1. Canadian opposition more at ease groveling to Arabs at UN
Sam ,   Canada   (02.10.10)
2. A dumb Prime Minister.
Adele ,   Toronto   (02.10.10)
Our PM's blind support for Israel has caused the deaths of many brave Canadians overseas (for example, during the lebanon war, Israel bombed a UN compound killing 6 (?) Canadians). And wow, I find it funny how the government cuts support for one organization critical of Israel but doesn't do it for the other(organizations in support of Israel). He's an Israeli puppet that will only result in untolerable support for international law violations (occupied Jerusalem and war crimes).
3.  YESHUA REIGN/RAIN IN CANADA
CAROL   (02.10.10)
Thank you Prime Minister Harper Our country Canada is BLESSED to have a man ruling our nation who believes in the GOD OF ISRAEL, THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, ISAAC AND JACOB.
4. We have AS from AntiIsraelism-now AS from ProIsraelism
Alan ,   SA   (02.10.10)
We cant win can we?
5. anti-Zionism vs. anti-semitism
israeli ,   israel   (02.10.10)
But I thought anti-semitism had nothing to do with anti-Zionism. Don't Canadian politicians in the opposition know that?
6. Support for Israel may spark anti-Semitism?
Stephen Franklin ,   London UK   (02.10.10)
Harper is Christian. How could his support for Israel possibly spark anti-Semitism?
7. To: No. 2
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.10.10)
How many Canadians have died in support of Iraq and Afghanistan? Hint: I happen to know the answer to that one, and it's a whole heckuva lot more than six! Look it up, Addle.
8. #2 - Adele - you left out Nasrallah's war crimes
William ,   Israel   (02.10.10)
The Canadians you refer to at the UN building were targeted because Hizbullah was firing rockets at Israel right NEXT to the UN building, and the Canadians knew it! One Canadian solider was writing an e-mail stating that fact and expressed him fear of being targeted by the IDf because of that fact. So, do you Canadians blindly support terrorist war criminals, or is it just you, Addie?
9. A righteous man in power.
Keren ,   IL-BR   (02.10.10)
And this is a rare thing to happen. He should keep in this way because he and his people will be greatly blessed. Following ones own conscience with the right and good will ultimately be rewarded. We are used to see "leaders"following the minset(evil mindset) in history and always disaster comes with these alliances. A man like this in an importnat country as Canada will make the difference in History, opening a new chapter of truth(for a -good -change!) G-d bless him!
10. Harper is an Anti-Semite himself
(02.10.10)
When Jewish people get Shanah Tova messages to their door from the Prime Minister's office, yet Muslims don't receive Ramadan Karim messages or Merry Christmas to Christians, it creates a rift in society. Not to mention Jewish addresses are frequently targeted that the Prime Minister is pro-Israel and the opposition isn't. To the blind Jewry of Canada that supports this man, he is dangerous and only using us for political gain.
11. Thank you, Mr. Harper.
Philippe ,   Montreal, Canada   (02.10.10)
Finally, a Canadian PM who isn't afraid of taking moral stances or being a leader. Addle and others like her would only see Canada as a pathetic semi-state, sheepishly towing the line of European states that are hostage to their minorities and oil needs. Pathetic. Harper is a hero.
12. this is the liberals trying to drive a wedge between jews
ralph   (02.10.10)
and the conservative successful outreach to the jewish people. as a former liberal voter i not only disagree but i will continue to openly support the conservative party and vote for them. ask yourself when the liberal party courted the jews but did not deliver why they never raised this issue. the answer is because it was them not the conservatives. she is trying to scare us from exercising our rights. she is saying be quiet be careful you do not have full rights. the proper response is to tell her to go to hell.
13. Harper is strongly pro-apartheid, must go
Nour ,   Palestine   (02.10.10)
Canadian values stand firm in the face of Harper ass-licking to Israel and its disgusting apartheid record. Canada's foreign policy must reflect these values. Time to vote Harper out.
14. Every head of state that supports Israel is always crucified
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (02.10.10)
By the leftist media, leftist activists and Arab-apologists worldwide. Look at George W. Bush, Silvio Berlusconi, and even Tony Blair who were all very sympathetic to Israel's safety needs. Look at Mubarak who works to eradicate the smuggling to Gaza and maintain the peace with Israel. All these leaders suffered huge criticism from their own country as well as internationally, mainly for being "corrupt" or "fascist" or "murderer". Harper is therefore no exception. If you are a world leader and you care for Israel, get ready to face endless criticism and blind hatred. While on the other hand, we have the ever-so-popular Obama, Chavez, Erdogan and Zapatero.
