1. Rabid enemies who will not stop till Jews are expelled
jewish doctor ,   ATL,USA   (02.02.10)
Barak said it all...no 2nd chance... fight or die. don't give in to the people who want to steal what is yours... "it's a neighborhood with no mercy for the weak and there will be no second chance for those who cannot defend themselves."
2. Settlements = Peace None = racism
David ,   Boston, USA   (02.02.10)
Fayad must be a rabid racist. Jews lived in Judea and Samaria before Arabs. There can not be peace without Jews there. IT doesnt really matter if settlements are built or not. If the Arabs want another Palestinian state, do it, stop lying about it. Jews were there before arabs and will either be part of Israel or part of Jordan Palestine confederation, but they WONT be moving. To move makes the PA worst than Apartheid South Africa. Settlements = Peace. Deal with it! Make peace or forget about another Arab Palestinian state.
3. Fayyad makes me laugh, Obama makes me weep
Marco ,   Spain   (02.02.10)
For The Palestinians and the American People. Thanks!
4. Your state is either Jordan or Egypt
(02.02.10)
Does anybody still believe in Ballistinian people?
5. Fayyad is smart
Israeli   (02.02.10)
Keep your eyes on the goal, look for support in Israel and internationally and keep working towards something positive. This is the only way forward. Israeli politicians should learn from this.
6. FAYYAD IS LOST,SOMEONE POINT TO SYRIAN
....DACON9   (02.02.10)
7. build baby build
alan ,   texas   (02.02.10)
palestinian arabs have a state. just cross the Jordan River and there you are. Israel must continue to build in all of Israel including Samaria and Judaea and Golan. Eventually Israel will have to take in Gaza, which is a festering sore. Lance that boil to get rid of the pus. Same with lebanon. If the arabs don't like it, too bad. They created the problem with their intractable incrteasing demands and incitement to hatred and violence. let them reap what they have sown.
8. "Our state?"
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.02.10)
Oh dear! Would that be the state that the Palestinians have rejected on three separate occasions? There isn't going to be a fourth ....
9. you have no state, you have no borders and if you do not soo
ralph   (02.02.10)
soon begin negotiations you will find yourself in jordan with your brothers
10. Fayyad+Pals reject Jewish state but want help for Pal state
Sam ,   Canada   (02.02.10)
Typical Palestinian. There is no talk about accepting the Jewish state just an insistence that Jews help build a Palestinian state. They'll be back when that is finalized to get the rest of Israel with a right of return which they insist they must have too.Palestinians actually expect Jews to go along with this.
11. The article does not do a good job of quoting him
Rachel Salomon ,   Netanya, Israel   (02.02.10)
Unlike the other posters, I actually heard Fayyad speak live tonight at the Herzliya Conference. He did not call for the settlements to be evacuated, he merely called for there to be a halt in the construction of settlements in East Jerusalem and the West Bank because these are lands where the Palestinians seek to build their state. Also, in his speech, he spoke of wanting peace with Israelis because it was a genuine Palestinian interest and wanting security because it was a genuine Palestinian interest. I don't think that this was emphasized enough in the article. It is like the journalist took a speech that was mostly pro-peace, pin-poined the more extreme pro-Palestinian talkpoints and focused on those. It is also important to keep in mind that he came to speak inside Israel despite death threats and even shook Barak's hand. If that is not courageous, than I don't know what is. While I don't agree with many of his views, such as on Jerusalem and the siege on Gaza, I think that no one who heard his speech live can deny his peaceful intentions.
12. the issuer is not 22 or 23 Arab states...
golan ,   Israel   (02.03.10)
there is no peace because peace does not exist. There is no harmony because the Arabs want all of Israel and not part of it. Their definition of occupation is Tel Aviv and Haifa, and not Ramallah and Jenin. So please stop pretending that their is a war because the Arabs have 22 states and not 23. Radical revolutionary movements like the Baath (whose flag is sometimes misrefered to as the Palestinian flag) cannot exist in harmony because it needs constant revolution? Look at Gaza to see what a Palestinian state would look like.
