1. Fly them to Tehran they will like it there
Avi ,   Israel   (02.10.10)
They will feel at home there
2. Doubt it
Shalom Hartman   (02.10.10)
The only ones who will go, are those that it's not necessary to do all the long, hard preparations for. Open any hareidi paper these days and there a multitude of "hareidi" vacations over Pesach vying for bookings - I can't see this one being any great success.
3. #2 It's such shame
Home again B'H ,   B. Brak   (02.10.10)
that more and more religious and also chareidi children don't and wont know what a true 'home' Seder, how to prepare for it, and change over of dishes etc. In their ads in chareidi newspapres in english, the chareidim don't even mention Seder night. They just say that you can have a private one. The stress is on the magicians, the singers, pools, spas etc. Sad how even the chareidim have changed...and not for the better.
4. if only it was being done in greece,
svietka ,   shomron   (02.10.10)
and i m a secular who keeps pesah-but still will not go to turkey. Screw them, just got back from Rhodes, maybe i will go back to creete for pesah-loved the place. turks r still not forgiven as far as most of israelis r concerned-they dont need our money and we dont need their attitude
5. re: Home again b"H
Shalom Hartman   (02.10.10)
Couldn't agree more. People I've spoken to who have been away for Pesach normally say that the seder was a disaster with the kids more interested in the neighbors table than their own. Then they had to eat the meal by 11:30pm so that the waiters can get home. Nope - I prefer to roll up my sleeves; help my wife clean for Pesach, and enjoy reliving the coming out of Egypt in my own front room.
6. I think many of them will go...
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (02.10.10)
... out of spite or their anti-Zionist principles. It's perfect for them. Except that Turkey is trying very hard to remain a secular nation.
7. pesach and turkey don't sound too good
gal1 ,   israel   (02.10.10)
infact why on earth would any jew in there right mind want to go out of israel and help the enemy economy rebuild itself instead of staying in the holy land and enjoying a real pesach with the kids.
8. #7 - Answer
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (02.10.10)
Because the haridim oppose the Zionist state of Israel and probably consider it a real mitzva to help an "enemy" (mind you, I don't consider Turkey an enemy) economy. Haven't some haredim met up with some of the most notorious members of various terrorist organizations, not to mention the president of Iran?
9. Turkish Passover Trips
BOYCOTT TURKEY! ,   Libya   (02.10.10)
Boycott Turkey, eat Chicken - this will teach them a lesson they will never forget!
10. You are right #1
Atheist Turk ,   Germany   (02.10.10)
And they should take there Muslim friends with them. Actually there are resorts for them already in Turkey. I ended up in one without knowing it. I left after the first day. It was very funny.
11. Zionists are not welcomed to Turkey-Ajar should resign!
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (02.11.10)
Turkish Tourism Minister should immediately resign! Zionist are not welcomed to Turkey, Not zionist jews are welcomed! This Turkish minister acts on behalf of Zionist Israelis and does not represent Turkish public opinion and I am in doubt if he represents his goverment's opinion either given PM Erdogan's stance against Israel
12. Trips to Turkey
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (02.11.10)
Forget it ! I for one am never ever taking a trip to Turkey. The words that spatted out of the Turkish PM's mouth recently has ruined Turkey for me. I am not even reading this article or talkbacks.
13. No surprise Turkey targets the non-Zionist sector
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (02.11.10)
This group may be "haredi-lite", but the fact they would even consider traveling to Turkey shows they lack even a modicum of national self-respect. Their country is defamed and libeled, but they don't care; the vacation will be "kosher".
14. Warning: In Turkey No State subvention for BREAD like Israel
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (02.11.10)
Therefore most of Israelis may die of hunger as Israelis are used to buy and survive state subsidized bread You had better not come to Turkey
