Joe ,   Ohio, USA   (03.06.10)
agree with the Senators. Syria is a pariah state for a reason and until there is a definitive change in their international behavior I say let them stew alone and without any international support or recognition of any sort.
2. Obama's motto: APPEASEMENT
Eitan ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (03.06.10)
Sadly, just as Obama, and his servant Colinton, has not done his homework before he spoke in Cairo to have learned that Israel's right to be, to exist, is not derived from the Jewish Holocaust but from a nearly 4,000 years of the Jewish people's affinity to Eretz Israel (Land of Israel), so he has failed to learn how Nazism was able to advance to the point of bringing a disaster upon much of the world and wiped a third of the Jewish people off the face of earth. Will they ever learn...??
3. Obama: Absolutely No Clue
izzie ,   usa   (03.06.10)
the president tried engagement with iran and has been made to look like a fool. now he is doubling down on syria and one can only shake their head in disbelief. where does obama think his realtionship with syria is going to get him. he is remarkably naive to the point of being dangerous. syria's agenda is clear, to unite with iran, hamas and hezbollah and take one more shot at destroying Israel. but the israeli's are ready .. they may take a hit or two but when they are done syria and lebanon will be third world countries. and if iran jumps in, it will get the worst. when 50 drones appear, knock out their radar and start bombing them they will finally realize that israel's anti missile defense is the best in the world. after all, what do they think all those jewish scientists are doing everyday. what dummies.

7. The party of "NO" speaks again.
Persian CAT   (03.06.10)
The US lost much of its credibility and popularity in the world not for talking to "regime like Syria"! The fact is US has lost most of its credibility for supporting a regime like Israel. Everyone knows that.
8. Finally some fresh air coming out of the US...
Peter ,   Vienna-Austria   (03.06.10)
A wise decision which every one would profit. The US should distance itself from the israeli side and start seeing things a bit more different.
9. To ZD
Harvey ,   Los Angeles   (03.06.10)
Galicia is not a pleasant place, but not nearly the hellhole that Syria is. In any event, if you make sure that the Jews will go back, rest assured that there will be no Syria. Hope you can internalize it.
10. #4.But where will Jews who were robbed and expelled fromArab
Alan ,   SA   (03.06.10)

11. If the republicans and israelis are against it...
Mark ,   Netherlands   (03.06.10)
It means that the Us administration, under Obamas leadership is doing something right. We already saw how ugly the world got under the republican part lead by G.W.
12. To Persian Cat
Jewish Pitbull ,   Nevada   (03.06.10)
We should stick to our values and support Israel not terroritst organizations. "Persian Cat" It's crooked people like you who ruin credibility!!!The U.S. and Israel try to work with all countries to achieve peace.
13. Obama doesn't have a clue and
Barney ,   USA   (03.06.10)
if he lays with the dog he will wake up with fleas. Different mentality in me. Israel is the only country that thinks like America. The rest of them are nuts blowing each other up left and right, going to paradise, encouraging their children to blow themselves up. Can anyone even think of asking your child to blow themselves up? They are their own worst enemy. They have shown no progress. Don't know how to show progress and blame Israel because they are a bunch of ignorant 7th century morons
14. Restoring Diplomatic relations with Syria
Spencer ,   Israel   (03.06.10)
Syria is still on the USA list of countries supporting terrorism. The mad Iranian President recently paid an official visit to Syria. The Syrian President made it quite clear that there was no way Syria would sever it's friendly relations with Iran.Conclusion...Obama might as well press the self-destruct button because he's leading the USA to disaster.
15. Obama, wake up !!!!
Yaakov ,   Israel   (03.06.10)
16. Yet another triumverate reward for terrorists
Christopher ,   Boston, MASS   (03.07.10)
Obama supported the Brit release of the butcher of Pan Am 103; he bowed to the Saudi Muslim king who financed the massacre of over 3000 Americans on 9/11; he opposes facing reality and properly identifying the butchers of over a million Armenians; his support for Chavez who is now killing Latinos; and his support through silence of the Ayatollahs. I guess he thinks he making up for it by having ordered the massacre of thousands of innocent Afghan and Pakistani civilians by military drones. What a team
17. Syria Is A Pariah State!
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville USA   (03.07.10)
There is no reason why Syria should be awarded or recognized in any way for its Machiavelian behavior. Why Syria has not been added to the "Axis of Evil" is beyond me.
18. Times Will Change In November
Dan ,   USA   (03.07.10)
The Republicans carry no weight with this far laft administration led by a would be dictator and Muslim Obama. The November 2010 election may change the dynamics.
19. Sit tight my friends. Only 3 short
Allan ,   Ft. Lauderdale   (03.07.10)
years to suffer under the appeaser. The BUM will be tossed out. As clueless and reckless as W was, under his administration, the US was feared and respected. Under the BUM's administration, my beloved US is a pathetic joke. 3 more years my friends and we'll have a leader that knows how to use power and how to commend respect. A leader that will restore our dignity.
20. The US should seek normalization if it really wants peace!
S.Dubois ,   Paris, France   (03.07.10)
Yes , exactly do that, more embargoes, more demonizing, do not send any ambassador stick to the tracks of the Bush administration and make the world a much better place.! Just a simple note the latest bloodiest blood shedding in the region were in Iraq (thx to the well weighed American intervention) and in Gaza (thanks to peace seeking Israel). The days where you spread moralities are over, you have been uncovered and the wheel is turning so unless you want chaos to prevail use the brains for a change and start making the effort of a non sponsored/biased understanding of the region . I do not see why any country would follow a list of demands imposed from a country that does not even make the simplest effort to normalize relations and on the other hand leaves colonization and turn a blind eye to the mass killing of men, women and children like in Gaza. And then some go question why Syria would look for regional balance? About time for less stupidities and more wisdom if peace is really what Isreal and the US really want! The days of distribution of orders to the world are over! And by the way, sending an ambassador is the least the US should do if it is really seeking peace and it is the correction of a mistake under the smart Bush administration it should be in no way considered as a favor by any standards!
21. Syria and the Assads.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (03.07.10)
The Assad regime sponsors terrorism because it is a regime based on terrorism. The advantages for the Assad regime to sponsor jihadists are many. They seek to use terrorists to defeat the United States in the region, thwart the development of democracies in Lebanon and Iraq, and to employ terror as a means of waging war against Israel. By supporting insurgents and terrorists and allowing radical Islam to show its head inside Syria, Assad makes clear that there is no viable alternative to him and that it is he who must be courted if the West is to be successful in the region. 22. Assigning an ambassador is nessecary for..
Dubaian ,   Dubai   (03.07.10)
..peace talks to start and for Syria to be forced politically to move forward, and this is for Israel's good not only Syria's. If you want something from someone, you first show goodwill, then give him a gift out of nowhere, then ask for a bigger favor. Thats politics I believe. I assume the senators are pushed by "certain parties" as usual also, trying to make the most out of his return, but still by following whats happening so far, I dont believe Syria will burn all their cards for an ambassador. I simply see the ambassador arriving soon, as per the Obama plan. Actually, pulling back the ambassador was part of a Lebanese Syrian political uprising, which is now almost completley settled. We hugged 2 months ago!
