2. What Bashar Al Wahsh really means for Lebanon
Genuine Tosefta ,   Tveria   (02.07.10)
is to annex and make it a province of Syria by bashing Israel for annexing traditional Jewish regions of Judea, Samara and Golan Heights

I guess the Syrians forgot what it feels like to have their asses kicked like they did back in the 80's with their massive losses in aerial dogfights with the IAF. Damascus is within range of Israeli artillery on the Golan. If a war breaks out Damascus and Beirut are going to end up looking like Haiti after the earthquake - Paradise is going to run out of virgins.
4. Assad trying to compete with Ahmadinejad as best commedian

Assad starts the wars in Lebanon he doesn't try and finish them. Hizbollah is the terrorist branch of the Syrian army who Assad uses to fight his wars against Israel through Lebanon. Assad is not going to send his own troops with their weaponry from the 60s & 70s so he sends terrorists and if they operate out of Lebanon then he has deniability and Israel doesn't drop bombs in Syria. Assad doesn't care about Lebanon and he still sees Lebanon as a province of greater Syria and feels humiliated about being driven out and wants to control the country again via Hizbollah. Israel must not allow Hizbollah to provoke it into another Lebanon war. If Assad wants a war lets take it to him drop the bombs in Syria not Lebanon which is not guilty for Assads wars. If Israel wants to avoid conflicts with Hizbollah via Syria in future then we must go straight for the snakes head in Damascus. Even dropping a single bomb on Assads palace when he is out with a warning that that the next battle will be in Damascus not Beirut.

Enzo ,   London, UK   (02.07.10)
Yesterday Walid Jumblatt said the same thing: "Lebanon stands by Syria in case of an Israeli attack". These people never learn...!
8. #2. The golan heights are not Jewish.
Adele ,   Toronto   (02.07.10)
Neither are the West Bank. Since Israel loves pulling out the "UN Resolution" card for Lebanon and Syria how about doing the same for yourself with UN Resolution 242: Get the hell out of the occupied territories.

Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (02.07.10)
Syria started a war, lost it, and as a consequence, lost part of its territory. Get used to it and stop whining.
10. #9 According to your thinking...
(02.07.10)
it is also okay if Israel loses its territory in case Iran and other Middle Eastern allies starts a war against Israel. There are unfortunately far too many people who share your thinking on this. But are you aware we live in 21st century? Are you also aware that you are defending gaining territory by war? This means any power(s) can start a war against Israel and keep the land gained by war.

Germany started WW2 , lost it but Britain never kept any land from your country

1) The Golan is jewish it was part of biblical Judea. Large parts of the Golan were also bought for the zionists by the Rothschild family in the early 20th century. The League of Nations mandate given to the British to work to create a jewish homeland in Palestine was supposed to include the Golan but the British illegally gave it to France in exchange for Mousal. Syria started a war in 1967 Israel just happened to win it and capture what was always supposed to belong to it. You think that if Syria had won the war and captured large parts of the Galilee that they would be returning it or would they be saying we won, Israel lost and we are never giving up the Galilee. 2) The West Bank is biblical Judea and Samaria, it was also supposed to be part of the jewish homeland but again its thanks to an illegal British action that it didn't. The British brought a Heshimite prince from Arabia, took 80% of the land alocated to the jews under their mandate and created the Kingdom of Transjordan. 3) Resolution 242 says nothing about the palestinians or creating a palestinian sate. It talks about exchanging TERRITORIES not ALL territory for a just and lasting peace recognition of all each other. Resolution 242 was specially drafted saying territories rather than all territory because the UN didn't even expect Israel to return everything it was expected to be a negotiated solution not arabs saying we want that you will give it to us. 4) Judea & Samaria is DISPUTED tterritory not occupied because on paper it doesn't belong to either Israel which never annexed it or the palestinians as they don't have a state. Both sides want it but legally it belongs to neither so its disputed. 5) Israel also has no legally defined border to forced to withdraw to because the UN resolution which would have given Israel 51% of mandate Palestine never came into effect as planned and because of the war in 1948 started by the arabs Israel within the so called green line whch is a ceasefire line gives Israel 78% of Palestine. So it has no clear national border to return to so its whatever it can manage to get until the day legal border is established.

I agree completely, except I'd say the head of the snake spits its venom from tehran, not damascus. The coward assad is more appropriately represented by another part of the snake's anatomy...
19. #10 Your logic skills are not too great
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (02.08.10)
Funny how you twist facts to suit your agenda. Albrecht in #9 mentioned that Syria STARTED a war and lost it - therefore it has no claims to its lost land. Whereas you bring a totally different example where Israel loses territory after BEING ATTACKED by Iran. You really can't tell the difference?

Israel must not give up one hectare of land . Israel must know , that there cannot be peace with the Arabs as long as the current irrational hatred against the Jews is continuing in the world. The continuing antisemitism throughtout the ages have been foretold - however Israel also has been told that the land ( current Israel and Judea and Samaria will belong to the Jewish people ( including Jerusalem) The Arabs should go to Jordan - leave Israel
