1. Yigel Amir is still in solitary for killing a politician
zionist forever   (03.04.10)
Yigel Amir has now been in solitary for the past 14 years and two appeals to be let out of solitary have been rejected. If one man can be sent to prison and after 14 years is still in solitary why should we allow another man who killed a politician out after only 9 years? If Saadat has received his [unishment and not only wants out of solitary after only 9 years but it expected to be freed for Gilad Shalit then Yigal Amir also deserves his freedom. He has also received his punishment. Both men have murdered a politician, both men have been sent to prison for it, both men are in solitary for it, both men should either be released from solitary or both men stay in there.
2. Time to institute capital punishment for terror acts
Eric ,   Tel Aviv   (03.04.10)
Political or nationalistic murder should fall under the same capital punishment rules as were used for the the Nazis. Israel should take those who kill with premeditation and wanton acts of murder and euthanize them. It may not act as a deterrent but it has 2 benefits - prevents the same people from commuting crimes again and prevents them from becoming bargaining chips for our soldiers.
3. Israel must NEVER trade a murderer like this in any deal for

Shalit. Use the military option or other options painful to the gazans who hide him. You DO NOT reward murderers.
4. What About Abu Ali Mustafa's Killers!?

5. #2 I agree capital punishment essential
Leah ,   Yerushalayim Yisrael   (03.04.10)
It mystifies me why the govt is not instituting a law to terminate the lives of convicted terrorist murderers for exactly the reasons expressed by Eric in Tel Aviv. I'm so relieved that someone is bringing it up. To me, it seems like a no-brainer. Anybody else out there have an opinion?

I agree capital punishment should be used for certain crimes and terrorists like Saadat should be handed down. If somebody it tried by a civilian court for a terrorist act rather than a military tribunal then they should not be given any kind of special treatment. If we had capital punishment Marwan Bargouti, Saadat and other terrorists would be dead. The Israeli legal system allows capital punishment for murder but so far because the fact the courts are dominated by left wing judges the only person ever executed was Eichman. If it hadn't been because the outcome was known in advance the courts probably would have let him live. Time to stop acting so weak, let terrorists learn what can happen if they kill Israeli citizens.
