1. Fractual movements only
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (02.12.10)
They are off by more than a kilometer, but have moved a couple of millimeters. HRW has a very long way to go before they earn back any sort of respect.
2. At the same time they are continuing to lie about Israel
zvi   (02.12.10)
They have been at it even this week, on the Naomi Hazan matter. This article is simply wishful thinking.
3. i wonder what they found on garlasco
dani   (02.12.10)
a shrine to goebbels in his basement, perhaps?

working for anrwa, human rights watch and amnesty international ARE FUNDED BY ANI ISRAEL ARAB FUNDING. THEY HAVE TO TOW THE LINE IN LINE WITH THE ARAB VOICED. that means israel, in their minds, is guilty no matter what and can never do anything right. they have to tow the line of the person that butters their bread and therefore can never be unbiased. any person working for these outdated and useless organizations that DO NOTHING ON OTHER ISSUES OF HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSES IN ANY COUNTRY AROUND THE WORLD, AND RESERVE THEIR CRITICISM ONLY FOR ISRAEL, DO A HUGE DISSERVICE TO OTHER OPRESSED PEOPLE IN IRAN, CHINA, TIBET, SRI LANKA. NORTH KOREA, RUSSIA, BALKANS, SAUDI ARABIA, JORDAN, YEMEN, EGYPT, SYRIA, TURKEY, ETC... if israel was not involved on their agenda, all these people would NEVER HAVE A JOB TO GO TO AND WOULD BE ON UNEMPLOYMENT. anrwa has to be DISMANTLED ASAP. THE PALESTINIANS HAVE TO BE INTEGRATED INTO THE SOCIETIES OF COUNTRIES IN WHICH THEY WERE BORN IN AND RESIDE IN, RESTORING THEIR FULL CIVIC RIGHTS AND THEIR FULL INTEGRITY. human rights watch and amnesty should completely throw the old guard and ideology out of their organization, lend much more attention to other genocidal issues 100% more severe that the pal/ israel conflict and END THEIR DEPENDENCE ON ARAB AND MUSLIM MONEY AND FUNDS. END IT NOW, OR DISCLOSE YOUR DONATION LOGS AND SHOW THE WORLD WHERE YOUR MONEY AND FUNDS COME FROM ASAP. all these organizations are irrelevant as long as their funds come from islamic countries with a singular agenda...to vilify only one country and only one, israel. hameed aboughaze, iranian
5. Seeking funds from slave owners in Saudi Arabia did it for..
Eitan ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (02.12.10)
...me. When the leaders of an organization that considers itself a watch for human rights go to slave owners in the 21st century by way of seeking financial support, it is a very clear indication such people lost all moral directions. Slavery, one of the most terrible phenomena in human history is still a wide spread one in the Arab Middle East, but neither HRW nor Amnesty International nor a whole list of other organizations that pretend to defend the rights of man seem to care about it in this part of the world. One must therefore ask the simply question: Why??!! But when this is coupled with constant attempt to find wrongs with the tiny state of Israel, its soldiers and political leaders, and now even with its legal system, of which the Goldstone is only the latest such example, one begins to appreciate the factors that truly motivate these people on the watch...!!! Shame on you, HRW, and shame on Amnesty International and their local off springs who'd rather see the demise of Israel before the demise of slavery in human society.

I COULDN'T HAVE SAID THIS BETTER MYSELF. I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU POSTED. INDEED, VERY ACCURATE AND HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD, SO TO SPEAK. HAMEED ABOUGHAZE, IRANIAN

8. the second Saudi Arabia
Ilana   (02.12.10)
and any other dictatorship or false democracy- like voted in leaders (vote for me or die...) are involved in HRW it loses all credibility. The countries involved and donating should not include Saudi Arabia and the like where there are NO human rights.
9. Only way for credibility is for entire board to resign
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (02.12.10)
HRW cannot fix itself with a few bandaids. It needs major surgery to lop off the gangrenous limbs. The single only way HRW can regain any credibility is for its entire board to resign and be replaced. HRW's almost fanatical obsession with Israel bashing has left the rest of the world behind. There are regions that require immediate and urgent action by the world's human rights organizations, and HRW is simply not there. The obsession with loving the Palestinians despite their gawdawful human rights record and attacking Israel despite the flood of human rights atrocities in other regions means that HRW has abandoned universal human rights. Right now according to HRW, Palestinians are more equal than others, and Israelis are simply not human beings with legitimate human rights. HRW should either change it's leadership or close down. They are not doing the world any good as they are now.
