1. There are confirmed reports which state that iran..
Peter ,   Vienna-Austria   (03.07.10)
Did buy 12 russian X-55 missiles from Ukraine a few years back. Now lets keep in mind that the X-55 is a cruise missile capable of destroying targets as far as 3000 kilometers. Given the number of missiles they bought,it would indicate that they are" 1- Planning to modify and produce their own version of that missile. 2- place some special warheads on them. 3- The first 2. Other than that, why would any one go through all the effort to buy 12 missiles(6 of which ended up in china)?? Also reports on the internet confirm that iran has managed to buy the s-300 from croatia. Apparently irans missile program is a lot more complicated than many believe.

Negev ,   Israel   (03.07.10)
Congrats to making a bomb that can hit a 100 ton target. Before it even lifts the ground it will be carpet bombed by an F16i.

There are reports confirmed by who, you, Mahmood in London? Peter you have many "facts". Were you a player in the Dubai affair? Are you a weapons expert? Most of your posts read like Clive Custler novels, care to elaborate Mr Bond?
4. PETER.......................................................
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (03.07.10)
The strong indication of Iran having acquired the S-300 missiles from Croatia has been circulating for years now.The latest announcement by the Defence Minister of Iran is also in order as Iran has improved its missile capabilities over the year. The only one amongst few in the talk-back coloumn is Hal,who is bent upon believing that Iran is not capable of producing anything as sophisticated as these defensive weapons. However, let us accomodate Hal at every juncture and allow him to express his opinion.Does it matter who the hell is Hal???:)
5. HAL,ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS TO......#3
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (03.07.10)
Refer to Debkafile and probably Jane's Defence Weekly(not now,of course) in the next few weeks and the Iranians capabilities of what they claim now will be recorded in a very small insignificant paragraph acknowledging what the Iranians have achieved in the missiles industry.Exactly like yourself, the last para of the above article also reads.......'from time to tim...........'.These wordings are meant for home consumption to play down the events.Till such time, you may continue to post and comment on the issues, accordingly.:)
6. #3 Sure thing..just search the X-55 missile and iran in ..
Peter ,   Vienna-Austria   (03.07.10)
Google and see for yourself. Its as easy as that. I also read an article about it on the LA TIMES http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/1485933/Ukraine-admits-missiles-sold-to-Iran-and-China.html here's another link. And by the way I never said I'm a military expert. How ever I believe unlike you, I do not show ignorance and arrogance when talking about a subject.
7. Here is another one Hal..

8. Iranian Military
James ,   Herzeliya   (03.07.10)
just announced that they have begun production on a submarine that can dive 10k drive on land 90km an hour and fly faster than mach 3.
9. Iran prepares for war
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (03.07.10)
Who knows exactly how dangerous Irans self developed weapons really are ? Only one thing is for sure, the mad mullahs are preparing their rouge state for a coming war and their ultimate goal is the destruction of Israel - they MUST be wiped out, before they can go on their rampage.
10. #2 The more I hear you israelis talk on the subject of iran.
Alex ,   Stockholm-Sweden   (03.07.10)
The more I yawn too. 8 years and you have not shot one single bullet. Tsk,Tsk,Tsk. Humiliation at its best. I wonder what kinda excuses you would come up this time around.
11. Warmongers
Robert ,   Brisbane, Australia   (03.07.10)
#9 "They must be wiped out" Do you realize how stupid that statement is? It is the likes of you and all the other warmongers posting here why Iran is bolstering their defences.
12. - 11-
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (03.07.10)
Everybody who assumes, that Iran is a peaceful country which is only bolstering its defences instead of preparing an attack on Israel, is totally naive or an agent of evil. The appeasement policy of 1938 has paved the way for the Holocaust of the Nazis and the appeasers of 2010 want history to repeat itself.

Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (03.07.10)
No, it is even worse (just look for "Whoever controls ME can rule world"). And containment or mutually assured destruction won't work with someone who wants to "quicken the coming of the apocalype in order to hasten the return of the Mahdi, the profesied future redeemer of Islam".
14. 12 Noon at the OK Corral is quickly approaching
Umm El Kul Naqba   (03.07.10)
Israel destroyed Iraq's nuclear facility and was initially condemned but later vindicated and lauded. Israel destroyed the Syrian nuclear facility to the embarrassment of Syria and Iran who supplied the anti-Aircraft defense system. The who matter was hush hush for months. Israel did not say a word and both Syria and Iran were embarrassed. In general Israel says very little but responds with 1000 times the force that the terrorist enemies expect. (ie Operation Summer Rain, Operation Cast Lead) Iran on the other hand openly advocates the Destruction of Israel, supports terror around the world, smuggles arms and money to terrorists, is working on nuclear weapons, missiles, and other weapons. Even other Arab countries want to see Iran attacked and defeated. US is running out of patience. The day of the test between Israel's battle proven technology against Iran's propoganda second rate technology is rapidly approaching. I believe that most countries are hoping to see a dramatic defeat for Iran and I can't wait to see this one play out. I believe that the outcome is a foregone conclusion.
15. next they will invent a missile to take ET home
zionist forever   (03.07.10)
If what they claim is true then it can carry a payload the same as the Tomohawk cruise missile but unlike Tomohawk it can evade radar. Iran may be developing missile technology very fast but this one is another but a 1000 ton radar evading cruise missile is not one of them. Their jets are a reverse engineered F5 Tiger. The Shihab 3 is a reverse engineered North Korean No Dong. Their mini sub is another Nort Korean design. Their tank is a cross between the T-72 & the Patton... like other Iranian designs if it went head - head with an Abrams, Challenger or Merkava in a conventional tank battle it would be the Iranian tanks which were the burned wreckages when the war was over.
16. Iranian "production"
tom ,   toronto, canada   (03.07.10)
the only weapons that iran produces in large, verifiable quantities are "shahids". let's not forget that the the mullahcracy used unarmed "volunteers", prewrapped in white shrouds, to clear minefields during the iran-iraq war. and ahmadinejad has formed "suicide brigades" to "liberate palestine". they are not quite "smart weapons", but they only take 18 years to develop, and are cheap to produce. and the mullahs consider them quite expendable...
17. #10 Don't play the fool
Cynthia ,   USA   (03.07.10)
Plenty of bullets fired at Iranian proxies in 2006 and 2008. Israel displayed weapons retrieved from Hezbollah fighters with the Iranian coat of arms after the 2006 war.
18. #5 What sources do you rely on Mahmood?
Cynthia ,   USA   (03.07.10)
You're always talking about some great achievement or surprise we should watch for which never happens. What sources do you consider reliable? Meanwhile, Iran's economy continues to go south. While the regime plays with its missiles, other oil producing countries are marketing their products and California pistachio growers have invested millions of dollars in marketing to capture the market. They now sell to China which is a huge market previously supplied by Iran.
19. the "nuisance factor"
tom ,   toronto, canada   (03.07.10)
in spite of their grossly overstated, and discredited, reports of "technological prowess", iran cannot be ignored. even though these announcements are primarily for domestic consumption, they often have a kernel of truth, usually that they have bought an advanced weapon from russia or china or north korea. it was one of these weapons that hit an Israeli missile boat during the hezbollah war, for example. not quite the "great victory" that nasrallah and the mullahs claimed (3 crew members killed and the boat was repaired and returned to service), but definitely a nasty (made in china) surprise. likewise, the rocket bombardment of northern israel (a war crime under international law) was far less deadly than hezbollah would have liked, but it was enough of a nuisance to divert world attention from the "iran question". but it confirms the conclusion that iran is way overdue for "regime change".
20. Mahmood
Hal ,   Usa   (03.09.10)
Your too funny Mahmood. Now you and Peter are file sharing your nonsense? First Mahmood, I did not ever say that Iranians are incapable of anything. I do think you are incapable of intellegent research on a subject that you use the internet fantasy world to back up . Between you and your boy Peter, you are like 2 children trying to "out do" each other with more spectacular claims about what Iran is up to. Now you are dragging the Croatians into your pathetic intrigues. Claims are made every day about Iran and the two of you are the fact checkers? Give it up already boys. Mahmood especially you. You need to find a quiet hobby. All this boasting and fantasy and you might end up haveing a break down. You work too hard at it and Peter, you are just encouraging him. Shame on you! By the way Mahmood the "joke" is the one you see while brushing your teeth. It's sad when you try to get someone to lighten up and smile a little and then you go and call me a joke. I'd tell you to get a life, but you just might do it! :))))))))))
21. #18 Cynthia
Hal ,   Usa   (03.09.10)
Mahmood gets his info out of a cereal box. If he collects 25 box tops, he will get a "secret decoder" ring and Israel will be in big trouble then. Mahmood and Peter are having a Bill and Ted's excellent adventure moment. Nobody knows where they will end up. Back to your coloring books boys!
22. #19 Tom
Hal ,   Usa   (03.09.10)
You are quite right Tom. Iran should not be under estimated. They probably have many nasty toys to pop off. The problem for them is that after they pop them off, they have to try and survive what inevitibly will be a horrendous beat down. People like Mahmood seem to think that Iran will be imune from what they might get off in the way of weaponry. That will not under any circumstances be the case. I don't have to quote Janes to understand what is in store for Iran if they misbehave and I am not talking nuclear. All the goose stepping parades and chestbeating generals with all the regalia will not be of any help at that point. Saddam and his crowd looked pretty good in their getups as well. What Peter and Mahmood fail to fathom is that war is a different thing than marching around a paradeground. When the shit hits the fan, those with little or no experience to draw on will be screwed big time. This I do know.