15. Nour
jb ,   Canada   (02.10.10)
You ought to know all about apartheid! Where are the Jews in Muslim lands? And as for persecution of Christians and destruction of churches; I know you're familiar with that too. We don't need jihadists like you telling us how to vote particularly when your history of democracy is exactly ZERO!!
16. # 10. you know nothing! you only reveal your lack of knowled
ralph   (02.10.10)
17. Opposition strategy
Maurice ,   Montreal   (02.10.10)
The oppsition in Canada is trying any which way possible to gain support as elections are approaching. But the majority of Canadians (just like our Prime Minister ) are staunch supporters of Israel, and the opposition's strategy can only backfire. We are proud of our M. Harper, the first PM in Canada not afraid of siding clearly with what is morally just.
18. #8 William, the problem with your two cents worth..
Sean ,   Montreal, Quebec   (02.10.10)
..is that it is only worth two cents. Your mindless assessments to justify why Arabs have to die are quite one thing. You are out on a limb on this one. IDF had plenty of warning of the UN peacekeepers. Readers on this site know all too well, Israel's love of the UN. What is most troubling is that you might actually believe that every time an innocent person dies at the hands of the IDF it is because "terrorists" were using them as shelter. You are either intentionally naive or someone who shows a callous disregard for the truth. In response to whether Canadians blindly support war criminals? The answer, in the case of Stephen Harper, is yes. There is no need to put much credence to these claims by the woman from the Jewish group in Canada. The Official Opposition has among its star members, Irwin Cottler. The Liberal Party of Canada has long been the favoured choice for the Jewish electorate. Harper is ambitious to a fault and will go to any measure to secure the Jewish demographic. His party is filled with reactionary forces and the Prime Minister himself , upon realizing the possibility of votes in Quebec, declared that the Québecois were a nation. And Sarah, if you are reading this, you are right in regard to Afghanistan, however Canada did not go into Iraq with the possible exception of covert ops which have never been officially recognized. The greater danger to Israeli Canadian relations is the rather cavalier attitude in justifying the Canadian deaths as well as Israel's continued illegal use of Canadian passports when carrying on covert actions abroad. Israel does not much like the UN but that does not excuse the murder of Canadians while in the UN's employ. If the admission of the use of white phospherous is not enough for you to question whether every action of the IDF is morally justified then there is something desperately wrong.
19. if anita was a true democracy believer she would defend jews
former liberal voter   (02.10.10)
from such charges, but instead she threatens us, she tries to scare us in accepting the stab in the back policies of the liberals. say one thing to us, get our vote then act against us. you cannot any longer trust the liberals.
20. Harper Supporting Israel and the wish washy liberal
Samuel ,   Tel Aviv   (02.10.10)
I was always a Liberal when I lived in Canada until I came to live in Tel Aviv. Now I see the Canadian Liberals for the hypocrites and spineless politicians whom they are. I commend highly Mr. Haper for his conistent and integral support of Israel---even at the cost of his own possible political support. Only fools would insist that supporting Israel would lead to anti-semitism. If Harper believes in us than perhaps other non-Jews will see the light and wisdom of supporting Israel's right to self defence and security. The Liberals don't stand on any side of the fence, only the one that caters to everyone and no one. Kudos to Stephen Harper---a principled PM for Canada.
21. Wow Liberals are Stupid
GHook93 ,   Chicago   (02.10.10)
To try to mask thei cowardly antisemitism the liberals try to say being pro-Israel hurts Jews. Wow do they think we are stupid. Whether they support or do not support Israel isn't going to matter in the eyes of the antisemites!
22. I am proud of Harper .Thank you MP.
A proud Canadian   (02.11.10)
23. Harper---Stand Strong!
Herut ,   New York, USA   (02.11.10)
For all the ignorant people who blindly support groups like Kairos, just go to their website and follow the link to their "Palestinian" site where there is a photo of a young child dressed in a kaffiyeh, headband, and a stone in his raised hand! Such groups as Kairos are cancers seeking to destroy our western world!
24. For Liberals, moral clarity is deemed a vice
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (02.11.10)
Liberals' core values manifest in their moral equivalence, their tolerance for the intolerable, their multi-cultural rubbish. Even in the face of evil, they attempt to maintain "even handedness". Why, given the persistent desire of most Arab countries, and most Palestinians, to see Israel destroyed is it unseemly to side with Israel? Harper in this conflict is on the side of righteousness. Only the moral blindness of the Liberals keeps them from seeing this.
