Most likely al-Mabhouh had double crossed Iran and they decided to take him out and make it look like Israel did it. I only know of two incidents where mistakes were made and no where near this amaturish. But the bottom line is that al-Mabhouh is dead and that is the most important and the weapons supply has been impacted. Jake suggests a frame-up, and I'm inclined to agree. Though many of us would like to turn to Mossad and say, "Way to go! Nicely done.", there's a lot that just doesn't fit. Why, for example, would Mossad leave fingerprints pointing back to Israel? Why so many involved, when Israeli teams tend to be small? How is it that the only folks thus far arrested include one linked to Hamas (in Syria) and two to Fatah (in Jordan), while several of the latest "suspects" fled to ... IRAN? The key, I suspect, is in airline databases. Someone intent on running a "false flag" operation pointing to Israel could have pulled names off travelers to Israel along with their passport data. And with so many Arabs and Muslims now working in Western airports - not just as shuttle drivers, security screeners and baggage handlers - it's fair to assume some work in the back rooms and have access to such data.

Back in 1972, when I was due to travel to London via Italy, my passport was at the Italian Consulate waiting for a visa. I woke up to hear that 160 passports were stolen from the Italian Consulate in Tel Aviv - it was with the help of an insider at the Italian Consulate. As I HAD to travel on time and attend my cousin's wedding in London, I used a Protectia I had to be issued a new Israeli passport. However, it was written on my new passport that this is one of the identities stolen by the Palestinians. I suffered for many years after that every time I travelled. No country knew if I was the real innocent Israeli or if I was the Palestinian who faked my ID.