13. at what point do you use up your
Barney ,   USA   (02.03.10)
chances at negotiation. Time is up. Jerusalem in the united capital of Israel and the Jewish people. Jews are building in Israel. It is not occupied. Look what you did with gaza. do you think Israelis are stupid enough to have that on west bank. They should simply say, the deal is off. do what you have to do and we will do what we have to do. integrate and live peacefully in support of Israel or leave. This cold cut approach is warranted after the years of terrorism, failure to accept agreements, incitement and so on. They made the bed they lie and lay in
14. To Rachel # 11 ..What was the difference ?
Benny ,   NYC   (02.03.10)
You heard Fayyad speak. He did not call for the settlements to be evacuated ,,he merely called for there to be a halt to construction of settlements. Dear madam don't you know politicians, particularely Arab ones like Fayyad who play on words.. You sound rather naive if I may say so. What he said meant equally the same. No difference whatever in its content. I have no patience to read the rest of your assumptions because it is all hog wash. Wake up Rachel, you are being sent up the garden path. And if you believe what he said as truth, you have a lot of learning to do. Sorry,no offence,but...
15. Judea and Samaria.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (02.03.10)
The people of Israel and Israel’s countless friends in the United States and abroad will welcome any steps to further the Jewish, peaceful and productive alternative to a terrorist state in Judea and Samaria. Throughout history, whenever and wherever allowed to exist, the quiet, stable, constructive Jewish home has been a successful antidote to extremism and barbarism. We can make it so again – this time in Judea and Samaria, a historically Jewish area whose importance to world peace cannot be overestimated. The Jews have the right to build and live freely in their country. As to the “Palestinian” demography : http://xrl.us/bewfbt
16. Palestinians will never declare a state
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (02.03.10)
They could have declared a state at any time since 1994. They could declare a state and it would be recognized by more nations than currently recognize the state of Israel. But they will never declare a state, because "their own state" is not what they want. They want Israel.
17. It's NOT your land
Gd ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (02.03.10)
I didn't give it to Arabs but to the Hebrews
18. The so called "palistinians" have multiple states now.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (02.03.10)
The state of confusion. The state of hatred. The state of violence. The state of terrorism. The state of utter degregation. The state of misogyny. Need I go on?
19. The palis are illegally living on our Jewish land
jason white ,   afula,israel   (02.03.10)
barak represents very few Israelis and he will lose even more mandates in the next election.
20. Sounds like a scammer to me.
(02.03.10)
21. STAY OUT OF OUR STATE WE DONT NEED YOUR SPEECH HERE
zionist forever   (02.03.10)
We don't want smooth talking enemies preaching about all their demands and how they plan to steal Jerusalem from its rightful sole owner: ISRAEL If he is so concerned about the fact Gaza is divided then he should bringing up the subject with his boss in Ramallah why he only recently wanted Obama to make sure the Gaza seige statys in place because it stops Hamas from taking over Judea & Samaria. It also of course can't hurt the fact its giving Israel plenty of bad media coverage. He says he wants a state by 2011 so why doesn't he tell his boss to stop acting like a spoilt child and go talk with Bibi. Even if Bibi doesn't agree to his list of demands as a condition for coming and agreeing to discuss the idea of the creation of an arab entity that will never be viable The man is also either blind or very stupid he is seriously doesn't think the Middle East is a rough place where its survival of the fittest and Israel either gets tough or it will be destroyed. An arab sate outside Jordan it can never be seriously viable and they know it. Israel is barely viable and it has 78% of pre 1948 Palestine the land the arabs say is all they want is the remaining 22%. Thats for 6 million+ arabs, they have only limited amounts of water so agriculture is never going to be a real money maker. Certain industries that might be connected with the arms market will probably be off limts to them because they won't be allowed a military so thats another profitable source of income out. There are no natural recurces There are not many ways for this country to make money other than tourism which isn't enough to be viable long term. As UNRWA will be folded as a condition of creating this state no more handouts from them. Alot of the bleeding heart liberals in the west will look for another lost cause they will not be so keen for their government to continue to throw money at palestinians now they have a state. So that will slowly dry up. The Arabs will give them a handout now and again for image and sponsor the building of an airport or school but thats all show not love and support. Eventually the arabs are going to come back saying they were cheated and demand more from Israel or else there will be another war. A palestinian state on these terms is the Neville Chamberlin approach, hoping they will keep their promise and there will be no need for us to fight them. The only viable long term option for everybody is for the creation of a palestinian state in Jordan where it belongs.
