1. China
Resistor   (02.02.10)
The US has just blown any chance of co-operation with sanctions on Iran. China of course imports a lot of oil from Iran. Selling arms to Taiwan is just plain dopey and greedy by the USA, and if you really want to make the awakening dragon REALLY angry, then host the Daily Liar in Washington. Now that would be really dumb! Am China Chaim Kool Haveavodka China!
2. China is undermining the rest of the world
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (02.02.10)
China cares nothing about the rest of the world, only their desire for hegemony. They encourage any and all set backs for the West as an opportunity to for them to gain on the West. The best way is to keep pressure on them over their occupation of Tibet, their horrendous record on human rights and by arming the Republic of China with as many advanced weapons as they can afford. We need to be aiding the Republic of China as well. We are both democracies with a huge hostile regime that employs terrorism to achieve it's goals.

5. Can Taiwan develop nuclear energy for peaceful purposes?
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (02.02.10)
I say let's help Taiwan build its own nuclear reactors, to be used for 'peaceful' purposes of course. After all, didn't the Chinese ambassador said that every country is entitled for that? So I can't see why they wouldn't agree for this in Taiwan.
6. Basically
Kevin ,   Portsmouth, USA   (02.02.10)
It should just be said that the "US is just deteriorating". We are now nothing but a feminized, emotionally fueled joke....
7. Truth
ByteRider ,   Chandler USA   (02.02.10)
As a recent Obama-induced laid off defence worker and scientist, China is looking like a better place to live than the USA.
8. Whoa!
Rusty ,   McMaynerberry USA   (02.02.10)
And all this time, I thought Bush ruined foreign relations!
9. China
Lukuj ,   Richmond, TX   (02.02.10)
Guess Obama may finally have to admit that it isn't as easy as he thinks to make other countries love us. It takes more than constantly apologizing for our country and borrowing and spending money and/or bowing to leaders (and even mayors!). It seems to me our relationships with many countries have deteriorated in the last year, but then Obama would probably say it is all Bush's fault.
10. China,dont feel bad.Obama is ruining relations with many.

11. Anyone notice the contradiction?
Michael ,   Los Angeles   (02.02.10)
1. Sanctions don't work. 2. We plan to impose sanctions.
12. HYPOCRITICAL CHINA !!!.
Arn. ,   SWEDEN.   (02.02.10)
The US has recently decided to sell arms to Taiwan, which prompted Chinese protest. Zhang said that the US's decision amounts to a harsh violation of the common principles between the two countries and noted that the Chinese people could not accept such conduct. The Chinese envoy further added that the deal has undermined the relations and may effect political cooperation. CHINA DOES NOT HAVE PEACEFULLY INTENTIONS AGAINS TAIWAN THAT IS. Arn.
13. Taiwan-china relation
kho gen-cho ,   Pontiac, Michigan   (02.02.10)
Dear Sir: According to all the treaty and declarations at the end os WWII, Soveignty of Taiwan was never clearly decided by all parties concerned. Technically Taiwan might be still under US control. Current People Republic of China(communist China on mainland) has never given de facto control of the island of Formosa-Taiwan. Majority of 23 million citizen DO NOT desire to be "united" with and controlled by China. Taiwan has its own duely democraticaly elected president and government. Taiwan "is" an independent soveignty, and NOT a part of People of repul]blic of China. PERIOD!!!

