1. 2 front war
ZD ,   USA   (02.25.10)
you should consider 4 front war including the see.or better 5 or 6 and don't forget the sky when thousands upon thousands of missiles will fall on tour heads.
2. During both operations , the IDF poorly responded to rockets
Joseph.E ,   Givatayim   (02.25.10)
Sure , the IDF knew during the first days of Leb War II to use intel and destroy a lot of medium and long range missiles . But the pictures of rockets hitting Haifa durind Leb War II and Ashdod with Beer Sheva during Cast Lead , Leb the public opinion court to think that the IDF command , the IDF readiness and prepardness was caught pants down . When Barak " expressed his hope that there would be no need to use the IDF's capabilities." Such statement is viewed by the enemy as a Israel moral fatigue and weakness . IDF drills are viewed by allies as warmongering . IDF capabilities must be asserted and projected verbally to have an impact of deterrence .

what you say is only superficially true. You seem to forget that Israel has learned from Lebanon II and will not hold back this time. They will use tactic similar to Gaza but with the concern for civilian human shields that Hamas/Hizbullah/Syria/Iran will use. Israel will be hurt by Islamonazi rocket fire mostly directed against its civilian population, but in return will obliterate Syria, Lebanon and Gaza. Iran unfortunately for its population will be made flat, black, lifeless and glowing in the dark for the next 10,000 years.
4. Saturday Morning Israeli will wake up in a hell
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (02.25.10)
After Friday night Israel hit Iran, as IDF foresee two front both hizbullah and Hamas will attack Israel certainly what is missing above is Iranian missiles raining on you Both Syria and Iran will attack Israel but that is not all.. As soon as Israel was got beaten most of arabic countries, until now silent and tending to negotiate with Israel, may all wage war against Israel. It may be Egypt, or even King Abdullah of Jordan. Egypt is more likely as Mubarak needs some public support againt Baradai, new American replecement for Mubarak. Lebonanese army apperantly will act together with Hizbullah and most likely you wont only face Hizbullah but also Lebonanese Army.

One must not forget, the Syrians have most of the ex-Saddam's biological weapons, which will have one purpose, kill lots of civilians in Israel. Should this happen, Israel will have no choice but to obliterate Syria, Lebanon, Iran and Gaza with nukes. Scary thought, but that's my opinion. Israel will become the biggest country in the Middle East thereafter.
6. The mother (in law) of all wars ... !
Private Shlomele   (02.25.10)
Dear Mr Tayfun from Turkey # 4. I must tell you that I am truly impressed with your superior military " savoir faire", uncanny planning and very sophisticated predictions. Your expertise and long experience in warfare must an invaluable asset to your country. You should be very proud. To be sure, I made a quick check with my " contacts " and did find out that the ' formidable ' Lebonanese army is not quite ready for the big push (so the onslaught will have to wait). Missing spare parts for their T 22 tanks and getting hold of shells that fit, seems to be a major problem. Medals for heroism have yet to be 'stamped' and triple A shoes for the troops are not yet available (flat feet, you know). My other contact tells me that the Israeli army is in no hurry, so all is well. Best wishes from a fervent admirer.
7. Let's make this war count! Retake So. Lebanon/Gaza forever.
Chaim ,   Israel   (02.25.10)
The next war forced on Israel must not be another stupid war of containment or about "teaching them a lesson". Our next war should be a war of permanent solution. We must retake our South Lebanon security zone and Gaza forever. We must permanently reverse the sick retreats which caused all our suffering in the first place.
8. Unlike in '06, this time Syria won't be spared
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (02.25.10)
In the aftermath of the 2006 war in Lebanon, I asked an Israeli analyst why Israel chose not to strike the weapons staging areas in Syria. He argued that Israel (under Olmert) feared Assad would fall only to be replaced by an even more ruthless regime dominated by the Muslim Brotherhood. That may or may not be true. But what's fairly certain is that Syria will be anxious to join in the rumble and will get a well deserved smack-down. And should Iran lift a finger, Nasrallah won't be safe operating from under the Iranian embassy either. Politically things are different as well. Bibi is in charge, not Olmert; Ashkenazi, not Halutz. Lieberman, not Livni. I worry about Barak though. Israel needs someone who won't be negotiating a cease-fire with Kouchner when he should be taking the war to the enemy. The real problem will be Obama and Clinton, but that's another discussion.

Ron B. ,   Lod   (02.26.10)
Making the I.D.F. a credible deterrent once again was a national imperative. When Israel integrated its Jewish identity into its national life, it easily defined its enemies, all its enemies, and restored the spirit of the I.D.F and its deterrence. Now that we can have confidence in the IDF once again, real independence will be much more than a slogan. Independence is not created by poses and declarations, but by military power, economic prowess and national determination. Some details about the I. D. F . at : http://xrl.us/oq28g

Chaim , Israel (02.25.10) EXACTLY !!!. 11. 3 or 4 front war
Andrew P ,   Alexandria VA   (02.26.10)
It will be at least a 3 front war with Iran added to the mix. And the Iranian front will be using bio or nuclear weapons. Add Syria, and you get 4 fronts.

Dream on Tayfun, while at this very moment your military is getting ready to sack that Iranian wannabe Erdogan. Don't say I didn't warn you! Can you spell coup?

Hal ,   Usa   (02.27.10)
Gee Andrew, you got it all figured out and the Iranians will use bio or nuclear weapons. Well gollee, I guess that's the end of Israel and with Syria too! Woowee! Maybe you better warn the Palestinians cause all those missles are gonna kill alot of them too. Geewiz the poor Israelis will probably be so damn scared that they might have to hide and do alot of pray'en. Those darn Iranians will probably be celebrating and handing out candies and such. Poor Israels won't know what hit 'em. Poor bastards.
