43. Next to Erdogan, Lieberman is a gentleman.
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (01.31.10)
Things must be looking quite grim in Turkey, if this Muslim fanatic ceaselessly keeps bashing Israel. He needs a scapegoat to divert the Turks' attention away from all of Turkey's internal problems, and Israel suits this role very comfortably for him. It's quite clear that he does everything in his power to deteriorate the relations between the two countries. And if Lieberman would have done half as much, everybody would be calling for his head.
44. Erdogan also said today the following
David Israel ,   New York   (01.31.10)
He said that the next elections in Turkey canbe done earlier. Since talking bad about Israel improves his votes among the ill educated religious anti-Semite Turks this is yet another one of his election campaign rhetoric.
45. If Erodogan gave a damn
truth   (01.31.10)
about the PaliArabs he'd direct his anger toward Hamas who brutilize thier own people and make peace impossible. Unfortunately, like many in his community, Erodogan is only concerned with Arab honor and Islamist loyalties.
46. BUT WHAT ABOUT US?
Daniela   (01.31.10)
Should we keep on living under terror and be quiete for the rest of our life? aren't we allowed to reply to palestinian violence and can't we revenge our deads? Palestinians can kill us but when we kill them we commit war crimes? ?????????

50. How much did Ergodan the great humanitarian help Haiti?
Torontonian   (01.31.10)
I'm just wondering how Turkey's efforts to help Haiti compared to Israel's. Does anybody know? Considering that Erdogan cares so much about humanity, surely one can only marvel at what Turkey's contribution to Haiti must have been.
51. Too much trouble with own army, so why not bash the IDF?
S.   (01.31.10)
52. Erdogan's private war against Israel.
Samir S. Halabi ,   Geneve, Suisse   (01.31.10)
It won't be theTurkish military making war on Israel, however it could well be the Tutrkish military making war on Erdogan instead. Recep Tayyip Erdogan has become a hard core islamist and an embittered anti-semite to boot, which most probably he always was no matter what people have stated to the contrary.
53. Spain to transcend politics
Arie ,   BaGolan   (01.31.10)
Spain has chosen to stop laying claim to the Sovereign State of Basque; Spain has chosen to stop promoting the grand inquisitor isabella as a saint; spain has chosen to stop giving shelter to hezbollah terrorists in the lebanese province of syria. LOL....transcending politics maybe. But spain will NEVER stop promoting Jew hatred
54. Corner Office?
Bob ,   Mechburg USA   (01.31.10)
Look this guy's just been screwing around with Israel until Israel just says, pack-it, shove off. As soon as things quiet down and after Israel cowered to the big, bad Turk, he continues to push the envelope of decency and honor. (Of which he has never had any). Obviously he's shooting for a big corner office in the Muslim congress of hate and evil.
55. Erdogen is trying to appease the the Iranians
DOV ,   USA   (02.01.10)
It appears when USA and its allies step up efforts to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons Iran's allies start saber rattling against the west.
56. Kurdish child ,8 years prison on 29.01.2010
Narina ,   S.Kurdistan   (02.01.10)
A Turkish high criminal court has sentenced an adolescent Kurdish girl to nearly eight years in prison on charges of hurling stones at police officers and chanting illegal slogans during a protest in the southeastern city of Batman. Police claimed that the 15-year-old Kurdish teenager, Berivan attended an illegal march in October and concealed her face behind a scarf. Berivan rejected the accusation saying that she was detained while going to visit her aunt, Hurriyet newspaper reported on Wednesday. “I did not hurl stones at police officers. I do not have any relation with the march. I noticed a crowd and walked towards it to see what it was. Police surrounded the crowd before I reached them. A policeman detained me because he thought I was a protester but I was not. I was just going to visit my aunt living in the central part of the city,” Berivan said. The court had originally sentenced her to a total of 13 years in prison - seven years on charges of committing a crime on behalf of an outlawed organization, five years on charges of attending an illegal demonstration, and one year on charges of propaganda for the group. However, her sentence was commuted to seven years and nine months because she is an adolescent. After the judge announced the sentence, the girl's mother burst into tears and shouted, “Did she murder? The murderers are not sentenced to such a long prison term.”
57. During Milosovic trial
Rizgar ,   S.Kurdistan   (02.01.10)
US State Department spokesperson James Rubin stated: “The comparison I just think is not accurate (Kosovo,Kurds in Turkey)... Turkey is a democratic country, committed to seeking a peaceful solution to the Kurdish issue. As a member of the NATO alliance, Turkey is not engaged in a systematic effort to ethnically cleanse helpless civilians or destroy their homes and force them in a massive campaign of expulsion ... The comparison is grossly unfair.” Rubin obviously has not visited the State Department’s own web site recently. A 29-page document there dated February 26 details human rights abuses against Turkey’s Kurdish population. Some of the report’s conclusions include: The Turkish constitution “does not recognize the Kurds as a national, racial or ethnic minority”. “Extrajudicial killings, including deaths in detention from the excessive use of force, ‘mystery killings’ and disappearances continue. Torture remains widespread.”
58. *cough* armenian genocide *cough*
carolyn   (02.01.10)
59. Turks don't kill Kurds, didn't kill Armenians
BigTurk ,   Turkey   (02.01.10)
The two are not the same: You guys keep saying that Turks killed Armenians. Who saw it?! Did you see it yourselves? Israel's actions in Gaza are witnessed by everyone. It is always on TV. What happened to Armenians still stays a mystery: According to lots of British resources, it was all made up as a requirement of the time. As for the Kurdish issue, again, it is not the same as the Palestinian issue. Turkey has never bombed villages, towns, innocent civilians. Turkey hunted down the terrorists who happen to be Kurdish, but also happen to kill Kurds most. Turkey's actions, if anything, saves the Kurds. Not like Israel, not at all... If anything, Turkey has been the most tolerant country ever. When Spain massacred all the Jews, it was Turkey who opened its borders to hundreds of thousands of Jews, when Jews were not accepted by any other country. It was again the same Turkey who rescued countless Jews from German Nazis. It is sad to see, however, that even the Germans are not preached by the Jews when they criticize Israel's actions. All these being said, I am a friend of jews; all Turks are. Just don't insult our ambassador again; you might lose that friendship.
60. To: No. 59
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.01.10)
" I am a friend of jews; all Turks are. Just don't insult our ambassador again; you might lose that friendship." Frankly, I cannot wait. You kind of lost my friendship a really long time ago. Right around the time that the bombing of the synagogue in Istanbul that killed 57 Jews and wounded over 700 went unpunished by Turkish law enforcement. Friends? Friends? Oh, friends always broadcast poisonous ridiculous television shows on the air, don't they? No, they don't. Turkey thus fails on yet another count. Like I said --- with “friends” like Turkey, Israel doesn't really need an enemy. And don't be so quick to pat yourself on the back. Turkey is very much a third world country -- with the improvement of ties to Iran and Syria, you can kiss membership in the EU good-bye. You'll be kicked out of NATO, too. I hope you enjoy your soon-to-be Islamofascist fundamentalist state Enjoy. Frankly, I can't wait to see your country assume its rightful place near the bottom of the heap.