17. Once again, Israel finds itself caught in the middle
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (02.02.10)
On one side is Israel's long standing relationship with the US, home to the 2nd largest Jewish community and a strategic ally. It also maintains economic relations with Taiwan, a fellow democratic nation. Then there's China itself, a rising power which relates to Israel as a fellow ancient civilization, but has a way to go to be considered "free". Israel as a small power thus must tread carefully. So far, it seems to be handling it well. Many young Israelis have traveled there and established business links. More are studying Chinese. But China does itself no favors by enabling Iran's military and weapons projects. Deals with the devil have a way of coming back at you.
18. Communist China
Sun Yat Sen ,   Arizona, USA   (02.02.10)
Chairma Obama and Chairman Hu, two of the biggest Communists in the world aren't getting along? Heaven forefend!
19. USA holds the last card
Adolph Schikelgruber ,   Arizona, USA   (02.02.10)
USA sells Free China (Taiwan) weapons. Communist China halts military cooperation and helps Iran. USA raises tariffs on Chinese goods. Communist China stops buying debt. USA prints more money. Communist China's investments becomes worthless.
20. China
Anthony Sanchez ,   Austin Texas USA   (02.02.10)
The Chinese concept of freedom has nothing in common with Western concepts. I don't think China has ever known freedom, therefore, I don't think they will ever change their position about free speech and political freedom. We must remember despite all the changes in China, politically, their govt.are still communists and will crush any opposition. Liberals here all seem surprised and shocked when China cracks down on opponents, Why? There communists and they do what communists do, rub out the opponents and arrest all opposition, no matter how small.
21. Correction, China is not a superpower.
Marc ,   Orem UT USA   (02.02.10)
Correction, China is not a superpower in any sense of the term. China does not dictate to the US. Relations should be better between the two countries which is the fault of both countries.
22. :: No wonder #18
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (02.02.10)

23. article
Regular Guy ,   U.S.A.   (02.02.10)
China is not a superpower, whatever they think. And they can keep their lead based toys if they are really upset.
24. Obama vs China
Vince Hugh ,   Atlanta USA   (02.02.10)
When a major representative of China condemns Obama, then its serious. They never did this to Bush. Obama may be the most incompetent president the USA has ever had.
25. Obummer vs China
Cougar ,   Greenville, USA   (02.02.10)
I really wanted to comment about our "Idiot In Chief" but after reading the guidelines, "Comments containing incitement, slander, racist slurs and inappropriate language deemed to violate our terms of use won't be published.", none of what I really want to say can be published.
26. OBAMA
nickatdabeach ,   Florida USA   (02.02.10)
ni hao to my Chinese friends, especially Yu Zongsen at Beijing University metallurgy department. Obama is a liar, cannot be trusted. He is reckless. He is unqualified to be US president, for many reasons. American voters got it wrong last year. We'll fix it in 2012. Zai jian didis and meimeis.
27. Whats the big deal with China?
Dave_US ,   USA   (02.02.10)
What can they possibly threaten the USA with??? The trade is mutually beneficial, and moreover - China will suffer much more by ruined ties with the US. If push comes to shove the US and all other willing nations can deal with Iran without China's blessing. I am baffled by this new obsession with China and with foreign relations in general. Why keep up "friendship" (and this pertains to all countries) with those whose actions undermine your own safety. I don't think that short term monetary gains justify such steps.
28. Obama the Rookie
Brod ,   USA   (02.02.10)
This is one stupid act by Obama. He is damaging America's relation with China. What does Obama gain by provoking China? Nothing! The Dalai Lama should not be treated as if he is god. He is a nothing. Selling billions of dollars of weaponry to Taiwan is also not worth it. Why continue to fuel unnecessary conflict in the region? Taiwan is part of China. It is for the two countries to work out their relation. America should not be seen as a source of conflict. His other stupid act is mirandizing Islamist-Jihadist terrorists and putting them in civilian courts as if these foreign aggressors are common criminals. It is time for Congress to put in motion to impeach Obama. He has already worsened America's ailing economy with America's spiralling deficits into the Trillions, increasing unemployment, rising gas price, cowing to Islam and bowing to the Wahhabhist Saudi Chieftain whose thugs attacked America and murdered 3000 Americans in cold blood on 9/11, and whose country is the Chief Sponsor of Islamist-Jihadism/Terrorism around the world!
29. Of course. China is consistent on this.
Wei ,   Cupertino, USA   (02.02.10)
Taiwan has several nuclear reactors and China never raised an issue about it. Please study a subject before the usual China bashing next time. Talking about being brainwashed ...
30. China-US relations
Bill van ,   Sonoma, California   (02.02.10)
I wonder if the yet to be (publicly) released news about the US salting the Chinese gold with tungsten has anything to do with the deterioration in the relationship between the countries? Seems that the US corporation may be baiting China into war. That figures, given the US has the largest and most powerful mercenary force, with which to exploit and plunder the world's. resources.
