6. :: Mossad sees soaring popularity
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (02.26.10)
Why not - everyone likes clowns.
7. Assassination is illegal in the UAE and Internationally.
David ,   Canberra   (02.26.10)
Mossad has a reputation for political assassination, and as a free-thinking supporter of local and international law it strikes me that readers of YNET don't often discuss the legality of such Israeli government actions. School children in Canberra are discussing their fears of the consequence of having their (or people they know) identities stolen for the purpose of committing murder . Perhaps Israels enemies might consider the same tactics, causing distress for Israeli school children? I hope not! When Mahmoud al-Mabhouh was murdered in such a public way in Dubai, the fact that he is a known criminal does not in any way amelierate the crime committed against him. His killers are also criminals who need to be brought to justice (as per UAE and International law)!

Maybe a couple of Bozo"s should visit your town and put on a very special show for you!
9. Matty Groves
Yaron ,   USA   (02.26.10)
You never miss an opportunity to demonstrate your overt ignorance and for that we thank you. Every forum needs its court jester and you my friend fit the bill perfectly. We can only hope you are next on the hit list so we can seek out intelligent discourse here instead though.
10. ESPIONAGE RULE 1: Follow the money!
Umm El Kul Naqba   (02.26.10)
Al-Mabhough was a HAMAS Terrorist leader who was the liason with Iran for acquisition of weapons and desperately needed money to pay HAMAS operatives' salaries. Iran had provided the money but last month's newpapers covered the fact that there was no money to pay operatives in Gaza. Fatah was able to pay their employees. Iran had found out that al-Mabhouh was stealing vast amounts of money and decided to eliminate him. But the problems Iran was facing were the constant pressure against their nuclear enrichment and the major efforts lead by USA and Israel for punishing measures against Iran. They needed to divert attention away from their enrichment program and the efforts of Barak, Clinton, etc. They have been accumulating information about Israelis and paid a very high price to either acquire stolen passports or get the information needed to forge them. Having done so they sent numerous operatives to Dubai to eliminate al-Mabhouh and plant an abundant trail of evidence to try to implicate the Mossad. They gave all the people exactly what they wanted to find and sure enough they sprung the trap and everyone fell for it thinking that it must have been the Mossad. After all al-Mabhouh was dealing with weapons and money, was a leader in HAMAS, was from Gaza, he had killed two soldiers and was responsible for other terror attacks, was on the list of people wanted by Israel, and the Mossad has a long history of eliminating such terrorists. Most people's minds were made up before the assassination even took place so nothing would really change. Everyone would get what they wanted and Iran would have their diversion and eventually milk it for all they could for as long as they could. Remember that this is not the first time that vast sums of money were stolen from the PALs. Arafat did the same thing and diverted the money to his wife Suha in Paris.
11. David @ 7, yes, legality of assassination
leo ,   us   (02.26.10)
can be discussed if there is anything left to discuss, but what Israeli government got to do with it? Aside from Dubai having half of the World a suspect do you really have a single shred of proof that Mossad has anything to do with it?
12. Irony
Rob ,   Mpls, MN USA   (02.26.10)
The ultimate irony is to become what you despise. Secret Service death squads going into another country and killing people. Honestly when I think of this, I think of 1940's Germany. Isreal has huge challenges. I am sympathetic on some level. But walking this road...means becoming comfortable with certain realities. Sad deal period.
13. I can't agree more with you
Anna ,   Montreal, Canada   (02.26.10)
about the fears for the stollen identity. Unfortunately it happens so often. Peoples lives can be messed-up. The police has her hands short. In the case of this individual who's life was all a big crime, who used several stolen identities, and who was wildly known for his crimes and unlawful activities, I am completely disagree with you. Dubai got their first lesson. They knew who he is, and he got the free pass through. Now their reputation is at stake, and not of Mosad. Sure the cameras say much more to the police then they report. But till now the cameras didn't say much about the involvement of Israel, There is no other connection to Israel then some Israeli individuals who hold the dual citizenship and who's names where abused in this event. And what about the other not Israelis' names? Why don't you complain about involvement of the other countries citizens? The role of the spy agencies all over the globe to protect their national interests. Israel has too many enemies in the ME. To put in danger 26 agents for the one running hyena? -Too much power force. Besides the newspaper said that three out of 26 run to Iran. Where is your logic now? Did they run with their Israeli passports or their Israeli names? The world is much better without this criminal. And whoever executed him made a favor to the majority.
14. #7 - Hope they discussed that w/rest of world
William ,   Israel   (02.26.10)
especially Russia when they whacked a Cheneyan commander in Dubai a few years back. Nevermind the countless assassinations by terrorist groups of those "possessing too much knowledge", e.g. Mugniyeh from Hizbullah, the Syrian intelligence commander, etc. Do they know it's "illegal" yet? Perhaps they missed this very important memo from Dubai....which, of course, also detailed how arms smuggling and terrorism is also illegal.
15. :: My bet is that Mossad is not as popular as others
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (02.26.10)
For example, BBS News is much more popular and famous than Mossad because she is my alter ego and Freudian soul mate.