22. building
just me   (02.03.10)
and that is exactly the difference between us: we build you destroy...
23. to #3 in other words you suffer from bio
ghostq   (02.03.10)
polar syndrom like that is new. :)
24. what kind of state would that be democratic?
ghostq   (02.03.10)
than he will have to accept jews like any other democracy in the world who go minorities, in one year wooooow magic, cause it takes more than just declarations, the basic civic infostructures they will have to provide for themselves, Israel won't have to give them anything anymore they will be on their own, they better invest in mineral water and good generators, hope they won't poisen their own drinking water since they got no orgenized suwage system. but as I see it they will blame Israel after indipendance for making "not fair" deal. I will say I told you so cause they r so use to it by now.
25. SoMr Fayyad, what is the plan!!
Salma ,   Palestine   (02.03.10)
Maybe another speech!! with respect
26. Finally someone with some sense in him

27. our military power is fading
jane ,   israel   (02.03.10)
please israel learn and learn that power will not bring us peace, seize this opportunity or regret we have been defeated in lebanon and in Gaza whats next!!!!
28. Building Inside our state??Excuse us Mr Fayyad but!
James ,   Israel   (02.03.10)
With all due respect, you have got a state as yet. I should give it some thought before assuming you have one.
29. Sorry Mr.Fayyad...I meant to say:You Have NOT>.
James ,   Israel   (02.03.10)
Got a state as YET. The rest of my wording was accurate. Nevertheless good luck for you will need iot badlly. A word in your ear: Shush tell no one. Just between you and I: A serious talk with Abbas is necessary. He should disband his terrorists called:The al Aksa Martyr's Brigade. He should also get rid of the Charter which he follows same as Haniyeh/Hamas.Oh,I know they kill each other, thus making friends it is an impossibility among you and yours. I hasten to add: Although Abbas recanted denying the truth of the Holocaust in his thesis, I feel under the circumstances no one believes it is a genuine repentance. We have not forgotten HE was the architect of the murder of our athletes in the.Olympics I rest my case.
30. To Benny #14
Rachel Salomon ,   Netanya, Israel   (02.03.10)
Actually, if you are a journalist, it is your duty to report exactly what was said, so yes, it does make a difference in regards to the journalistic integrity of YNET. While I am positive that Fayyad wants all of the settlements evacuated, the point is that he did not state that the evacuation of all settlements was a precondition to talks. He merely said that halting the settlement construction was a precondition to talks. There is a huge difference between the two demands, and if you can't see the difference between asking all settlement construction to stop and evacuating all settlements before talking, then you are blind. And how can you know that every thing I said was "all hockwash" when you did not even bother to attend the Herzliya Conference and here him talk live for yourself? While it is true that Arab leaders do have a tendency to play with words, as Arafat has so often demonstrated, the fact remains that in this particular speech he spoke more about wanting peace with Israel and seeking to build a state than he criticized Israel, yet you will not read this fact in YNET. Just because I want accurate journalism does not make me naive, so I would appreciate it if you did not make any assumptions about me, especially becuase you don't even know me. For your information, I vote Likud and am not a left-winger. I have no delusions about the Palestinians and their leadership, but that does not mean that things should not get reported accurately.
