31. To JPS, Efrat: Sarah B. did not post
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (02.05.10)
the Talkback you are referring to. If you had read the rest of the posts carefully (which obviously you didn't), you would have read #24 which specifically noted that an impostor had written a number of false postings, including one with my name attached. If you are an avid follower of Ynet Talkbacks, you would know that the post you were referring to and critiquing was not Sarah B's at all as the style of writing and the content are unlike her many previous postings. there is a possibility that you, too, are the victim of fraud (impostor). It has been occurring. I have written to the editors about this phenomenon and have received a reply. Assuming you have written your post in good faith, I hope you, too, contact the Ynet editors as the problem is becoming serious. Causing a brouhaha is one of the intents of the impostor.
32. Robert Haymond, free speech?

33. They admit report is highly biased against Israel
William ,   Israel   (02.05.10)
and that the complete source of Gazan complaints comes directly from a Hamas office which contains legal representation for Hamas. DUH! Of course it's going to be all against the other side. Goldstone basically let Hamas right the damn report for him. However, all the claims made by Marzouq have already been discussed ad nauseum in the Intl community, and don't hold water. UNR181? Already void after Arabs denounced it and launched a war of extermination. Rockets only aimed at military targets? The UN themselves denied this was true as rockets hit Sderot for 8 years, and no military base exists there. No self-defense? Every human is afforded the right of self-defense to protect their life. What Hamas is legitimizing is what all Arabs try and legitimize on their racist ideology - ALL Israeli Jews can be targeted, no matter where (like unarmed families in Pesach dinner), and they aren't allowed to protect themselves. Despite basic logic making a mockery of Hamas' claims, what will the UN conclude? I'm not hopeful for even the most basic human right for Jews from them.
34. #8 So low - the Leftists are no imitating others
William ,   Israel   (02.05.10)
Please - this is so NOT Sarah B. Infact, it's written without the typical eloquence and basic grammar which is always present in Sarah's works. Either you're a hateful Leftist who must hide your identity to exude your venom (rather than be honest and use your real name), or your a self-righteous Arab who lives on the foundation of his racist supremacy theories. Either way - a real drag on the human race. We are, after all, only as fast/smart as our DUMBEST members.
35. #9 - "Israeli occupation"? - Bars were set differently
William ,   Israel   (02.05.10)
First off - Israeli occupation? Of what? Sderot, Ashkelon? They have Gaza and turned it into a front line military stronghold for a terror war targeting civilians. Per Oslo Accords, Israel still retains the rights over sea and air in Gaza. And as a legal basis, once Hamas launched it's terror war, and being a non-State, Israel can blockade it. It's the same legal basis that Egypt is using to build it's deep wall against the smuggling tunnels. Next - you can't really come to a conclusion of who won Cast Lead. The bar was set very differently for both side. Hamas needed only to exist in its most basic form, meaning atleast 1 ruling member survived. For Israel, the bar was high that it claimed to really push Hamas out of the Strip. But they also had the goal of destroying much Hamas' weapons and stopping rockets. They essentially did that. I would say Israel won simply because of the enormity of its goals. Hamas simply hid in a protected hospital for 3 weeks while hurting their own population through powerful IEDs placed in civilian areas. Not much effort made there.
36. #16 - Have they really? In WHO'S eyes?
William ,   Israel   (02.05.10)
Increasingly, voices of reason from the Intl community are coming forth in favor of Israel's measures BECAUSE of the violence and terror coming from Gaza. They acknowledged the efforts Israel os making to provide healthcare and humanitarian aid tranfers, while fighting a war where terrorists embed themselves in the population. Why do they finally acknowledge this? Because each Western country is witnessing the same Arab depravity in areas like Iraq and Afghanistan, and know both the need to operate against them, and the frustration of having civilians involved. Even UK commander of NATO forces testified FOR Israel at the UN Goldstone Report hearings. Recently - barrels of explosives washing up on civilian beaches in Israel, a bomb explodes next to a Red Cross vehicle in Gaza. And for the right that Israel has blockade this terrorist entity, Egypt too has the right in blocking tunnels with its wall. End Hamas - get Peace!
37. #26 - It seems you're not familiar with law, reality
William ,   Israel   (02.05.10)
Israel does have borders with actual States - Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Egypt. Neither the West Bank or Gaza are State entities, and under UNR242, are just regions claims by another party but are indispute. The original governors of the land (1948-1967, Gaza by Egypt, WB by Jordan) have rescinded ALL claims on the land allowing it - by law - to revert back to the other governing party, Israel. Per Intl law, the "pals" have nothing really, because they have no borders, no previous ruling history, and not even deeds of ownership. If the argument is on grounds of majority of population, it will be on moral grounds, not legal ones, which don't cover that issue. Other countries with less than 100% delineated borders: Pakistan, India, China, UAE,Iran, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Turkey, Syria, Kurdistan, Georgia, Sudan, Morocco....and they all seems to be "legitimate" States, right? Disputed issues on borders do not negate the right of a State to exist.

