Well documenetd, thanks.
2. Uncle Shimmy have you no shame?
a zionist ,   Gush Etzion   (02.02.10)
How dare you compare a terrorist murderer to BG? You of all people should have more respect for teh memory of your mentor, if not for BG you would be a simple kibbutznik reminiscing how you rode your tractor in some obscure kibbutz and living off Bituach Leumi. You might have even had to serve in the Hagana
3. Peres is the best at licking the enemies ass!

Ricardo Macher ,   KarneiShomron Israel   (02.02.10)
Dear Zionist, while I mostly agree with you, I must correct you about what Ben Gurion said about Shimon Peres! He stated: "Never trust this man". Peres belongs to a retirement house, history will judge him and his grandsons will be ashamed of him, everybody knows who payed for his ambitions!
5. I think Fayyad is very smart
Israeli   (02.02.10)
and only his positive approach will give Palestinians a state. The rest of you talkbackers make me embarrassed to be an Israeli and a Zionist.
6. If Peres says it, it must be false
Frank ,   Canada   (02.02.10)
Peres has a proven record of being wrong on almost everything, he must be wrong on this one.
7. There goes Peres acting lik a fool again>>
James ,   ISRAEL   (02.02.10)
Not only endorsing Fayyad the Islamist but comparing him to Ben Gurion? Gee when will Peres shut his big mouth and think before making such comments, PUTTING FOOT IN MOUTH!

10. Old YnetNews article...
Mark Kleiman ,   Florida, USA   (02.02.10)
Just a month or two ago, there was an article on YnetNews quoting "Shimon Peres is the enemy of the State of Israel"... does anyone have that URL?
11. I don't see Fayyad as a terrorist
Ziv   (02.03.10)
He was never a member of Fatah or Hamas, has never felt himself bound by the despicable Fatah or Hamas charters, and has never - as far as I have seen proven - called for the destruction of Israel or for terror attacks against civilians. Other Palestinian leaders continually do both. The Fatah and Hamas leaderships both despise Fayyad. A lot of what Peres is saying here is inexplicable gibberish (is he getting senile?) but condemning a one-state solution is rational and sane and smart, and since Israel's official policy - as expressed by Netanyahu - is that there should one day be a Palestinian state with certain restrictions, living in peace beside Israel, that part seems reasonable enough.
12. re#4 Ben Gurion was an admitted theif of Arab land.....
Historian ,   los angeles, usa   (02.03.10)
Ben-Gurion recognized the strong attachment of Palestinian Arabs to the land but hoped that this would be overcome in time. Nahum Goldman, president of the World Jewish Congress, wrote that in a conversation about "the Arab problem" in 1956, Ben-Gurion stated: "Why should the Arabs make peace? If I was an Arab leader I would never make terms with Israel. That is natural: we have taken their country ... There has been anti-Semitism, the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, but was that their fault? They only see one thing: we have come here and stolen their country. Why should they accept that? They may perhaps forget in one or two generations' time, but for the moment there is no chance. So it is simple: we have to stay strong and maintain a powerful army."
13. It started with the Oslo Agreements …
Ron B. ,   Lod   (02.03.10)
After the horrible mistakes he commited as a result of his total lack of vision, Peres should keep away of politics and Media. Only a peace process with the acceptance by the Arabs to be resettled in other Arab countries had a chance to bring peace to the region. Financial compensations would be the main reason for the Arabs to accept their resettlement. The best solution for the Arabs would be to leave the borders of “greater Israel,” so that Israel could then annex the West Bank and perhaps Gaza. Advancing this solution, daily, at any occasion, might creat a new perception and bring peace. Any different solution presents a risk of an endless war. For more details: http://xrl.us/bjcgx
14. To Historian@ 12 I thought that old chestnut would>
Kate ,   ISRAEL   (02.03.10)
The old chestnut would surfsce by some of you to justfy that Ben Gurion said what you wrote. The man said many things means nothing asall politicians do to appease some third party. You must also remember the "Altalena Affair" which was a very unjust behaviour by him. As some writers like Benny Morris has written, then in his latest book, retracted, and changed his words. I guess also Ben Gurion like Golda Meir who mentioned the Lavon Affair as well writing it in her diary was not the right thing to do,opening Israel to criticism for all the world to read. That has been the trouble with our politicians which includes Moshe Dayan's grand gesture after the 1957 by giving the keys of the wakft to the Arabs. And look at the present problems he left as his legacy. Same with Sharon and his madness to evacuate Gush Katif and he should see the resulting consequences now. That is why I never trust any politcian.Be it Israeli,American or any other. They play to the OPERA. Singing BS
15. And where do you live my esteemed friend # 11?
Benny ,   NYC   (02.04.10)
You are projecting nonsense. Because whether he follows not Fatah,or Hamas makes not an Israel loving Arab either. Has it occurred to you that just being an Arab is something to remember. None of the Palestinians are trustworthy. If you are fool enough to believe then you need to study their modus operandi. The fact that the other tow parties despise him,is for foreign consumption, didn't you know that? When Haniyeh won the election, who cheered him up,with a victory sign hands up to Haniyes? it was Abbas. No sooner Israel ceded Gaza and Haniyeh began to destroy all the infrustructures leff by the good settlers it so happened the two erstwhile brothers in crime, began to kill one another. As for this Fayyad,by his own words he has condemned himself(if you care to read it on the other forum) There you go.In your second long paragraph you attack Peres. I can understand this part at least..But the rest of your post,is all jumbled up Ziv? You are a funny interlocuter.. P/S My conclusion: Fayyad is the bees's knees, wonder of wonders. Laughable if it wasn't pathetic.Sorry old fellow
