There is no doubt about it! Whether it's reporting France 2's false (proved false in court) Muhammad Al Dura story - which went on to be reported by reporters (including Israelis) worldwide and has become a symbol of the Palestinians, to the usage of false marches in what has been termed 'pallywood'. The stream of vids and pics we had in the early 2000s of "kids with stones against tanks", when those kids had gunmen behind them, or the usage of a blacked out Arafat compound (later Hamas meeting) when really electricity was flowing freely. We have PLENTY of reasons to think foreign journalists often either lie or mislead or are just ignorant. Then we can remember different journalists being 'professional' such as crying at a sick Arafat getting in to a chopper (BBC), falsely continuing to accuse Israel of a massacre in Jenin (Guardian), disproved by all including PA. We also have not forgotten about CNN being given grand tours by Hezbollah officials without any proof that the sites are true to the word of the Hezbollah official (not to mention edited photos in AP and reuters to make damage by Israeli strikes look worse than reality), or unverifiable reports by Al Jazeera about many events in the Gaza conflict. Then we move on to the worst, the purposeful liars. In the UK it's the independents reporter Fisk and Bowen, BBC mideast editor. Both outright mix opinion with (suspect) fact, avoid (or minimize) whereever possible the Israeli narrative and promote the Palestinian one at all costs, such as ONLY discussing the Naqba by Bowen when Israel turned 50. Do I really need to continue? We have so many reasons to doubt foreign journalists that it's unbelievable. Whether they are stupid, ignorant, lack understanding, are after ratings or other, the result is the same. The reporting is false, the opinion is meshed with facts, the facts themselves are often only rumors that cannot be verified and the images are often manipulated. The foreign press associations can complain and argue what they want, but their track record (as a group, not individually of course) is absolutely atrocious and deceitful. Satire or not those adverts depict the truth.

An internal poll of journalists last year showed over 80% to lean left and to always support the underdog which is pretty dumb. Why is it dumb? It's nice to stick up for the underdog, but you also need to ask why he's being beaten, which many journalists haven't often done.

First of all, there are more journalists in Israel than in virtually any place else in the world...except perhaps for Washington, D.C. Why is that? In part it's because it's a lot more enjoyable to sit and drink cocktails in a club in Tel Aviv, than to be stuck in some Middle Eastern hell hole, where you can't drink alcohol or have sex with a woman you aren't married to. But, unfortunately, for Israel, many of these reporters are more like proctologists...examining every nook and cranny of Israeli society, and it's highly doubtful that any country could withstand that sort of unrelenting scrutiny...especially when most of these reporters come to the job with an ideology that says that Israel's most vicious enemies are always the victims...regardless of whatever savage crimes they carry out against innocent Israelis.
