61. #53 - Too bad Obama seems to be reversing that
William ,   Israel   (03.04.10)
"Roosevelt promised King Saud that he, as president of the United States, would take no hostile action against the Arabs and that the United States would not change its basic policy toward the Palestine issue without prior consultations with both Arabs and Jews. " Today, we have the appeaser who promises no action against Arabs, but is moving forward on the Palestine issue by making demands of Jews while giving concessions to Arabs. The new American deal.
62. @57 Wrong. Judaism is a nationality.
Jake ,   USA   (03.04.10)
It only ceased to be a nationality when we were thrown out of our land. Jews have their own language, culture, glorious history, and yes, their own religion. Things which cannot be said about the "palestinian" nation.
63. #62 Jews can't even get along among themselves in Israel
observer   (03.04.10)
Mizrahim (Arab Jews) had lived in North Africa and the Middle East for millennia, and the vast majority were opposed to creating a Jewish state in Palestine. The Iraqi Jewish leadership, for example, cooperated with the Iraqi government to stop Zionist activity in Iraq; the chief rabbi published an open letter denouncing Zionism. In 1920, Palestinian Jews signed anti-Zionist petitions denouncing Ashkenazi rule. The Mizrahim who arrived in Israel ended up in agricultural work, 10-12 hours a day in conditions of disease and squalor. Their high death rate was explained by one Zionist official as a “common and natural thing”. Today Mizrahim constitute around 50% of the Israeli population. Palestinian Arabs make up another 20%, so the total non-European population is about 70%. Mizrahim were spatially marginalized by the Israeli settlement project, whether in the isolated periphery or in poor and stigmatized neighbourhoods of Israel’s major cities. This has limited their potential economic, social, and cultural participation. The creation of the Israeli new identity involved the de-Arabization of the Mizrahim, the near total erasure of their cultures, the nationalization of their politics.
64. #51 zionist forever
Hal ,   Usa   (03.04.10)
Please zionist, do not use the Marx Brothers or the Three Stooges as a comparison. These two groups of comedians were brilliant Jews. This piece of dreck putz and his fellow putzites are ignorant asses!
65. Well, that pic sure had a creepy vibe to it, #58
Cameron ,   USA   (03.04.10)
Islam & highways.
66. #63 al-jazeera observer
Jake ,   USA   (03.04.10)
I'm not sure what your point is. Jews, like all other nations, have internal politics. The current Israeli government has issues, but that doesn't concern you. It concerns the Jews living in Israel.
67. funny
Nimrod ,   Baghdad, Iraq   (03.05.10)
well ladies and gentlemen if this is the Foreign Minister speaking then I can only imagine what an ordinary Saudi sounds like. There are religious people everywhere but Israel is not a state which derived its laws from the Torah and you cannot compare Israel's liberal society to Saudi Arabian society, when I see this in saudi arabia then I will believe that they are liberal 1- equality between women and men 2- women allowed to drive 3- they can wear a two piece bathing suit 4- no gender segregation , people treated equally without discriminating against ones race, color, creed, sexual orientation. freedom of speech and expression so this foreign minister must be joking