16. :: What really happened in Dubai
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (02.26.10)
Mabhouh the murderer was starved for sex because his youngest fourth wife had a long beard, a mustache and luscious fur all over her body, so this poor murderer lost all appetite for sex. To invigorate himself Mabhouh took a handful of Viagras and invited three Ukrainian prostitutes (you all saw their pictures yesterday as proof) carrying fake passports to his hotel room in Dubai. After an intensive wild night the exhaustion and Viagras caught up with him and Mabhouh the murderer had a heart attack. Upon getting the wind of it, the famous Dubai Royal Camel Mounted Police decided to make themselves even more famous by claiming an international conspiracy in murdering Mabhouh the murderer

that's precisely it!!! IT WAS INEXPERIENCED ARAB CLOWNS THAT DID THE HIT. NOT MOSSAD! by the way, mossad, the best spy agency in the world that both eu and americans learn from and use!!!! hameed aboughaze, iranian
18. #7
(02.26.10)
do you realize how many innocents died at the hand of this arab terrorist??? do you realize how many passports he used in foreign countries to carry such terror plans against other innocent people, you christians and jews, both. do you realize how many terror attacks this oerson carried jurisprudently in other countries???? hameed aboughaze, iranian
19. Many Jews around the world pocess those qualities
Al   (02.26.10)
The benefit is that they dont speak Hebrew and they dont think like an Israeli. They fit in foreign countries like a glove. Just make sure you dont get a Pollard screw up and leave out to dry.
20. >>>>>>>>>>
Adeel Ahmed ,   UK   (02.26.10)
I think rule number one is do not tell anyone. You really think they will hire a guy who has given his name and were abouts to a news agency as a possible future candidate?
21. soar in applications
Glenn ,   Plymouth   (02.26.10)
It speaks volumes about isreali's that so many have applied to joint mossad so that they can carry out murder. What chance of piece, with a country where so many think like this.
22. #20 and 21 is the same person.
Eileen ,   London   (02.26.10)
23. Thanks to the Mossad
Dual-citizenship ,   Andrew   (02.26.10)
Thanks to the Mossad, any Israeli with dual-citizenship will now be seen as an intelligence agent. Good luck when these Israelis try to travel overseas!
24. #21 Plymouth Rock. Judging by your spelling, you will never
get into the FBI,CIA ,   or 3rd grade!!!!   (02.26.10)
25. World Peace requires respect for International Law.
(02.26.10)
If I was tribal, I might support my tribe if it sent representatives to the neighbourhood of another tribe and murdered somone, and feel morally justified because "my tribe" did it! But I'm not so inclined to support murder because I'm not tribal, and murder is illegal (and when the other tribe commits murder, that is illegal). 'Israeli war crimes' in Gaza, 'Mossad murders' in the UAE (if they occur), 'Terrorism' - what religions sanction these things? International law is clear, but Israeli morality, according to the supportive comments here, appears cloudy and self-serving. I am very glad my passport was not used by murderers. What crimes will be next, and which innocents will the perpetrators try to pin it on? Mahmoud al-Mabhouh was an international criminal, and all involved in his murder - while also using stolen identities - have become international criminals (I hope they can can have a trial - rather than summary execution)!
26. Assissination does not violate Intl law
rh ,   chicago USA   (02.26.10)
killing an enemy combatant does not violate international law. The US, Britain and NATO do it all the time. The enemy combatant does not need to be in uniform or on a battle field. It is a crime in the UAE but since they have no diplomatic relations with Israel, this is not relevant.
27. Matty Groves
Hal ,   Usa   (02.26.10)
It is said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery Matty and from reading your posts, either you are a delusional psychotic or are being co-opted by someone with a sense of the absurd. One of your personalities is a flatulent wannabe secret agent and the other is a cheerleader for Mossad. Putting two and two together Matty, I guess it's the former. There are a few here that exibit the same tendencies which lead me to the possibility that you have a severe form of multiple personality disorder. Too bad, I hope your health plan doesn't consider it a pre-existing condition.
28. #23 "Thanks to the Mossad"
Jake   (02.26.10)
Despite all the media hype, there is still not a shred of evidence that this was the Mossad, and if fact a lot of evidence suggests Mossad and Israel were framed. In the end, Israel will still reap the benefit of a dead Hamas terrorist, but the true nature of this false flag operation against Israel will be revealed. Evil plots against Israel do not succeed in the long term.
29. #7, You are a "free-thinker"? You are slave to media hype!
Jake   (02.26.10)
As many many people have pointed out, there is no evidence that this was Mossad, and in fact it much evidence that it wasn't. (2 agents fled to Iran, for example). If you really were a free-thinker, you would always allow for presumption of innocence unti proven guilty. If you really were a free-thinker, you would never call a murder the killing of a confessed mass murderer.
30. Bandwagoners
Hal ,   Usa   (02.26.10)
Too bad te usual bandwagon crowd can't see through an obvious "put up job". A reasonable individual would have to ask themselves why would an orginization such as Mossad make it so easy to finger Israel on a flimzy caper like the Dubai effort ? Any Murder mystery fan can tell that this is too easy. It is too Keystone Cop- like for even Mossad. Especially Mossad. I think the rat in here is that you bandwagon types are a showing your generic disposition to accuse first when it comes to anything Israeli. Good luck with that though.
