3. Belusconi...Puff!!!
Dan   (02.03.10)
It is in fact a shame to receive praise from Berlusconi. He is always laughed at in international arena because of his silly acts. He is detested in Italy because of his corrupttion and oppression. Receiving support from him to Israel is not something to be proud of.
4. WOW! Expressive image!

6. a friend of Israel??
SC. ,   Rome, Italy   (02.03.10)
This men is not a friend of Israel. Have you seen who is part of his government? The Italy of Berlusconi is looking to its past with nostalgy...And today many immigrants are killed in the streets just because they are foreigners and "steal' works italians refuse to do... I think we call that racism, xenophobia, dear Mr Bibi...
7. Mr Dan (#3) and the real Berlusconi
Sergio ,   Italy   (02.03.10)
To Dan,n.3: In Italy Berlusconi is detested by the left which together with communist judges seek to overturn his free popular election and disregard the will of the people. "corruption and oppression"? what are you talking about? Italy is not like she is described by leftist papers. Berlusconi is the one politician not leftist. All the others are more or less tied with the ex-, post-, after-, new-communists. That is the truth and that is the reason why Berlusconi was chosen by the people.
8. israel has the most corrupt leader as a friend
masjnoe   (02.03.10)

9. #1 Thats way better than the totalitarian monkey from Tehran
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (02.03.10)
Who is Hamas' and Hizbullah's biggest supporter.
10. # 9 atleast
faysal ,   dubai uae   (02.03.10)
the dictator from tehran supports his hamas and hizbullah with actions rather than useless words like those of berlusconi. Israel has adopted such catestrophical policies that it has no true friends left anymore apart from a curropt mafia -like leader, which it prides itself in having. its pathetic. Change your policies and people will open up to you.
11. lol look who criticizes democratic leaders!!!
Ilana   (02.03.10)
Perhaps Italy's leader is a clown, perhaps not. He still is a democratic leader of a democratic public in a democratic country. Comparing him to other leaders in the wild mideast I OF Jordan. Saudi Arabia etc) or rather criticizing him compared to those other leaders tells us a lot about the worth of the criticism. An abusive father can also criticize his child's teacher for raising her voice at his child. It is just not worth too much.
12. #8..CAN YOU COUNT EVEN ONE ARAB / MUSLIM DEMOCRATIC LEADER ?
ABRAHAM ben JACOB ,   CANADA   (02.03.10)
YOU SIDE ALWAYS WITH THE CORRUPT KINGS AND PRINCES OF ARABIA. YOU ARE IN LOVE WITH IRAN'S AHMADENAJAB, LYBIA'S GADDAFI. WHO ELECTED " KING " HUSSEIN OF JORDAN ? FAISAL IN SAUDI ARABIA, KUWAIT, EMIRATES. NOT ONE DECENT DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY OUT OF DOZENS OF ARAB AND MUSLIM COUNTRIES...........MAYBE ONE ? OR MAYBE NONE ? . THESE COUNTRIES ARE RIFE WITH CORRUPTION AND CRUELTY. # 8...HE LIES VERY POORLY, AND HE STANDS FOR TYRANNY, DICTATORSHIPS, UNELECTED HEADS OF COUNTRIES. HE IS CORRUPTION INCORPORATED.
13. #9 Tahl: Mind to remind you that that "totalitarian monkey
نضال ,   Palestine   (02.03.10)
from Tehran", as you shamelessly describe, is the democratic elected president, who's electorates were mostly from the poor, and who was never corrupt! Even the opposition there lately admitted that his election was legitimate. What would've happened had Hezbollah and Hamas not existed? Best scenario: South Lebanon would've still been under Israeli occupation, first and foremost because of its rich water resources, and settlements in Gaza would've doubled. Yes, Iran is an invaluable friend, and any Palestinian who loves his homeland takes great pride in that.
14. #10 "catastrophical policies"
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (02.03.10)
Really, by whose standards?... Before you answer, bear in mind that those living in glass houses (i.e. the Arab world with its lovely human rights record) are advised not to throw stones. And naturally, whenever Israel exercises its strength and ability to defend herself, the hypocrite intellectuals of the world rush to find every excuse possible to hate us. And we can live just fine with that, just as we have for the past 60+ years.
15. #13 from Palestine
Maurice ,   Montreal   (02.03.10)
So Ahmadinejad was democratically elected? You Pals are great for lying and distorting the truth. The WHOLE world knows that the last elections were rigged and that ever since he has been shooting on his own people in the streets to suppress the riots against him. Just go to YouTube and you will see tens of clips of what the Iranian police and army have been doing to the poor Iranian people who want to get rid of this monster which you adore!