10. To #5
Mohammad ,   Jordan   (02.12.10)
You said that slavery in still wide spread in the Arab middle east, would you please provide a reference for this info? I know that Mauritania and some other african countries are still practicing slavery, but you accused Arab countries and mentioned Saudia arabia in particular, so are you able to substantiate your claim?
11. Funding from tramplers of human rights
R ,   Israel   (02.12.10)
Hmmm, they get funds from Saudi Arabia, a country where basic human rights are denied to over 50 percent of the population (women)... No wonder.
12. Widespread slavery in the Arab Middle East: Simply Google...
Eitan ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (02.12.10)
...for terms such as Arab slavery or slavery in Arab countries. The net is loaded with information about this widespread practice published in both books and articles, in newspaper reports and in opinion pieces. Just do the homework.
13. WORLD IS NOT IDIOT TO BELIEVE IN ISRAEL'S POLITICAL ...
...POZITIVE MOVEMENT ,   Atilla Karagözoğlu   (02.12.10)
what I mean ? I MEAN ISRAEL IS PLAYING AS DOUBLE DEALER. I DONT BELIEVE THAT ISRAEL UNDERSTOOD ITS MISTAKES IN GAZA. israel is just working to make world people relax on the gaza. no way. no way. NO WAY I SEE ISRAEL IS CHANGED EVEN A LITTLE.
14. TO #5 Look who's talking about slavery!!!!!
Salma ,   Palestine   (02.12.10)
Do yu know who said this? "I don't know something called International Principles. I vow that I'll burn every Palestinian child (that) will be born in this area. The Palestinian woman and child is more dangerous than the man, because the Palestinian childs existence infers that generations will go on, but the man causes limited danger. I vow that if I was just an Israeli civilian and I met a Palestinian I would burn him and I would make him suffer before killing him. With one hit I've killed 750 Palestinians (in Rafah in 1956). I wanted to encourage my soldiers by raping Arabic girls as the Palestinian women is a slave for Jews, and we do whatever we want to her and nobody tells us what we shall do but we tell others what they shall do." Ariel Sharon, the Butcher of Shatila and Sabra (this is your hero in "Israel") I hope Ynet publish this
15. #10 from Jordan
Gilad ,   London UK   (02.12.10)
While I did not spend more than 5 minutes on this topic, I quickly found several links, including a BBC story, about child slavery and child trafficking in Saudi Arabia, that is far worse than any comparable child trafficking rings in Europe. An alarabiya article (Saudi activists liken child marriages to slavery) also highlights how one can force children to marriage at a young age and how this is akin to modern slavery. Slavery in the old sense may not be as strong in S. Arabia or some of the other nations, but in the more modern sense it is still quite alive.
16. :: Eitan - #5
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (02.12.10)
Eitan should remember (before he jumps on his moral hobbyhorse) that slavery is also rampant in Israel. For his reference I will point him to these YNET articles however the internet has a ton more information about this widespread Israeli practice - just do the homework. ---------------------- Israel's sex slaves "According to estimates by the foreign workers assistance call center, every month there are about a million "visits" to slaves who are traded into slavery in Israel." www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3384268,00.html Israel improves in addressing human trafficking problem "Israel was among 23 nations placed on a US 'Watch List' regarding trafficking in human persons in 2005, the second lowest category on an annual State Department report" www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3411879,00.html Israel carped for human trafficking "Between 1,000 and 3,000 foreign women work as prostitutes and as many as 20,000 foreigners are subjected to forced labor in Israel, the report said, citing independent groups." www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3259243,00.html
17. Mariam Sobh is a tried and true lier
Ilana   (02.12.10)
I insist this racist and inflammatory material be deleted. It has been proven completely false Investigation: This quote was found on hundreds of Arab Web sites, and indeed, seems to be a a staple of anti-Israel propaganda. It cannot be found, however, in any text book, news article, or published record, nor is there any mention or record of a General Ouze Merham anywhere else. (Another giveaway is that the term “Palestinian” was not in use in 1956. It only came into vogue in the 1960's.) Student columnist Mariam Sobh used the quote in her December 11, 2003 Daily Illinicolumn, but later had to apologize.
18. :: Eitan - #5
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (02.12.10)
Eitan do you have any *proof* to back up your statement that HRW raised funds in Saudi Arabia either from the Saudi Gov or from Saudi officials? As you sincerely believe that HRW are fundraising in Saudi Arabia you must have some solid evidence to back up your belief - what is this proof?