raymond is not against free speech, which he welcomes. after all, he practices it too. what raymond is against is people assuming other people's identity and talking in their name. this is not free speech. impostoring is not free speech because it negates what the real people who these impostors represent have previosly commented on. free speech is for feee speech, not stealing identities and talking in their name to convince others. understand this, sir???? big difference. impostoring is a crime. naeem, jerusalem
39. Goldstone report is Totally False
Ken ,   Australia   (02.05.10)
This report no matter what suggestions or even intellectual analysis does not change any of the facts, the war was started by terrorists on the terror list. This is the hamas position. This armed struggle of the occupied is illegitimate simply because Israel as a nation does exist. On the other hand hamas the terrorists have brainwashed themselves with there religious ideas into the fact that they as muslims can attack targets with in a country as they simply believe its OK to do under there own rules or ideas of what rules are. But this is not reality in the world, if we could all carry on like this and get away with murder, while the innocent party becomes the accused. Unfortunately for hamas it isn’t going to help them as they will loose, infact they have already lost. They have no legs to stand on, there really is not an argument of any kind present in this report, although critical of Israel’s handling of there defenses, they have every right to protect there bases, citizens and land from murderous Jew haters, with only one intention and this is to kill innocent Jews and have the blame forwarded to there own government for the cause of it. This is not going to happen. As a bogus claim for sure, stating that they Hamas don’t target civilians themselves , there bombs only fire with out trajectory , so how do they know who there going to hit, so if they don’t know this, they well understand that civilians have a larger percentage of being hit by there bombs, where as the IDF only have the capacity to hit targets that are legitimate and had gone to much lengths to ensure minimal damages to civilians in the strip and also less damage to the strip compared to what could have been done, the civilian deaths of Palestinian peoples living in the strip were hit by Israeli bombs only because hamas has there terrorists mixed in with the civilian populace and so hamas are directly to blame for the deaths on there side although they were struck by bombs un-intentionally by the IDF. We need to keep this in full perspective and not get confused with the mushroom job the reporters are now involved in, it’s always easy to blame some one and mis-comprehend the real reason for the escalation, and this needs clarification by the Israelis as there position must not be falsified by any miscomprehension of the true facts.

43. To # 10 ghostq - Reverse your story to make it accurate
Jason - Atlanta, GA ,   Atlanta, GA   (02.05.10)
The Story of David and Goliath is still an apt example to use in describing the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, however, most people incorrectly cast Israel as Goliath, and the Palestinians as the Davids. When seeing the conflict through the lens of Military Superiority, Israel is definitely the Goliath, however, Military Superiority is only a small aspect of this conflict. The reason I feel the roles should be reversed is because Israel, the David in my story, is a country of 7 Million, to round up, that is currently at war with the Arab world, with a population of over 1 Billion. At any given time, Israel could do something that enrages the entire Arab world, and instantly, you will have thousands of Muslims from all over the Middle East/Africa/Southeast Asia, willing to do anything they can to join the battle and kill some Jews. Israel will always be alone, as has been witnessed since its inception. No Western country will willingly shed blood for Israel. The only people Israel can count on is the Diaspora Jewish population, and for the most part, many of them will offer monetary support, but never their blood and sweat to protect Israel. David and Goliath, absolutely, but who is really David, and who is really Goliath?
44. #30 Please Read
ben Ish   (02.06.10)
That post is OBVIOUSLY not Sarah B. In the last few days many fraudulant posts have been made, impersonating pro-Israel, anti-hamas regular posters. I can assure you 100% Sarah B did not write that post, as many others here can also. See also #24.
45. Hamas recruits Islamic pork eaters
ben Ish   (02.06.10)
They do this because they need people with no honor at all. They like someone with no honor, to go on YNet and post false talkbacks. They need more cowards to claim to be someone else on the internet, because that takes even less courage than to crush a beetle with a broken leg.

quite right
47. What did you expect?
Brad ,   USA   (02.07.10)
Can anything good come out of the UN? Give me a break. They condemn Israel, and treat terrorist countries like royalty. But, given the huge muslim voting bloc in the UN, that would be par for the course. A little advice for Israel: don't make any concessions for peace from these liars, and don't divide up your land, for them. That's it.

do you think that all arabs and all moslemes need the peace more than israil ???????
50. muna unit #49
Brad ,   USA   (02.07.10)
Everyone needs peace, whether they know it or not. But Israel's "neighbors" constantly wage war on Israel without cause. Besides that, they can't even be honest about it. They have to hide behind proxy groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, etc. Muslim cries for "peace", are just empty words from empty heads.
