Goldstein's friend and son were murdered by Arab terrorists a half year before he went off the bend. There is no way to condone what he did but his actions do have a context as well. Arabs have murdered many innocent people while actions like Goldstein's have been infrequent. Yet the people who run for headlines about Goldstein never have a word of condemnation for Arabs doing similar acts.

Hatred is not the answer and it never was. Only Israelis can change how the world sees Israel. Its time for honest Israelis to look at what is happening on the West Bank and Gaza. You cannot humiliate and starve several million people and not expect them to lash back out at you. There has to be justice for the Palestinian people before there can ever be peace. This not so disguised dismissive comment by the writer leaves a really nasty taste.