16. #13 Palestine
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (02.03.10)
"democratic elected president" - Yup, a shining example of democracy... Without any inquiry after heavy suspicions of fraud in the election, without going to re-election to clarify the results, with the government silencing the opposition with an iron fist, shutting down 'problematic' media channels, and murdering hundreds of demonstrators - just what the Greeks had in mind when they invented democracy. "Even the opposition there lately admitted that his election was legitimate" - Of course. They want to live don't they? "who was never corrupt" - Corruption in the Arab/Muslim world is a relative term, as it is prevalent throughout their regimes... The fundamentalist junta in Iran is no exception. "What would've happened had Hezbollah and Hamas not existed? Best scenario: South Lebanon would've still been under Israeli occupation" - Wrong. If Hizbullah did not exist, there would be no katyusha rocket attacks to northern Israel, no incursions into Israel from the Lebanese border, to perform terror attacks, and therefore Israel would have had no need to keep its northern border safe, and brought the troops back home much sooner. If Hizbullah did not exist, Lebanon would be in prosperity. "settlements in Gaza would've doubled" - Wrong again. If Hamas did not exist, there would have been no dozens of bloody terrorist attacks against innocent Israelis in buses, markets, and restaurants, the Oslo accords would have been successful, and we would have had lasting peace by now. And that means withdrawal from Gaza, Judea and Samaria, 97% as Barak promised. If Hamas did not exist, you'd have had your own prosperous state by now. Too bad Arafat blew all this, by nurturing Hamas, and you people blew it again by electing Hamas "democratically". Look where it got you in Gaza. So, enjoy your democracy. And enjoy your monkey dictator, who murders his own people. Tell me who your friends are and I'll tell you who you are!
17. #1 - And Arab ME is the source of world's most corrupt
William ,   Israel   (02.03.10)
Wasn't it Dubai that hosted an assassination of Hamas illegal arms traders, using false passports issued by a non-govt entity? It seems the winds of change are blowing across the desert, and it's not just the gentle ocean breezes at the Birj Al Arab.
18. #16 - Tahl
Maurice ,   Montreal   (02.03.10)
I agree with everything you say except the following statement : " If Hizbullah did not exist, there would be no katyusha rocket attacks to northern Israel, no incursions into Israel from the Lebanese border, to perform terror attacks, and therefore Israel would have had no need to keep its northern border safe...". You are forgetting that before the Hezbullah came into existence the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon caused a lot of problems for Israel, and that is why Israel had to invade Lebanon in the first Lebanon war. If the Hezbollah were not there either Israel would have had to stay in Lebanon to control the Palestinian refugees, or else these refuguees would still cause problems for Israel as they did before the Hezbullah came into existance.
19. #10 - When Israel gives concessions, they get rockets
William ,   Israel   (02.03.10)
When Israel practices self-defense, we lose friends. Actually, who cares what the Arabs or the West think, as all of their opinions on based on their own agenda. What you call "catestrophic policies" is Israel deciding that it's best to protest its citizens rather than succumb to false Arab promises, with racist overtones. If you consider supporting terror organizations in their quest to commit war crimes to be admirable, then that says more about You and the state of the world, rather than Israel.
20. Ever notice when someone supports Israel, they are "corrupt"
William ,   Israel   (02.03.10)
When Bush policies favored Israel, he was labeled "corrupt". Same too with Italy's leader. When Egypt promised to hold the peace deal with Israel and block attempts at Hamas/Hizbullah to turn Sinai into a killing field, Mubarak was called "corrupt". When King Hussein in Jordan blocked Hamas activity against Israel there, he was labeled "corrupt". It seems that the label of "corruption" in reserved for those that the Left and Arabs despise.
21. #13 - "democratically elected" - "Palestinian" style??
William ,   Israel   (02.03.10)
He was democratically elected?? Says who, besides the Mullahs? There are daily riots in the streets, and growing discord among the Iranian diaspora that claim otherwise. But then again, you still consider Hamas "democratically elected" despite their going back on every campaign promise of "reform" and attacking their opposition. According to PLO Legislative Law, Hamas is no longer a valid ruling party. You seem to forget what hell "palestinians" have brought themselves. Rather than ask "why does Hizbullah exist" ask "why is Israel in Lebanon"? Because of water resources?? Hardly, because the "palestinians" set up terror bases inside Lebanon to attack Israel. Same too with Gaza. Israel left unilaterally, not becauase of Hamas. We gave you a chance to build a State, you blew it and plunged the entire Strip into chaos just because of one goal - to destroy israel. "palestinians" also took pride in their support from Saddam. He's gone now, and "pals" have been tossed from Kuwait and Iraq. Feeling proud now?
22. PERHAPS BERLUSCONI HAS LOOKED AT A MAP
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne,   (02.03.10)
If Iran succeeds in getting footholds in Gaza and Lebanon courtesy of Hamas and Hizbollah it'll acquire western bases for its medium and long range missiles. Then the whole of North Africa and Europe, including Italy, come into range of Iranian aggression. That is the geopolitics of the situation and I think that Berlusconi knows it. And that is why Israel's struggle with Hamas,Hizbollah and Iran is Europe's and Italy's struggle and they'd better hope that Israel wins.