19. "Child slavery in Saudi Arabia", yet the HRW is silent, as
Eitan ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (02.12.10)
the advocate of Arabs-can-do-no-wrong at this thread. What a cynical approach: Blame Israel and the Jews for all ills in society and do so obsessively towards de-humanizing the Jews, de-letitimize their national home and demonize all that is Jewish and Israeli. But no, don't you even attempt to speak ill of our Muslim-Arab society and if you mention our prophet we shall burn your home. Yes, what we face here is part of the Unholy Trinity: Classic anti-Semites collaborating with "Progressive" anti-Jewish racists and 7th century based Islamists.
20. :: Eitan - #5 - Hilarious paranoia
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (02.12.10)
Yet again Eitan tries to imply that HR Orgs such as HRW are not focusing on modern day slavery in the ME and surrounding regions. His allegation is totally false. Below is a list of countries and the number of reports that HRW have published in relation to ‘slavery’: Africa (24) Asia (13) Middle East/N. Africa (8) Indonesia (7) Democratic Republic of Congo (6) Cote d'Ivoire (4) Malaysia (4) Morocco/Western Sahara (4) Saudi Arabia (4) Sudan (4) Sierra Leone (5) Americas (3) El Salvador (3) Guinea (3) India (3) Liberia (3) Togo (3) Uganda (3) Europe/Central Asia (2) These 100+ reports can be easily accessed on the HRW website. Hilarious paranoia! HRW reports on countries all over the world, if HRW reports on the human rights violation in Israel and the occupied territories then that is *because* Israel is violating human rights. If Eitan feels that HRW is ‘constantly’ pointing out Israeli human rights violations that is because Israeli is ‘constantly’ violating human rights.
21. Matty Groves #16 name one country that doesn't have the same
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (02.12.10)
The US, UK, etc. ALL have similar problems. Are they morally wrong - you better believe it. Is child rape by the Arabs wrong - hell us, but it is legal and institutionalized whereas the rest of us condemn it and outlaw it. That is the difference. But hypocrites and liars like you are too stupid to see it.
22. The usual propoganda...
Mikesailor ,   Miami, FL   (02.12.10)
espoused by NGO Monitor. Actually, HRW has bent over backwards to be fair. They have criticized Hamas actions as well as Israeli actions. For most Israelis however, that is not good enough. Any critical report concerning Israel must somehow be attacked merely because it shows Israel in an unflattering light. The article itself shows a remarkable propensity for pure dishonesty. It begins by noting that a military expert collects Nazi military memorabilia. Does that fact automatically call into question his qualifications? I remember that the Israelis just arrested a Palestinian in Bi'lin for collecting Israeli memorabilia: spent tear gas canisters and bullets. Israeli apologists never let the facts interfere with the myths they propogate. Rather than examine the facts, they insist on denigrating the messenger. As if that will somehow make the facts irrelevant.
23. #14 Disgusting liar
Gilad ,   London UK   (02.12.10)
I can't believe Ynet will publish such smears against Ariel Sharon! To publish such lies, as you write, that he promoted rape? This is disgraceful. Ynet I hope you remove it at once! Unlike Palestinians, Israel doesn't have camps training children to be Jihadis. So stop quoting lies and portraying your own peoples hate on to others. The only cases of rape are recorded by victims of Arab regimes!
24. my post in #17 refers to erasing post #14
Ilana   (02.12.10)
Please erase #14. It is inciteful, was proven completely wrong. It is slander and I will report the poster to the various organizations thattake care of slander in a legal way. It just goes to show how completely unreliable Salma (and her friends) are. Willing to use lies to promotetheir racist opinions.
25. :: Eitan - #5 this is hilarious
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (02.12.10)
You see Eitan - #5, I have to say all those things, it is in my blood, sucked it in with my mother's milk, to always strongly believe the worst about Jews that my fertile imagination comes up with eat you heart out impostor!
26. HR Activists
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (02.12.10)
These human rights groups are real trouble however they do excel at stopping racists from displaying vile hate filled signs in shops. I have to give credit where it is due they really helped to clear up my street.
27. Amnesty & HRW
jason white ,   afula,israel   (02.12.10)
There is this desert called the Sinai desert and people usually get lost there for sometimes before they get to their senses. G-d help Israel come to its senses and make peace with the palestinians before it is to late.

30. #12 - Hell, just ask Indians and Philippinos in UAE
William ,   Israel   (02.12.10)
They have plenty of experience of being treated as second-class citizens, being forced to observe Muslim rituals in public (like having to hide to eat on Ramadan), and constantly being threatened with revocation of their visa if complaining. Egyptians do this alot with Darfurian refugees.