25. #18
jb ,   canada   (02.11.10)
Talk about mindless assessments... More like parroting PLO and Hamas propaganda. Thanks for throwing around all those usual phrases like "callous disregard for truth", "blindly support" etc etc. Then accusing Harper of going to any length to buy the Jewish vote. Do you know what percentage of the Canadian populace are Jews? Look it up before you make ludicrous accusations! The danger to Canadian?Israeli relations is your type of non-thinking BS no doubt influenced by those egalitarian types at Concordia! For a province whose history vis a vis Jews is nothing short of despicable, you should concentrate on history and an analysis of fact from more than 1 biased source rather than just pandering to unsubstantiated, unverifiable and prejudiced comments. Asfar as "cavalier" behaviour is concerned, are you living on the moon? Check out the behaviour of Hamas and Fatah to each other in Gaza or the Sunnis and Shia everywhere. Oops sorry there just Arabs, so who cares, right Sean old boy?
26. Who's the dumb one, #2
emmess ,   Niagara, Canada   (02.11.10)
There is only one government in the entire world that is pro-Israel and the post-Jews jump all over it. It's sickening the way "Jews" promote the propaganda of the enemy.
27. Kow-towing to anti-Semites only encourages them
Z   (02.11.10)
When Canada supports Israel, this show that most Canadians are decent people who support Israel and oppose the thugs and terrorists that constantly seek to destroy it, and to attack Jews wherever we live. When Canada shows strong support for the civil rights of its local Jews - among other things, the right to be free of violent intimidation by leftists, religious crazies and nazies - it shows that it is willing to oppose thuggery and terrorism at home. To kow-tow to the thugs and terrorists by abandoning Israel - and worse, by hanging their own Jewish citizens out to dry - does NOT reduce anti-Semitism. IT HAS THE OPPOSITE EFFECT. It convinces the thugs and the terrorists that through intimidation and violence, they can cow even the Canadian government. As such, the thugs and the terrorists will increasingly use violence against Canada. And this will hurt ALL Canadians. Once this genie is released from its bottle, it will be MUCH harder to bottle up again. Don't let that start. The Jews, as usual, are the "canary in the coal mine." The Harper government has done a very effective job of keeping thuggery in check. The opposition has apparently agreed upon a policy of kow-towing to thugs and terrorists and flushing Jews down the drain. The Opposition are clearly not only disingenuous, but STUPID. Disgusting.
28. NEVILLE SIMILAR WORDS AS Hanna Kawas the Canada-Pal. org.
ABRAHAM ben JACOB ,   CANADA   (02.11.10)
Anita Neville used almost the same words and theme as Hanna Kawas. Hanna Kawas, is the chairwoman of the Canada-Palestine Association that the Canadian government's decision would only increase anti-Semitism. Think about that ! NEVILLE'S POLITICS PLACES HER UNWITTINGLY SO CLOSE TO THE ANTI-ISRAEL CAMP'S POSITION ON THIS MATTER. I among many Canadians are for Prime Minister HARPER -- HE IS NOT AFRAID TO STAND UP FOR TRUTH AND DEMOCRACY AND AGAINST TERROR.
29. There are two Prime Ministers that favor Israel. And they are
Stephen ,   USA   (02.11.10)
They are: Canada's Stephen Harper And Australian's Mr.Rudd. I am certain Mr.Harper is even more pro' Israel than Mr.Rudd. May they both remain steadfast and not change. Now we also need Obama to begin to take a stand against the jihadist and terrorist Iran. Then the meetings of the three will be complete.
30. Ynet for Tomorrow:To most Canadians who do not .:
Stephen ,   USA   (02.11.10)
Do not follow the letist liberals: Your votes count. You have so many states who may outvote Mr.Harper. Come election time and you go to the ballot box, reflect wisely.. I don't know if your voting system is akin to the British one, i.e First passed the post system..that I approve.Rather than proportional representation which is the worst way to mess up the system that has worked for gernerations. .Example is the LIberal Party in the the UK that has been in the wilderness for many decades. Just like the Israeli system of proportional representation pursues without any good result. Some think it is an·ti·quat·ed mode, but it is not, and very effective. If so Mr.Harper should witout a doubt be re-elected. I for one hope so.
